Rita is the best in the world. Rita worked her magic and made me look like a real celebrity. I have been going to Rita for a long, long time now and I am so happy to be one her many happy clients at Astor Place! She is the most professional, courteous and talented stylist I have ever been to and I have been to many top salons all over Manhattan. Jose is the best, I've been going to him a couple years now and he always gives me the perfect cut. My hair is kind of thin and so its not that easy to cut, but Jose does a great job and I am always happy. I came in and I ask the receptionist for the "best" hairstylist. They send me to Alan. I went over his chair and he ask me what I like about my hair. I told him that my hair is too heavy , too dark. I told him ; " Do something with it!! Alan then gave me a fabulous shape , and a very natural low lights. It's settle, it's very very natural, it's great! Alan is very cool. I WAS SKEPTICAL AT FIRST , BUT ALAN DELIVER THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COLOR I EVER GOT DONE IN MY HAIR LIFE ,( I MEAN THIS IS AMAZING, HE MIXES 3 DIFFERENT COLORS, GIVING ME , THE MOST WONDERFUL LOOK I NOW ADORE. I over heard a few of the hair dressers plotting to trash one of the most popular hair dressers on City Search. How awful! Shame on them for being so jealous and unprofessional. It has been found out there is a jealous co-worker at Astor Place who every couple of days it seems will post something negative about Rita at CitySearch. DO NOT BELIEVE IT! It's an awful act. I am coming here as a regular client again to speak the truth about Rita, our favorite stylist and a beautiful person inside and out! If you know Rita, you love Rita for her craft and her HUGE heart! How dare they? What a shame to stoop so low. What if someone did this to you? You can tell its the same person because its always written the same way in horrible broken-English from an uneducated co-worker. We don't do that in OUR country! Rita is a talented, hard worker and an angel of a person and for someone to act so childish and rude is a terrible act. Rita takes care of her mother and she works very hard to give her mom the very best care possible. Can you even look at yourself in the mirror knowing this? I am another fan of the famous Astor Place Hair and a super-stylist who is Rita! She is by far the most popular stylist in the place and its easy to see why. She is without a doubt the most brilliant stylist in the big City! I go to Rita for everything under the sun - haircuts, color and even her sunny highlights that everyone raves about . She comes through with flying colors every time! Rita always seems to know exactly how I want to look and she does it professionally and always in stride. There is nothing she can't do. She gives her clients "Star" treatment and I always leave her chair like I am walking on a big cloud. I always can't wait to show off my my new look to my friends and family. I am a very blond girl, that it was very tired of coloring my hair every other month. I had Hi lighted hair. I made an appointment after seeing Alan web site, " Braziliankeratinnyc com ". Actually I needed my hair done to go to Miami, for two weeks. I came in at , 2 PM , Alan show me all three color charges , so we could pic a color . He stay with me , explain , and gave me a great feeling of security. We , the clients are become more and more aware of how things are done, and how good ( or not) the hair services are. I AM ONE OF THE " EDUCATED CLIENTS" ! WELL I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT ALAN IS ARTIST! After the Color I stay there for another 45 minutes for my Keratin treatment. ( What a great conditioner) Took all the frizz out of my hair, ( when I wake up in the morning, I was amazed to see that my hair is silk shine , like a baby's hair. I found Rita on Citysearch last month and am so happy with the results! She created beautiful highlights and a gorgeous cut- more than my expectations. When I realized that she is a real Star herself ( a makeup and hair person for TV and Celebrities), I couldn't be luckier than to have gotten an appointment with her.
