Basically, Bagel Oasis Pros: food is fair Cons: The owner, mgr, and the whole place its self. more

Used to work there... 5/4/2009

I agree with most everything that has been said so far. I actually worked there about 4 years ago and it was pretty much the same then. I can promise however, that even though the main dining room is messy, they are super strict about cleanliness in the BOH. I actually baked the bagels myself, and everything was as clean as can be, not to mention the bagels go through like a 500 degree oven. Even the prep stations are clean, thank goodness its Kosher or that might not be the case. I pretty much love EVERYTHING on the menu, and its ALL made from scratch! My favs: Plain Bagel un toasted with salmon CC, the Hot Emerald Sandwich, the Tomato Havarti melt and ANY SOUP! Pros: Great Food Cons: Not So Clean more

Good bagels, crappy service. 5/25/2008

I've been going to Bagel Oasis for at least ten years, and though the bagels have been consistently good, the service has always been pretty bad. I agree with the 4/8 post, that the place is dirty--it's true, a bunch of people ""work"" there but no one ever takes the time to clean the tables. It's a pain that whenever you sit down you have to wipe your own table down unless you want a bunch of bagel crumbs/etc stuck to your arm. Pros: Bagels! Cons: Service, dirty tables, loud more

Hasn't improved... 4/8/2008

Unfortunately I have to agree with the other comments on this page. Bagel Oasis has potential to be great and a corner on the Greenlake/Ravenna bagel market since the only other places in the immediate area to get bagels are merely coffee shops. Pros: Only place to get a bagel in the neighborhood Cons: Rude service, dirty dining room more

Great bagels with a side of screaming kids 4/5/2008

The bagels here are great. I am originally from the east coast and these are by far the best bagels I've found in Seattle. However, I've stopped going here, because the place is so annoying. The staff is slow and rude, it's always sort of dirty, and it's constantly overrun with screaming kids running everywhere. I am a mother myself but I would NEVER let my kid behave in public the way the kids hanging out here act. more

Great bagels, poor service 5/12/2007

I will have to echo what the last reviewer said about the service. I feel forced to go here as it is one of the few bagel shops north of the ship canal, and the bagels are fairly good. The service however, is not. If you go here when there are a just a few people in front of you, you will wait for what seems like an eternity for your order. At times, I have waited 20, 25, and 30 minutes for a cold-cut bagel sandwich when the wait did not seem to warrant that much time. There just seems to be an air of pandemonium behind the counter at times. I will also say that consistency is the sandwiches could use improvement as well. How the same sandwich is made really depends on who is making it. Also, if a place is going to offer soda pop, then have the supplies on-hand to make sure it is stocked. Overall, the bagels are really good, there's nothing better than a buttered bialy or a roast beef sandwich to tide me over, the bagels are made fresh throughout the day, and the ingredients are fresh and tasty. But getting to that point can be a difficult experience. I will return when I am not in a hurry. Pros: Quality of food, fresh bagels Cons: Service, consistency of menu items more

If you want bad service... 10/13/2006

Unfortunately, this is one of the few bagel places left in Seattle that you can actually get a fresh bagel at anymore. So I am forced to have to go here for my bagel fix. Not only is the layout confusing, with too many little lines forming all over the place, you place your order and it takes them forever to get it to you. There are way too many people behind the counter for the service to be as slow as it is. It took me over 15 minutes today to get 4 plain bagels and a schmear of cream cheese, with only 1 customer in front of me! There were 3 people behind the counter doing NOTHING. Luckily, today the bagels did not look over done like they have the past couple of weeks, otherwise I think I would have asked for my money (and my tip) back before I finally rec'd my order... Pros: Parkikng is easy. Cons: Service is terrible! more

Remodeled! 4/25/2004

The Bagel Oasis has changed it's shabby interior, and is looking great!! Better set up for sitting, fresh paint, new counter arrangement. And the staff is actually quite nice, trying harder to be faster, and more efficient. I love going in, on my way to work. One of my new favorite spots. Great salt bagels, and selections for vegetarians as well! Pros: vegetarian options, newly remodeled more

Not worth the wait 2/28/2003

The service was very slow, probably becuase half the employees stand around doing nothing. When we finally got our food it was cold. Definitley not as good as Pike Place Bagels. Cons: slow, cold food more

Wicked Sourdough Bagels 8/6/2002

Wicked sourdough bagels. The rest of the food is mediocre. The place needs a serious paint job and cleaning up. Pros: Wicked Bagels Cons: Gross atmosphere more
