The Evergreen Aviation Museum is somewhere that we had driven by many times before we finally decided to make it the destination and we were very glad we did. It has some very cool things to see if you are at all interested in aviation, which both my husband and young son are.
Of course, the most famous aircraft housed here is the famous Spruce Goose, the airplane that belonged to eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes. Seeing this much-celebrated plane up close was very interesting.
In addition, they also have impressive collection of other aircraft- you should try to get on one of the tours that are conducted by volunteers that used to fly the actual planes on display.
The museum is a little off the beaten parth, but it makes a nice and enjoyable day trip from Portland.

This is a wonderful store if you are crafy at all with your own invitations and cards. I first found myself in here when I needed to make some invitations for a bridal shower and have been back many times to get some supplies to make some other fun things.
As well as one of the best selections of paper in the area (stationery, card stock, vellum, etc.), they also carry lots of crafting supplies (think scrapbooking, art, rubber stamping) and small gifts.
The prices are reasonable and the staff is very helpful.

It is also a very reasonable place to order custom inviations, as I did for my wedding a few years ago. After checking with several places for what I needed, they were the best deal around, and the service was very professional as well.
This store is a fun place to browse - a nice selection of beautiful notecards, gift items, etc. at good prices. The only negative I have is that parking in that complex can be very tight at times.

Pastaworks is a fabulous deli - in my opinion, it is one of the best in the area, although it is also one of the spendiest. As their name suggests, they began by selling fresh pasta, but now are even more known for their yummy salads and other deli treats!
They also carry a great selection of wines, and there are many specialty items for sale here as well.
If you feel like picking up ingredients for an upscale picnic, and don't mind paying a little bit more for your food, you should definitely pay a visit to Pastaworks!

We took our two dogs to Westmoreland Veterinary when we lived in SE Portland and they were always treated with care here. Even the most basic and routine procedures and vaccinations were explained to us and they always took the time to remember our dogs' names and to treat them with care and respect, especially after they had surgery (both pets were neutered). Our neighbor's cat went here also and they were similarly complimentary of the care they received.
Their charges were not excessive and they do offer discounts on vaccinations on certain days (I believe it's 10% and I think it's Tuesday or Wednesday, but you should ask about this).
I always felt comfortable leaving our dogs there and I would definitely recommend this clinic to other pet owners.

This small but stylish looking office is in the Safeway Murrayhill complex right next to Beaverton Bakery. I have been seeing one of the owners (Dr. Diane), who is partners with her husband, for over 10 years and she is wonderful. Very patient, explains all the procedures and takes great care of my eye health. She offers me information on the latest procedures in case I want to find out more, but has never pressured me to do anything that I am not ready for.
She was actually recommended to me by a former co-worker and I, in turn, have recommended her to other friends over the years.
The support staff is also friendly, and helpful when it comes to figuring out insurance issues, etc. They also have a very nice selection of eyewear available for purchase.

The prices are great - I have not sold there, but as a buyer you can find some super deals. The quality of the items are quite good, better than I have found at many other consignment or thrift stores.
If you're looking for some fun and hip "new to you" clothes, this is worth a stop. Parking can be a pain, as it is located in the Hawthorne district, so keep that in mind if you are planning a visit.

This cute little shoe store in Westmoreland (at the corner of Bybee and Milwaukie) is a fun one to visit if you have kids. They are known for their cute and funky footwear for children, plus they have other accessories (tights, socks, belts, etc.) and a small selection of clothing and gifts as well. Adorable little boots for puddle jumping and high-end European shoes for the well-dressed child - this store has it all. Their prices are definitely on the high side, but the items they sell are high quality and worth the extra money if you have it to spend on shoes.
The staff is quite friendly and helpful and the store itself is fun to poke around in and is user-friendly for kids.
If you can't find a spot to park on the strreet in front, you can use the public lot just one block down and across the street.

This place was recommended to me a few years ago, and now I always try to take my dry cleaning here. The prices are very reasonable and they have very quick turnaround - one day, sometimes two. I have never had any problems - no clothing has ever been ruined or lost and items are always cleaned properly - whatever stains they cannot get out, they make sure to tell you.
The one drawback I've found is that it is popular enough that there is often a line for dropping off or picking up items, but it usually moves pretty quickly. If you are in a hurry or have small kids with you, though, this can be a problem - something to keep in mind.

I trusted them to handle the flowers for my wedding done and they did an amazing job. They took time to go over everything with me as I picked out what I wanted and made very some helpful suggestions that I ended up using.
The table arrangements, boquets and boutennieres they made for me were absolutely beautiful!! I was more than happy with everything they did - not only great service and the beautiful flowers, but their prices were great too!
