A Chicago landmark and must try if you haven't. Great Italian dishes and deep dish pizza.

Worst

This location was so slow I would have left had it not been raining. It took 90 min. to get one pie. At that, it was lukewarm at best and very average...

Ah we are men and we are stuffed!! 7/18/2002

My last visit to Giordano's, was to me the same great dining experience I've always had but, to the 2 friends who came with me......Heaven!! Yes the ""virgins"", ""Oh, no way will 1 pie feed the 3 of us."" After all we are ""men""!! So we ordered 2 large stuffed pies. With me shaking my head knowing it would be way to much. The beer was cold, the pies were steaming and the ""men"" were hungry....You could tell that the stuffed pies had taken thier toll as the eating frenzy slowed almost to a halt. ""This is the best!"", my freind said,""and I just can't stop with half a pizza left."" It has been years since my first slice. I remember it as though it were yesterday. Fancy words do not paint the tapestry sufficiently to share what a culinary delight this pie is to me. The winning elements are all presented in this stuffed crust pizza. The basic formula for pizza; Crust+Sauce+Cheese+Toppings=Pizza However, Giordano's ascends to the outerlimits of what great pizza is all about. Toppings are a matter of taste for most. However, the foundation on which they are placed is typically a common element. Giordano's created a crust that delights the pallet, a sauce that compliments any combination of toppings (Stuffings), and encased it all together to form what is the greatest pizza that has ever caused me to salivate at the mention of it. Great pizza, but crowded 6/26/2002

This location gets jammed with both tourists and locals. It's not unusual to wait an hour or more for a table -- and the bar's tiny and packed, too. Plus, they expect you to order your pizza well before you even get seated -- it makes for a rather odd dining experience (but many of the other local deep-dish places do the same thing). A pizza to remember 5/31/2002

My boyfriend and I had Giordano's first on our list of places to go because of the famous Chicago deep dish pizza. We ended up going to two different ones while we wer there and both times it was a great experience. Our waitresses were super sweet and the pizza was awesome. We're from St. Louis and the pizza there is flat and crispy. I wish we could order some Giordanos down here! Pros: Very yummy pizza more

I recommend the Hyde Park location, not as busy!Very good, thick or thin. Execellent choice of toppings. Best to get an appetizer, some times the wait for your pie can be up to 30 minutes. Cons: meter parking more

My fav 5/27/2002

I get to visit Chicago every other year or so. There are only 2 restaurants that I MUST go to when I do. Twin Anchors for ribs, and Giordano's for pizza. Unbelievable deep dish pizza. Just flat out fantastic. Pros: Pizza more
