To the one person who keeps posting "fake reviews", Astor Place has over 65 full time stylists which is why they get so many honest reviews. And why would customers of Astor Place review other places? The reviews are from many satisfied customers, not professional columnists who get to review multiple salons. That makes sense doesn't it? Now please get a life and find something else to do with your time! I personally have been a loyal customer for many years and have always used Domenick who I like very very much. I need a simple conservative haircut and he fits the bill. I have many friends, both men and women, who go to some of the other talented stylists at Astor as well and they are just as happy as me. The economy is terrible right now and Astor Place place affords you the luxury of not breaking your bank just to look good. Thank you Domenick and Astor Place Hair for keeping it simple for me! Astor Place Hair is the Place to Go 1/21/2009

Whoever keeps writing the reviews titled "Fake Reviews" is ruining this site and he/she is doing exactly what he/she is accusing other reviewers; he/she is only doing one review and changing their sign in name to write the same thing over and over. I have been coming to Astor Place Hair since I was a child and come into the City from out on the Island; it is the only place to get good quality hair styles, color, highlights the works and it is affordable. So whoever the coward is writing garbage, knock it off!! Astor Place Hair has been around too long and survived to have this nonsense happening. more

The Place to be!!! 1/21/2009

Astor PLace has been my salon of choice for over 5 years and I wouldn't even think of going anywhere else. Times are very tough and the fact you can still get quality haircuts, color, highlights and anything else you want without taking food off your table to do so says a lot. My stylist has been Suzy for all this time and she is excellent! Nuff said... Pros: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! more

Rita and Astor Place are unbeatable! 1/21/2009

I will never go to one of those over-priced, over-hyped salons again! Not when you have someone as great as Rita at the very affordable Astor Place. Okay, so its not the best looking place around, but when you are in Rita's chair nothing else really matters. Rita gets tons of great feedback on all the review websites, thats how I discovered her. I may not have a way with words like some others, but all my experiences with Rita the past few months have been great! She designs personal and unique looks and as a colorist, she is second to none! This girl has made me beautiful time and time again! She is a joy to be around as well with her infectious, positive energy. No reason to go anywhere else once you find your perfect spot and your perfect stylist. My highest marks all around to Rita and the unbeatable Astor Place! Great Place 1/21/2009

I have been coming to Astor Place Hair for over 20 years (practically on a weekly basis for a trim, shave, etc.) where there are ~100 hair stylists and great prices. When I was there the other day I was shocked to over hear some of the men who work there discussing posting their own reviews and bad mouthing others in their own place of business. Shame on you and you know who you are, I can point you all out to your boss & if you do not stop the unprofessional behavior I will. Alan is the most sweet guy, and what a professional. He gave me me hi klights, and haircut, that made feel a super goodlooking girl. All together Alan is great stylist. Rita is the best hair stylist & make up artist 1/21/2009

I went to Rita for the first time yesterday and she is the best. Rita is a big shot in the industry and you would never know because she is fun and approachable. Rita listened to what I wanted and delivered it all and more. I hated my hair before I went to Rita. Now I am loving my beautiful, natural and shiny hair. The only reason to go to Astor Place Hair is an appointment with Rita! more

Best Professional Make Over & Facial 1/20/2009

I want everyone to know that I had the best professional make over and facial with Rita and it did not break my piggy bank. In the spirit of helpng others, I want to tell my story I lost my job and was out of work for almost 8 months and every interview was a dead end. I read the recruiter reviews on City Search and knew I needed an edge to get a job so I had the best experience and results with Rita. I look 10+ years younger and my next interview got me the job! I always go to City Search (even when I travel) to get the top picks and I must say this is the first time I felt strongly about anything to take the time to write a review. The Best Highlights Ever 1/20/2009

I don't write reviews ever until now; I felt I had to after going to Rita. My hair was in bad shape with "checker board high;ights" and fried! Rita gave me back my natural beautiful hair; I look like I was born with the golden blond hair and gorgeous sunny highlights. Rita gave me the best highlights ever. Astor Place in the Village is a nice local salon to go to for affordable haircuts and lots of other services. I personally have been using Sergio who is wonderful! He is an expert I would say, at quick inexpensive haircuts. He has been in the business a long time and it shows. For my needs, its Sergio and Astor Place every time! I read all about Rita on the web & in magazines and realized who she really is, a famous celebrity hair and make up artist. I knew this was an opportunity of a life time so I made an appointment for a total make over. I look incredible and it is all thanks to Rita;my family & friends think I had plastic surgery so I tell them I had the best experience of my life with Rita. The only reason to go to Astor Place is their Star who is always saving the day of all the mistakes out there. Yes, I am talking about the one and only talented Rita. You have to make an appointment directly with her and you will be very happy with your results. Rita is a real celebrity make up artist and hair stylists; she is brillant when it comes to all your hair needs and taking at least 10 years off your looks. We can all use someone like Rita; before I found Rita I had brassy, over processed hair and now I have gorgeous, shiny, amazing hair with sun kissed highlights. Don't just take my word for it, try Rita yourself. Great place for haircuts cuts, styles esp Domenick. 1/19/2009

I love Astor Place, I have been going there for years. It is much different than just a salon. It feels like friends are there. I have been using Domenick for a long while and he is a great stylist. Always pleasant, always a gentleman. There are other talents there as well, my wife uses Suzy who is also excellent. Times are tough, thank goodness for Astor Place because it won't break your bank account. I give 5 Stars to Astor Place! Pros: Feels like home to me more

I use Irma at Astor Hair for all my beauty needs, she is a real pro. I recently had her re-do my color and it came out beautifully! Irma is tops in my book and I will go back regularly. I have been going to Rita at Astor Place for cuts and color for quite some time now and I feel lucky and blessed to know such a gifted and all around wonderful person. She is not just a stylist - Rita is more like an artist who takes such pride in her work and always goes to great lengths to make sure her clients are taken care of. Besides myself, I have referred at least a half a dozen friends to her who are all ecstatic with her talents and upbeat attitude. I can honestly say, all of us have never looked better! I am a woman with a high-profile position and I always need to be on top of my game as far as my look is concerned and Rita has been a blessing for me to keep me at my absolute best. As if being incredible at cuts and color weren't enough, she has even recently added Reiki facials and full makeovers to her services in her private makeover room! Rita has easily taken 10 years off my face. Cuts, color, killer highlights, facials, makeovers...Rita is exceptional at everything she does! She is pure class. You will love her because all of her clients do. If you are going to give Astor Place a try I highly recommend calling Rita for an appointment. She is definitely worth the wait!
