Inn on The Bourbon hotel New Orleans 7/29/2006

On our trip to New Orleans we stayed at the The Ramada Plaza Inn in the heart of the French Quarter, on lively Bourbon and Toulouse streets and at the epicenter of the city's energy and nightlife. In fact, the Ramada's balconies are often popular vantage points during the annual Mardi Gras parade. From the hotel, guests can stroll one block to famous Pat O'Brien's Bar ( We went there most nights )or skip across the street to the Tropical Isle for cocktails. Guests also are blocks from the eclectic shops and cafes of the Riverwalk Market Place, Harrah's Casino and the Aquarium of the Americas. At the hotel, guests can dine on American cuisine, gumbo, jambalaya ( One of my favorites ) and other local favorites at the Bourbon Street Café. The hotel also features an outdoor pool in a stone courtyard, fitnecenter, business center, 24- hour front desk, evening room service, bar and lounge, coffee shop and an on-site gift shop that sells artwork and gifts. The 186 guestrooms come with balconies, paintings and colonial-style wood furnishings. Additional amenities provided are satellite television, high- speed Internet access, minibars, coffeemakers and private bathrooms. We stayed at the front of the hotel and all night long there was people having fun. We did not sleep all the time we were there. http://www.frenchquarterhotels.com/innonbourbon/ more
