it's more than slightly painful... it hurts A LOT. and it takes more than "a few" sessions to be hair free... you'll be looking at upwards of a year (the lower the intensity they use during your session, the less it'll hurt, but the less effect it has on the follicle, which translates to having to go in for more sessions. On the other hand, if you do the higher intensity, the pain can border on unbearable, but you'll require fewer sessions. Hormones also play into it. Do not go when you have your period because you feel more pain. In the end however, the hair will be gone forever, so it's worth the sacrifice (and high cost) if you can handle the pain.
