DO NOT USE WORST SERVICE EVER ""F"" RATING 11/9/2011

THIS COMPANY HAS AN ""F"" RATING NOT ONE STAR... Whirlpool sent this company tech as a so called ""preferred service"" acccording to cap city. They came out for a known heater element recall without any parts, spent 10 mins writing a bill for service they never intended on performing, then when we told them we can't justify paying for a service not rendered they sent a FINAL BILL the next day. I called and talked to Terri in billing and got nothing but RUDENESS and ATTITUDE. Still no dishwasher, no parts and oh yea a FINAL BILL for $80 for nothing. more

This place is the worst. Electrolux provided the # for Capital City and I just assumed they'd be OK. Bottom line is this place is they are very unprofessional!!! Seriously, I don't have the time to write EVERYTHING that transpired. Just use someone else! more

Capital City Hassles! 10/19/2011

It's no wonder all of the reviews of Capital City Appliance Service are terrible. Unfortunately we are stuck with them because we bought our refrigerator from LOWES! So maybe everyone should think twice about dealing with them,too. We have been attempting to get a minor repair to our refrigerator (still under warranty) for a month now. Although the service tech. was polite on the TWO prior visits, it's the scheduling that's a nightmare! The scheduler is rude to say the least, and it is impossible to get them to commit to a 3 hour window even when scheduling far in advance. Today, I stayed home all morning, only to have to cancel because the repair man was not here within the window. Too bad they have us by the gonads! because they do not deserve anyone's business. more

Worst repair company ever! 8/14/2011

I called these guys to fix my Whirlpool Duet washer that was not draining in the beginning of July. A very nice repairman came and I thought fixed the problem. He ran the washer while he was there and it worked. As soon as he left I threw in some laundry and it didn't work. I called Capital City Appliance right away and I had to wait another 3 days for my washer to be fixed. Then a week later my dryer quits so I call Capital City Appliance again. This time the repairman was a little rude and kept asking me what I thought the problem was. I told him the dryer wasn't heating up and so my clothes were not getting dry. If I had to guess I would say it was the heating element, but obviously I am not a repair man. He told me when he was done that it was a blown thermostat. I do maybe 2 loads of laundry over the next week and by the 3rd load the dryer doesn't heat up again. I call Capital City 1st thing on a Monday morning and tell them that I want my dryer fixed either later today or tomorrow. I was told that I had to wait until Friday. The store manager, Terry, called me around 10:30 telling me I had to wait until Friday for my dryer to be fixed because I am an idiot with ac clogged vent who has now blown my heating element. Nice customer service! She diagnosed this over the phone without ever coming to my house. When I asked for the name of the owner, Terry informed me his name was ""John"" and ""that's all I need to know"". I hung up on her as I will NEVER allow anyone from this company in my house again and called another repair company. The other repair company showed up 1st thing the next morning and checked my vent (which is something Capital City Appliance does not do!) and said it was clear and there was good airflow. Then they went to repair my dryer and the problem was a blown thermostat! Funny, didn't I pay Capital City Applicance $200 to fix that a week ago!?! It cost me another $90 to have it fixed again at less than half the price. By the way, the company that fixed my dryer for less was Northwest Appliance, they are great, more

What a wonderful Experience 5/8/2011

I had been looking all over town for a company that I could trust. I have a range just barely over two years old and had not had any problems with it. I went through the phonebook and asked my friends who they would reccomend, I heard from a couple of people that I should try Capital City, so the moment i called into them they were so helpful, asking me if I had tried certain things before we set up an appointment to see if I could save myself money. It didn't work, so the office staff set up my service call, I was told that I would get a call with a closer timeframe the night before. I couldn't believe that they would call me, that was very thoughful and polite. When the technician arrived he was very clean, polite and very knowledgeable about my appliance. Even though he did not have the part on his truck I only had to wait a couple of days, when he came back and installed my part I informed him it worked better then the day I bought it. Even though I know it wasn't going to be a free repair but the budget I am on I was able to afford the repair. I would reccomend this company over and over again. They have a customer for life! more

Great Service 4/12/2011

I have never used Capital City but have a new Viking grill that needed service and they are one of two servicers of Viking in the area. After reading the bad reviews I was worried about the service I would get. No need. From my first phone call their staff was very friendly and helpful. Because this is an outdoor appliance and we ended up having a 100% chance of rain on day of repair the tech called me saying he would make every effort to be at my home, but may have to reschedule. When it was raining I called the office and asked to reschedule for the next day, which was supposed to be sunny. No problem to change. However, instead of sun, we got cloudy with a chance of rain! The tech just left. He said he knew the forecast called for rain but didn't want to make me reschedule again and was hopeful he could get here to fix my appliance. He did. What a nice guy too. Professional and fast. Great service. Would recommend. more

Terrible service do not use this company ever 3/30/2011

Do not call this place. They came to fix my washer since it would not spin and now it won't even start. When I called to complain they yelled at me and told me that their repair men were excellent and it was not their fault and my machine was not actually broken. I am not sure what their definition of broken is, but i consider not starting at all a problem. I went from being inconvenienced to not being able to use my washer at all thanks to their incompetent repairman and then their rude customer support yelled at me when I asked that they not cash the check I wrote them until they actually FIX my machine since I don't think I should have to pay someone to break my machine instead of fixing it. They threatened a collection agency if I canceled my check. I am very unhappy with this company, they are not accredited by the BBB and if you want your appliances to work you better call someone else. more

Terrible customer service. No show for appointment. 10/26/2010

Part was ordered after first appointment. Had appointment scheduled to install part between 1 and 4 PM. Took time off of work and tech never showed or called. Next day Capital City Appliance office called and stated that tech tried to call me twice at 5:30. I was home and never recieved a call. I stated that if this was true, my number would show on the techs company cell phoneas being dialed. She didnt accept that and said we could reschedule for end of week. I explained that this is unacceptable due to my schedule and expect Capital City to make this right by repair my washer sooner. She put me on hold to speak to the ""Office Manager"". She stated that tech was at my house and called twice. More lies. Then she said ""We can either reschedule you or we will send your parts back, we dont care"" Nice customer service. She never appoligized for wasting my day. She stated ""We serve 150 people a day"". Basically, ""We could care less about you or your time"" Well, this is the last time you get a chance to service my appliances. Being that this was a warranty issue, I called the warranty admin and had them reassign the repair to a different appliance repair company. Hopefully they will lose the warranty account so more people dont have to experience my frustration. Steer clear of Capital City Appliance. Read the Better Business Bureau reports. more

I have used Capital City Appliance since I moved to Columbus in 2003. They have serviced both domestic and European appliances for me (Miele, Maytag). I am totally pleased with each experience and would highly recommend them. I am sorry others have not had good experiences, but my experience is exceeds expectations. more

Refrigerator and dehumidifier service 5/28/2010

Following on my 5/28 comments. The service man didn't know what to do with the Sub Zero and called in to get instructions. He said that the controller just needed to ""reset"" which he did. A day later the same service indicator numbers started flashing on the screen. I paid him the $69.00 service call already, and now I am now doubly upset. Cons: poor / incomplete customer service + interaction more

Capital City Appliance Service is GREAT! 4/9/2010

When the ice maker on my KitchenAid refridgerator broke, I started to call Capital City Appliance but the negative remarks made me go to another vendor. I went with Service Pros. They told me a repair person would be here the next day! I had to be at home from 2-6, and it was made clear to me if I wasn't home, or cancelled after a certain time, I would be charged a $75.00 service call. Ok, that seemed fair. But, at 2:10, I received a call from a person in New York, stating that the repair man would not be arriving to repair my appliance today! The soonest someone could help me was Monday, three days later. There was no apology, offer of a discount etc. I then called Capital City Appliance. The receptionist was kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. A repairman came the next day. He had the necessary parts on his truck! He also found another problem with the refridgerator that saved me another service call. I've used CCA several times. I love the service. I think the prices are fair, and they are extremely professional. Never again will I allow negative comments sway me from using a reliable repair service such as Capital City Appliance Service. Pros: Fast, fair, knowledgeable service people. Cons: None - more

Misogynistic and destroyed my appliance!!! 4/6/2010

Capital City Appliance totaled my appliance and won't take responsibility for it. The tech was responsible for damage to my appliance and won't own up to it. I called the owner of the company who used language that was disrespectful to both me and my husband during phone calls, we did not receive an apology and were told that we'd get nothing from them to replace the appliance. You can bet we'll never use them again and that we'll do everything we can to make sure our friends and family stay away from them!! Excellent Service Experience 10/24/2009

I was concerned after reading the other reviews. My experience was very positive. It was easy to schedule an appointment, I was called the evening before to confirm a time period. Mike, the repair technician, was able to locate the problem with my Kitchenaid dishwasher and had the part on his truck to do the repair.I would definitely recommend them.
