Having had a variety of rental experiences in the past and moving from owning our own places, we have been a bit apprehensive of the challenges of going back to a rental experience, but we have both been very impressed and happy. more

I recently relocated from SF and everything about my experience with Ballard Realty has far exceeded my expectations! My apartment was really clean when I moved in and when I had a small maintenance concern they responded right away. Having the ability to pay directly online with their software makes paying rent so easy! I also really appreciate being able to walk in and speak to someone in person. Moving to Ballard and renting from BPM has been such a positive experience. more

I wanted to put a review up because I really appreciated what the staff at Ballard Realty did in getting the new refrigerator so promptly to my mother this past Monday. I especially want to acknowledge the handyman (I don't know his name) that so efficiently worked on picking out such a nice refrigerator for her and all the hard work he did in getting it upstairs and removing the old one. He deserves an Oscar for what he did. I am always very satisfied with the promptness and professionalism demonstrated by everyone who works at Ballard Realty. more

For starters, I would give this business ZERO stars if I could. All of the property managers lack customer service. I was in there office to ask some simple questions, and overheard people who are supposed to be managers talking poorly about their renters and owners. I was shocked and could not believe they would be talking like that in front of a customer. ALso, whenever I wanted to speak with a manager, they were never available. I should have walked away instead of signing the lease because I was a few minutes late and had called to let them know and instead of being understanding when I got there only 5 min late, I had to sit around waiting another 10-15 min for the property manager to finish eating/drinking something. Then I was told, "since you were late, we will have to sign the lease quick because I have to go to the gym". Unbelievable! Stay away from this place, they could care less about their renters. more

Very cranky people. Just visit their office and you will notice. Avoid, there are many other options in Seattle. I was a customer of this place in the past and I am positive the only 5 star reviews are from their own staff. Hint: change your terrible attitude and invest in customer service training... more

I too experienced poor customer service as a renter, including lack of clear communication about the termination of my lease and sending a repair person into my apt. without confirming the time/date with me first. They didn't strike me as particularly organized or focused at all on customer service. Most surprising was their typo in the vacate date they issued to me at the termination of my lease and their subsequent request of me to lie to their property owner about their error. That was pretty unbelievable. I'm sorry to say they were horribly lacking in professionalism, ethics, and customer service. I seriously recommend avoiding Ballard Realty. more

The staff is so professional and friendly. I really feel like they value me as a renter which is sometimes a hard thing to find in a landlord. I plan on staying with Ballard Realty for a while. more

Ballard Property Management has truly been a pleasure to work with in all ways. Their staff is amazing. Their office location is awesome. The building I live in is always kept up. My maintenance requests are always handled promptly. I can't say enough good things about this Seattle Property Management Company. A breath of fresh air compared to what I have dealt with renting in the past. Good work! more

I am not sure why there is so much negative stuff about this company??? Property management seems like a very difficult job and in my opinion they do it exceptionally. I think some people may be being a little senstive about some things. They manage my building and myself and all of my tenants have always been very happy with their service. They are family operated so you get a different feel from them than a large company. Their location is ideal and you can walk in anytime and talk to someone. when I call I rarely get a voicemail and they are super prompt when responding to emails as well. In property management I know you deal with so many different people and you definitely can't please everyone. I think that is where the negative comments come from. I just wanted to put in my two cents since I am a loyal happy customer and have been for years. more

My roommate and I were very unhappy with Ballard Realty. I'll start with the positives. They were easy to contact and quick with repairs. As for the negatives, they did not ask for permission to enter our apt. on three different occasions (2 for repairs and 1 for showing the apt), they sent a letter to tell us they were showing the apt and did not confirm, they rarely checked the premise, and they were aloof, arrogant, and a bit rude over the phone and in person. We thought the apt was overpriced for what it was. They weren't horrible managers, but their communication skills were extremely lax and unprofessional. more

Good: Very open and honest. All the negative reviewers need to learn to understand the rental market. What do they expect, Ballard Realty to do work for free? Get real people. As companies go, this was a very honest place to work with. I rented with them for many years and never had any issues. When I had repairs that needed to be completed, then held up their end up the deal. If parts are back ordered, don't blame Ballard Realty. Keep up the good work girls. Outstanding.. Bad: Nothing. Except having to pay rent. Sorry, was wanting something for nothing. J/K. Improvements: The owners (sisters) showing some more skin.. Other: Again, those with negative comments need to learn how to read. Their lease agreement is straight forward. If you don't clean, don't be shocked to not get your deposit back. If you rent a car and don't put gas in it, you get charged. Why would this be any different.. more

After searching for what seemed like forever in this tough rental market I found the greatest rental through Ballard Realty. I spent several hours looking at the available apartments with the property manager and she was so helpful and patient. The whole process was smooth and before I knew it I was settled into my new apartment in Ballard. I love it. These guys are great! I am shocked to read the other reviews. more

I have been renting from Ballard Property Management for several years and have been so pleased with the level of service I have received. The staff has always been so attentive and quick to solve any maintenance concerns that I have. I know they manage many apartments around Ballard, but I always feel as if I am their only tenant when speaking to them. I would recommend this family business to anyone looking to rent a fabulous apartment with a excellent level of professionalism from the staff! more

I have never dealt with more unprofessional and vindictive people in my life. They approved of renters that did not complete their application. They told us in writing that we would not be charged any Management Fees until they had rented our place. After we terminated our contract with them, they forced us to pay fees from 3 months back! I have statements each month that indicate no fees were charged. Now 3 months later they are charging us. That's like showing us a menu where the entree is $20.00 and then giving us a bill of $40.00. It took them 3 months to find renters that didn't complete a full application. It took us 1 weekend to find a renter that makes more than 5 times the rent. Thank god. I have heard other complaints about this company. You can read others on the other review sites. Stay away from Ballard Realty as an Owner or a Renter! more

Very unprofessional, and between my girlfriend and myself, the worst rental agency we've ever had to deal with. Maintenance issues can take weeks to get done, and often you have to call them back to remind them of your problem because they haven't done anything about it yet. I've lived here over a year and a half and they still haven't fixed a door thats been broken since before I moved in, not to mention it took well over a month to get my washer replaced. They also have no real idea on what they are trying to sell. We should have walked away when the representative wasn't able to answer any of our questions upon our walk through, and acted surprised when we asked her about painting. We asked if we could paint if we returned it to its former color when we moved out. She replied as long as everything is white again, to which we replied that the walls were currently a medium green. The worst part, she was in the house with us. They also didn't know that most of the windows upstairs were missing screens when we moved in and now that I'm moving are trying to charge me for them even though it was written on the move in walk though checklist. To this day, they still haven't figured out the correct address. All maintenance and mail they send comes to a street several blocks away. Avoid this cooperation like the plague! more

Ballard Realty has a very casual and disorganized attitude towards property management. You would have to call in multiple times, because the person you talk would not know the answer to your question. When they have a conflict, they are in-apt to handle the situation professionally. Talking to a manager or a partner would not solve the problem either; they would just tell you that whatever the conflict is, they wont do a dime to accomodate your constraints. Dealing with them reminded me of dealing with a large cable company's customer service operators. I'd strongly recommend against Ballard Reality. more
