New York Best Movers came highly recommended to me from friends at my office - when I called, the guy who answer the phone (Mike ) had this quick respond type of representation (t...

Nothing about this restaurant was pleasant. This is coming from someone who is relatively easy to please. The food was bland and the service was horrendous. At one point, I spille...

DON'T USE!!! HUGE FEES!!! 8/18/2010

I used this company because I read lots of good reviews, but they were all for NYC moves. When I used this firm for an interstate move, they did a horrible job, broke lots of our things, charged an exorbitant amount for uneeded packing materials, and have been impossible to get in contact with to settle claims. AIM might be great for metro moves, but not for interstate moves. more

Do not believe the 5-star reviews 8/18/2010

Typical moving company!! They came in a rented truck with a bunch of guys that McDonald's wouldn't hire. Took forever to do a small move. I don't know who they give the white glove service to, but it sure wasn't me!!! For me more like brown glove service. Hire at your own risk!! more

The company provided us with all FALSE level of moving. 8/18/2010

This is my first time using http://CertifiedMovers.net and it will be the last due to: Poor timing. Poor schedulling. Lack of responsability. I called the company to move from Miami to New York. They did arrive on time to my house for pick up, but they failed tho do delivered on time. After being on the phone for several hours and being transfer from one employee to another I received a lame excuse for the delay. I'm sorry http://CertifiedMovers.net but I will never use your service againg more

WORST MOVING SERVICE. 8/18/2010

I live in a studio with a couch, a bed and few other items - not a large move. After paying over one thousand dollars more than the cost of my estimate, this company LOST 2 boxes in the local move. No one will return my phone calls and the service is the absolute wost I have ever dealt with. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT use this New York Certified Approved Movers company ever. A total disgrace, they should be sued. more

BEWARE of this company 8/18/2010

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I'd give them no stars if I could. First, they were 45 minutes late. Then the whole time the head mover was incredibly rude to me. They didn't ask me where I wanted any of my furniture in the new place and just started placing it randomly. When I realized and asked them to move pieces, the head guy was (again) horrible. Worst of all, they damaged all my furniture. In particular, they didn't properly secure the drawers of my grandmother's antique dresser, and when the head mover took it off the dolly, all the drawers fell out. My heirloom dresser is ruined--scratches all over it--and he scuffed up my brand new floor to boot. On top of that, when I asked him, in tears, what happened, he said that nothing happened!!! He tried to act like he had done nothing wrong, then he tried to convince me that it was MY fault. He finally confessed after five minutes of me crying. They also dirtied and ripped the base of my bed, which is cloth. My other furniture wasn't damaged as badly, but it was all terribly handled. At the end of the whole ordeal, when I still tipped them, the head mover said that I didn't tip enough and demanded a larger tip. He said that each mover (3 total) normally got tipped 20% of the whole move. Call me crazy, but paying 160% for a move sounds CRAZY. Especially when they did the worst job ever. After four months of harassing their "insurance department," they did cut me a check for $350. Not anywhere near what my grandmother's dresser is worth (or was worth, before they ruined it, not to mention the fact that they destroyed a family heirloom), but I guess it's better than nothing? Bottom Line: They were absolutely horrible. Don't trust these nasty people with your belongings! more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! 8/18/2010

I scheduled them for moving reading all the reviews. And I picked them over a random person off on Craigslist. They took deposit upfront to get me scheduled and NEVER SHOWED UP ON THE DAY OF THE MOVE. And to top it never gave me a notice so that I could schedule it with someone else. The scheduled move was for 5:00PM and I get a call from the dispatcher Jacobs at 4:53 PM saying he is running late might be there by 7:00 PM. But he never came and did not even have the decency to call me and letting me know. When spoke to Ryan over the phone the day after the move which never happened she HUNG UP on me and was VERY RUDE to speak to. Bottom line - DON'T GET THEM. They are all about the talks. more

Worst movers! Don't use 8/18/2010

I had a move scheduled for 1pm and received a phone call after 3pm from the Moving Team that they had just finished the job before me and would be on their way shortly. It became all too clear at 3:30 when they called to say they were on their way for real that I would be unable to move within the guidelines of the building I was supposed to be moving into. I called the office and let them know the situation and instead of an apology, I was met with rudeness as if the situation were my fault. I requested a specific time and a discount (really, I think I was entitled to one since I had to take yet another day off work), which he did grant me. I really can't stress how unprofessional this person's behavior was through the entire process, I do not recommend this company. more

The Worst Movers in New York!!! 8/18/2010

I chose http://CertifiedMovers.net movers for my long distance move from NYC to Miami,Florida because of their guarantee of a http://CertifiedMovers.net and no hidden costs. I am so dissatisfied with my moving experience. I hope you don't suffer like I have. First, my stuff arrived three days late, and on the day I was supposed to start my new job. Luckily my wife took the day off from work to accept the packages. On the day they finally delivered the stuff they were supposed to deliver it at 9 am but they didn't show up until 3:30 pm and I was charged an extra fee by my building because the freight elevator was reseved already in the afternoon. The movers said they were not responsible for that fee. Second when they unloaded all the stuff they were missing 16 boxes. They said they would deliver the next day first thing in the morning. They arrived at 3:30 pm again. And this time the legs on my dresser were broken off. They didn't even apologize for breaking my furniture or showing up late. Luckily my super waived the elevator fee the second time and said, "I would never use that moving company they always pull stuff like this." Obviously this is not an isolated incident and you should be aware before booking them. I hope this info helps. more

No good for interstate moves. 8/18/2010

I'm only giving it one star because it doesn't allow you to leave no stars!!!!!! I had NJ to NY move, for a small apt. I called 24 hours in advance to confirm 3 movers. Day of they showed up with an extra guy (who was blind in one eye). They threatened to leave if I didn't take the extra guy. They wanted to charge me $200 to pack up a $50 Target TV stand. Even after all of the headache, I decided to be nice and ask them if they wanted food or water, they said no - only tip. MOST IMPORTANT: They are insured only .67 to the lbs. so if they break your expensive LCD that weights 30 lbs. you only get $20 back! Don't book with these ppl. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!! more

BEWARE of this company 8/18/2010

I recently used Certified Movers Real #1 Scam in Moving World and selected them based on price and the expectations set with me by their sales guy. Their pricing was significantly higher both by how they represented when they start charging per hour and when they stop. Also, they added in additional fees. The overall price ended up being about 30% higher than it should have been based on the original expectations. By the way, my expectations were set and verified by 4 different scheduling representatives. I was surprised unfortunately. more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! 8/18/2010

Received a quote of $967 to move a pullout sofa, pullout chair, queen Ikea bed, 42 inch plasma, console table, and two chests of drawers for a move from a 4th floor Chelsea walkup to a groundfloor Park Slope apartment. Also opted for additional insurance. Was also warned that I was expected to tip Quote was high, but was expecting great service. Was also told that I was expected to tip the movers 15%. Movers were supposed to arrive on a Sunday at 9 and were supposed to provide wardrobe boxes, drawer boxes, and a commercial bin with which our clothes and other items could be placed into. They had neither and told us, even though some of these boxes were listed on our inventory list, that our sales guy had been screwing up all week and these things don't exist at http://CertifiedMovers.net. I tried calling our sales guy who was supposed to be with us 'from beginning to end'. Well, the office is closed on weekends. I couldn't get a hold of a single person to complain about the movers or their inability to adher to the contract. The movers did not take our clothes or some other items and damaged a wall in my old apartment and tried to hide it by piling the clothes they dumped out of my dressers in front of it. Customer service and the sales departments at http://CertifiedMovers.net were very sporadic with returning my calls and offered me only a $100 refund. Stay away- everything about this company is a lie. They were efficient- but only b/c they had another move scheduled in a few hours and had to get over there. more

Buyer Beware 8/18/2010

Their website offers online quotes, but you can't get a quote without an estimate. You will get a call and email each day from the company until you speak to them about arranging to get an estimate. We finally gave in, after all, all the reviews here seemed positive. Well, the estimator came over late for his appointment, basically barged right in and walked around without asking permission. Late and in a hurry to make his next appointment, he failed to listen to me as I found myself repeating our tentative move-in date(s) and moving needs and very patronizing--tell me how I shouldn't pack various items and in a certain manner (I told them, I didn't plan on them to move those items which were being hand carried anyways). Then, he was late in meeting his own deadline of getting the estimate to us Monday morning (the estimate was scheduled for 12:30pm on a Friday and he didn't arrive until 2pm that day. The estimate came at 2pm, only after I contacted Flatrate's sales rep in the morning). Then, I am floored that http://CertifiedMovers.net thinks of moving a 1 bedroom duplex at about $2K ($1995 to be exact). We planned on packing everything ourselves as we don't trust/rely on movers, and I can't believe their prices which were more than 3 times more than any other quote we received online or when from an in house estimate. Don't bother with these guys. more

3 stars too many 8/18/2010

My experience with Nybestmovers.com was a nightmare almost from start to finish. I'm a college student in NY and needed to store several boxes for the summer. The fee I was given for the move into storage, along with the subsequent per-month storage charge, were both much less than what I ended up having to pay, and the price to get my things out of storage was almost double what I paid to move them there in the first place! I was told it wouldn't be possible to claim my things from the storage facility myself for at least another week, when I would no longer have access to a car and thus no way of getting my boxes back to my dorm. When I did get my boxes, one of mine was missing and, in its place, someone else's box. I never received a promised call concerning the state of my missing box, and had to wait two days before I could get a hold of someone at the office. I was told I would receive my box within two hours; five hours later I called the office again and was told I would get it within an hour. The majority of a day wasted, and all due to a mistake they made! I will certainly never use them again, and I strongly urge anyone considering Lucky Movers New York to look elsewhere. more

Horrible Experience - Broken and Lost Furniture! 8/18/2010

this company quoted me a price that was literally 3 times that of 3 other companies. shop around! more

Lost our Deposit 8/18/2010

On June 27th, 2010 I had the misfortune of having this company move me. They showed up with 4 movers, but it might as well have been 2 as only 2 were really ever doing anything. These idiots are amateurs at best, and broke five pieces of my expensive furniture. The will try to get you to sign a valuation statement on the bill of lading that states that if they break anything their liability will only be limited to 30¢ per pound per item. So unless your furniture weighs a few tons you can expect to get enough back to buy you lunch at Micky D's should something go wrong. With such a small downside what do they care if they break your stuff! I immediately crossed that thirty business out which means that my valuation is $2,500.00. Do you think they will honor that - forget it. These guys are just another batch of these Israeli-Franch movers that you need to watch out for. Book at your own risks!! more

http://www.certifiedmovers.net - World Moving Scam Company Big Hidden Charges $2000 for studio apartment 8/18/2010

They seemed nice on the phone but then arrived 4 days--yes 4 days late! And then on the day they arrived 2 hours outside the window. Came a man short and thus went over an hour. Also they don't pack any paper-i mean no paper. They refused to go through my bathroom items...after they left I wad forced to pack for another 3 hours. Most stressful experience I've ever had. Bottom line do not use them. I regret not going with Moishe's a company I've used several times in the most. more

Get ready to be harrassed 8/18/2010

If you use them - don't bother getting insurance. They trashed my furniture and refuse to pay out. It's a shame - because I used to like and recommend them. Now I will never use them again. I'm surprised they haven't been indicted on insurance fraud yet. Absolutely amazing. more

THE WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER. 8/18/2010

My move from New York to Tampa, FL got contracted out to Flat Rate Moving. I was excited when I found this out because I knew they had an excellent reputation. Unfortunately, it was the exact opposite of what I expected. When the 2 movers arrived in Florida they were very rude and lazy. They didn't put back together any of my items except my bed. There was a large dent on my nightstand and a lump in my mattress (most likely caused by their carelessness). And, not to mention, one of my boxes is missing! They claimed to have left it in Orlando with the guy who was before me....but over a week now and no sign of that box. The one thing that they actually did put together, my bed, was done wrong. The slats fell apart and warped the screw holes-- so now it is basically broken. Total damage is probably about $5300. Even though my rights entitle me to frieght costs for the part of the move where your goods are damaged, Flat Rate is only offering me a check for $200????? Are you kidding me?? Do not be fooled by all the good reviews. This is a terrible experience that I fear is going to involve a long process to get things resolved. more

Worst Movers Ever -- Unreliable, Late and Expensive! 8/18/2010

after wasting my time for about an hour asking me the dimensions of everything I own, they told me it would be at least $1200 to move 20 minutes away, with almost no furniture. I'm sure theyre very responsible, but only use them if you don't care how much you spend. more
