Emerald City Emergency Clinic

I wouldn't call the experience great, as no one wants to have to take a furry family member to the vet at 2AM. That said, Emerald City took amazing care of my dog Molly when I brought her in 3 months ago with what turned out to be bloat and a twisted stomach. They got her in immediately, performed the tests to determine what was wrong, and she was in surgery within the hour. The excellent doctor saved Molly's life, and her aftercare was excellent.\r \r I was regularly called with updates from various staff and the doctor on duty, as well as allowed to come in and spend time with Molly several times before she was allowed to come home. I also brought her a stuffed toy from home and the staff made sure that it came back with her . Her treatment plan and postsurgical care plan was clearly written and explained in detail to me and my husband.\r \r Yes, it was expensive, but it was an emergency surgery in an ER. The bill was clear, itemized, and the doctor and staff made sure that I knew what I was signing at every stage, and were kind and considerate when I was emotional following her initial diagnosis.\r \r While I hope to never have to make another emergency visit, I am very relieved to know that there is a competent, clean, and skilled ER vet just down the street in case Molly ever needs one again. God forbid! more

We had a great experience there. Our cat got some sort of mouth injury probably from biting a stinging insect. Dr. Emma Felten was very compassionate and thoughtful. Her staff was attentive and efficient. We left with out cat feeling better and we were able to sleep knowing our cat had been looked over and treated. I will always go there for any after hours emergency. more

I've been to the others. I've spent a small fortune just to find out that Muttley only had a short time. Seems like nobody in town knew about Addison's disease. Nobody, that is, except Emerald City. Cheap pill you can get anywhere and he's back to his normal obnoxious self. Why didn't the other places check for this? Lack of experience? I dunno. more

Our 17 yr old chihuahua lost the ability to use his hind legs after slowly losing mobility over the last 5 years. After 36 hours we could no longer stand to see him in so much pain (even with meds) and decided euthanasia.\r \r Being a Sunday our regular vet up the street is closed. \r \r The experience was much better than we anticipated -- given the circumstances. \r \r The staff did not rush us, gave us time to digest what was happening and went above and beyond to accommodate us during a sad and also special moment in our life. \r \r Peanut passed peacefully and we'll miss our furry companion. more

Thank you for treating Pris a couple weekends ago! She is doing so well! She gets her fluids every night, is on her epogen and eating her Renal LP like a mad woman. She is even enjoying the iron supplement treats her regular vet gave her. I would highly reccomend this clinic - your vets are straightforward, compassionate and non-judgemental. These folks are the best. Kind, competent, honest and reasonable, considering the hours they're open. Saved my cat's life when he stopped eating when I went to Italy. Refer to them all the time. more

I took my dog to other clinics trying to find out why in the world he was acting like he was 90. He wouldn't eat and was loosing weight fast. The other doctors said the end was near but Dr Corrigan figured out that he had Addisons disease. It is incurable but a cheap pill you can get anywhere solved the problem. Why didn't the others figure this out? If I had gone to Emerald City first, I would have saved my self a ton of money and allot of sleepless nights. My Boy and I were treated like we were important. I'd recommend these folks to anyone. more

Hi gang. I can't thank you enough for making Simon all better. You took AMAZING care of him and he's well on his way back to his old goofy self. He does get a mountain of treats afterward, which might have something to do with it, plus, he's a really good dogee.THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!! more

I've taken cats there four times, twice at end-of-life situations and twice with emergencies when the other clinics were closed. They are expensive but at every time they were compassionate and tried their best to help my cats. They let me cry over my cats when there was nothing to be done for them, and the other two times they have been extremely polite and professional. They've helped one cat survive a blocked urinary tract and another when she had a gastrointestinal infection. Face it, tests at midnight aren't going to be cheap, but if the pet survives, it's worth it! more
