I was very pleased with the treatment my dog received here. He had injured a leg and couldn't put weight on it and I was in a panic. I had brought a dog here many years ago after ...

My Newfoundland decided to help clean up the antifreeze that leaked from my Husbands car last week. At first, I didn't know what the problem was until that night when a new puddle appeared from under the car. I rushed our boy to the clinic and they examined him and gave me a quote for treatment. By this time, He was having awfully bad convulsions. I wait tables and Gregg is in between jobs, so, I was up front and told them I didn't have any money. I was getting prepared for the only solution left, but the Doctor asks, ""well, what do we have to work with""? Turns out that they accepted half down and then we worked out a payment schedule. I've had dogs all my life and been to the Vet more times than I can count and this is the first one that seemed to care about how a large bill would impact our family. I'm going back there for all my animal care from now on. Thanks Guys (and Gals), that big furry Bozo is back to his obnoxious self. more

It is unfortunate that I have to write this, but I've had to take my dog to Emerald City a couple of times over the past 6 years and they've always done a great job getting her stitched back up (figuratively and literally). \r \r In both cases (one involved my dog basically going into shock from a bee sting) they gave me good information about the situation and what to do (if anything) regarding care going forward. \r \r Yes, the prices are quite high, but it's emergency care, so think of it like when you have to visit the ER. It's not fair to compare it to your regular vet bills. So if you find yourself in an emergency and can't get to your regular vet, this is the place to go in Seattle. more

Twice, our dog ended up here: Once for some kind of bite that caused his entire face to swell, along with other symptoms too gross to mention. They were kind, gave me a clear idea of costs and stuck to the plan. (We were poor grad students and they were very considerate of that.) Fast forward 11 years and our sweet boy had a stroke at age 16. We brought him in and it was clearly time for him to say goodbye. They sensed our hesitation, and the vet looked him over (free of charge) and said that we should feel ok with our decision, giving us peace since he had spent most of the day happy and active. They let us spend some time with him before saying goodbye, wrapped him in warm towels since his extremities were getting cold and never rushed us. This was a sad, sad day, and the compassion and kindness shown was much appreciated. Yes, it is a business and they should be paid for being available at all hours and, much like any ER or after-hours clinic, you pay a bit more for the services, but I felt the vet and the assistants at ECEC were very professional and kind, and they were so sweet with Atticus, petting him and handling him so gently.\r more

These people have saved my dog's life twice. Once when she was poisoned at a park by a possible fungus, and again after a near fatal dog attack.\r \r I have a small dog, a Papillon that is under 10lbs, so timing is everything.\r \r The receptionist is the sweetest little lady in the world and made the financial part as painless as possible (and thank goodness I have pet insurance).\r \r The doctors keep the most detailed notes of the procedures and explain everything so thoroughly.\r \r Thank you for saving my girl!\r more

Dogs and cats are expensive, and when they get sick on the weekend, it's going to be even more costly. Pet owners who don't understand this are likely to be frustrated with E.C. Emergency Clinic. I adopted a dog from a legit rescue on Tuesday, and it was horribly sick by Thursday. When I took it into a ""regular"" vet, they tentatively diagnosed her as having pain from her spay stitches. Wrong. By early Saturday morning, I knew my dog was worse than ever, and I took her to EC Emergency Clinic. The assistant was so thoughtful and caring. Yes, they took my dogger to the back to be examined, but that's partially because they had to hook her up to an IV immediately. The vet (I forget her name) came out within a few minutes to tell me what tests they'd like to run, and all the possible outcomes. She was honest yet positive and supportive. It turns out that my dog has parvo (she must have gotten it a day or two before she was vaccinated by the rescue's vet). She's currently in her second day of treatment at the clinic, and is already doing significantly better. The vets understand that I have gone over my annual ""dog budget"" in a week, but I am OK with that since she's receiving 24-hour veterinary care, unlike regular clinics where the vets go home in the evening and return in the morning. When I call for an update on the dog, they patiently and warmly give me answers. They call when any treatment plans change. They let me know what to expect in the next day or two. They helped me get an interest-free payment plan so I can afford to save and rehabilitate my pup. Most importantly, they genuinely care about both the dog and me, and it shows.\r more

**4 stars** We had an issue with two of our greyhounds getting into a fight and after the dust settled, both needed to be taken into the vet...on the Fourth of July...after 6PM. Ugh.\r \r Of course, it was a holiday after-hours and our regular vet was closed. Off to Emerald City we go! Considering the upsetting nature of our visit, we had a great experience with the entire staff and docs at the clinic. They were upfront about possible costs and while one of our girls had to stay for surgery, they were able to treat the other while we waited and we took her home with us that night.\r \r We picked up our overnight girl the next day and they'd done a great job stitching her back up and cleaning up her wounds. They were thorough explaining the after-care for both girls and were great about communicating the care they'd given with our regular vet (who we went to for the follow-up visits).\r \r Overall, we had a great experience. I'm not sure why folks are so down on this place, but we'd come here again in a heartbeat if we needed to (and , of course, REALLY hoping we don't...). more

We are writing this to note to express our most sincere thanks to your superb end of life care for our cats, Dumbo and Klutz. They were a big part of our lives and their absence continues to pain us. However, as much as their lives were precious to us, it was so very important to provide them with the best possible avenue to conclude their lives. Your warm and empathetic approach of practicing what must be the hardest aspect of the vetrinary medicine has made the ordeals less over-whelming for us. We particularly appreciated Valaries affirming comment on our painful decision to let Klutz go, that we did the right thing for him. We want her to know that we repeated her words again and again to ourselved and found some solace with them. Thank you Valarie. They were born together and spent all their lives together. They were brothers andf best friends. In some way it makes sense that they should go together. We are hanging on to the beliefs that they suffered the least possible and they are now happy again.Thank you so much for you attentiveness and thoughfulness during the last months of Dumbo and Klutz. You have our utmost respect and appreciation. more

To all the staff at Emerald City Emergency Clinic: I would like to express my thanks to all of you who answered my questions so patiently and thoroughly on Saturday when my Cocker spanial, Tara, was in labor. I made several calls and was quite anxious- it was Tara's first litter and niether my husband nor I had been experienced in the dog breeding and puppy delivery before. It is very comforting to be able to call in the middle of a long night and get an answer. Thank you! more

We can't begin to thank you for the care you gave our dog Levi after his chest was cut up by a kitchen knife last Tuesday night. He's been a very special puppy since we got him in June and the knowledge that we could have lost him is so painful for us. He is now a happy boy again thanks to all the skill and care you used to save him. We are so very appreciative. more

Thank you so much for your kind and caring treatment of Betty last Tuesday. I cannot tell you how nice it was to have you be so throrough and focused on Betty. She is such a sweet dog and you took such good care of her that she is recovering nicely and will be back at it(minus a few teeth!) because of nice, skilled and attentive folks like you. I hope we don't see you at the hospital again but maybe on a nice long walk!! Thanks so much, I hope you know what a difference you make and how professionally and empathetically you make it. more
