With the construction of the Home Depot a couple of years ago, I would have thought that this place would have gone bankrupt and shut down, but miraculously, they haven't, and for good reason. The employees here are the most helpful people I've encountered, possibly at any store. While Home Depot has the size and goods, their employees pale in comparison to the ones at Gilroys. The moment you step in the door, they immediately ask you what you need, and help you find it, so you're out the door in no time. While Home Depot maybe good for contractors, regular folks are probably better served at Gilroys.
