Review content:
As a music lover, i have attended many a show here in beautiful Denver, and the Bluebird is by far the worst venue i have ever been to. The Bluebird has an ill-posted rule that anyone under the age of 21 cannot be on the floor, near the stage. Underaged members of the crowd are required to stay in the balcony, 100 feet from the stage. What this means: Anyone who is under 21 has a ticket that is worth much less and is in for a sub-par show. I feel much of my anger was due to the fact that I paid the same amount as all other patrons, yet my place in the venue wasn't even worth half of the ticket price. The balcony is very small, very cramped, and the sound from this area is absolutely atrocious. Now, upon the start of the particular show I was attending, some friends and myself attempted to go down to the floor, unknowingly breaking this rule. Upon the arrival to the floor, my friends and I were treated horribly by the staff members, were threatened with violence and were forcably sent back upstairs to the balcony. As a music lover, one should be able to enjoy the music from anywhere one pleases, and should not be segregated by age. If they do not want younger audience members on the floor, the Bluebird management should retool their establishments age requirements for shows, or at least offer cheaper tickets for the balcony. Almost all other successful venues in the Denver area, such as the Fillmore, Gothic, etc, allow mixed crowds. Please, if you are under the age of 21 or enjoy music more than the bar, I am urging you to never attend the Bluebird. The employees are rude, violent, use brutal tactics, and use their athourity in an ridiculous manor to control the younger audience members. No show is enjoyable at a venue such as this, and my friends and I will never attend another show at the Bluebird theater. I highly encourage you to do the same.
