Here's the real deal about superior movers. I am a recent customer that moved from Bath PA to the Northampton area.
First of all they WERE late (about 1 hour). But to give them credit, they were coming from Philly and didn’t charge a cent for all of that travel time (I'm sure the gas was half of what they charged!)
2nd of all, the rate WAS slightly different than what they quoted, I was quoted on the phone $75 / hour and was charged (I think it was) $82 per hour. not sure why and maybe they need to work on that a bit.
they didn’t lay down cardboard to protect floors (but they didn’t need it because they carried everything). they didn’t pack things up for me (I had taken care of all that). what they did do was move quick and efficient. they made sure to carry everything as not to scratch any floors etc. a few things that impressed me:
1. my wife had given them a very inaccurate description of the amount of things we had. she left out the queen sized bed, washer and dryer, fridge, portable dish washer, large heavy tool box, exercise bike etc! we had ALOT of very heavy, bulky items and these guys just kept on going even though they weren’t prepared for that big of a move.
2. I had 2 boxes of dishes that had been in my family for a few generations. I mentioned to one of the guys that they were fragile and precious. he took the time to assure they were handled carefully and packed properly. He even remembered what they were when he went to unload and handed them directly to me saying ""here are those fragile items of yours"". they weren’t even labeled but he remembered!
3. they didn’t really break anything. The very first thing they carried over the threshold of the door was a large dresser and they carried it just a bit too low and a piece of bottom trim caught and popped off the dresser (the threshold sticks up a bit and people trip on it) BUT they nailed it back on for me (it was only nailed on to begin with) other than that, everything was in perfect condition.
Between the load and unload they estimated the time remaining and gave me what the total would be. They finished the unload before their estimate AND credited me the difference (I ended up paying less than their estimate).
There were 2 guys, one said his name was “Muff” short for “Muffice” I think he said. I forget the other guy’s name. They were both very friendly, very careful, and very hard working guys. At the end of the day I was happy to give them a very generous tip.
To sum it up, like the title says, they are a “no frills” moving service. The price was very good and so was the service. I would definitely recommend them to others and definitely use them again.
