I live in the New York City and wanted to send flowers to my mother for her birthday. I have been very turned off by flowers and florists outside of the city for years due to their lack of creativity and overall quality. How many different ways can you arrange the same carnations, mums and baby's breath.
A friend of mine told me about Lilac which is in Ardsley right near where my mom lives in Hartsdale. She said that she got flowers for her anniversary from there and they were breath-taking!! I called over there to see if they could make something special for my mother. The girl on the phone (its a family business, I learned) was extremely cheerful,helpful and knowledgeable. My mother was more than pleased when she received the arrangement -she was elated! I prayed that the flowers were as beautiful and fresh when I went to go visit her over the weekend. I sent them on Monday morning. When I visited my mom on Sunday evening, the flowers looked brand-new and glorious. My mother told me that they lasted for a good while. The arrangement was comparable (if not better) than the arrangements at some of the top florists in the city...for half-the price!!! It was a mix of lilies, orchids, berries, roses as well as some other interesting stuff.
Just about 2 weeks ago, I sent my sister who lives in Scarsdale, a Thanksgiving centerpiece! She was able to send me pictures of it. I spent $60 dollars. It was beautiful. Sunflowers, fruits, leaves, berries, this purple lettuce flower, roses-it was gorgeous.
I just placed my order today for two Christmas centerpieces one for my mom and one for my sister!
Its a small store, family owned and operated, nice people with an amazing selection of flowers and talent.
Pros: Beautiful selection of flowers, personal service, high-end designs!
