As long as you don't go on the weekends, you'll have a great experience. I made the mistake of going on a holiday weekend, it was packed. The fish are still great, the whales, etc, but, I felt a little like I was in a fishbowl with the huge crowd...I went one other time on a Thursday, fantastic! Then you really can get a great viewing experience.
Pros: amazing
Cons: crowded on weekends

Look, I run a small business and I've been lucky enough to travel all over the world, and when I see someone who does it right, and its right in my backyard, I stop talking about what I know and soak up the feel and knowledge from a group of pros.
I honestly love these guys and so do a ton of other people.
Some people tell stories of how they go to a barber's shop to hear great stories, I go to Sig's and I always leave with a smile on my face.
+ Interesting stories happen all the time there: When the press was all over Richard Jewel for the explosions at the Olympics, I came in after the morning rush and someone leaned over the counter to me and said, "I know what they're saying, Vince, but that boy doesn't look smart enough to pull that off...."
+ Another time, "Vince, you know one of my customers came in here angry (editors note -- she had seen a TV expose about how cleaner's overcharge women for their clothes relative to men) and told me that I was overcharging her. I looked at her and I told her, I charge the same for women who bring in their dresses to me as I do for the men who bring in their dresses to me." Classic.
+ Walked in one day and the place was full of clothes -- Jimmy Buffet's band's been a big customer for years every time the tour's through Atlanta, where do they go? Sig's
+ One day the window was boarded up, before I could ask, "Vince, lady thought she hit reverse and had the car in drive -- came right through. She's okay though; scared us, but she's okay"
I've been in and out of there since 1991 and that's really the Atlanta I've known, not the 4x4 suburbs and not the Latte intown -- its that real cross section of people (who I guess are into clean clothes too) that I will always remember.
Business owners, before you read a "dummies" book, send a few suits an shirts to Sig's talk to them, look at how they run their business and take notes.
The best thing is that they know my name. When I moved away and came back two years later, they asked where I'd been. When I sold a house, and hadn't been in for a while, they said that they had heard about the sale (in the newspaper) and was worried that I left.
I sound like some cult member, I know, but I scold people who try the dry-clean franchise places. I always shake my head and tell them that they'll be back. The one's I've told that to -- they come back.
I honestly think that this is one of the few places in Atlanta that is probably under-charging the market for the service and quality they deliver. Larry, his brothers, their family and their team there are top not.

Ok, I don't usually write these reviews, but we recently took our boys (ages 10-13) here for their birthday party and it was fantastic! We basically had the place to ourselves. We found the staff very accomodating; they encouraged the boys and gave them pointers on how to make it up the walls. We, the parents, didn't have to do anything; we took pictures and watched. The boys loved the physical challenge and (at the end) the competition of racing each other up the wall. You could see the confidence, determination and satisfaction on their faces with each climb. Our boys commented, "This was the best party ever!" I would highly recommend this place, especially if you have high energy kids like ours!
Pros: Kids really get a workout.

This is another great place to take out of town visitors. If you are a news fan, then this is a great tour, even if you aren't a news fan- it's worth the $10 admission! There are lots of neat facts about CNN and a tour guide will walk you through the building. They will show you a newsroom, tell you about the different news channels across the globe and you get to see a lot of neat behind the scenes things. The building is pretty nice too. When you are done, you can browse in the gift shop or eat from one of the cafes in the food court.

Note: it's not known as a 'high tech' museum so it's silly to expect it as such. The planetarium is wonderful...if you're not really interested in stars you're probably better off going somewhere else but I found it to be quite a treat. A nice break from the city as well

Park Pet Supply is located in the East Atlanta Village. They carry all of the really top-end pet foods that you cannot buy at the grocery store or Petsmart (Innova, Canidea, Chicken Soup, Wellness, California Natural, etc.) and the prices are good. What is really great about this place is the expertise you recieve from the employees. They really know their stuff with regard to animal nutrition & supplements, which is great. They carry a pretty good selecion of toys, treats, etc. and they will order anything you want that they don't carry. They also have a frequent buyer program, and after 10 visits you get a free pack of treats (your choice which kind, some of them run $15+ per package). They have added some new services recently, like a groomer (and a do-it-yourself dog wash station), and a pet artist (you can have your pooch's face commissioned!). They also help out with dog & cat rescue and always have at least one of each roaming around the store looking for a new home. And, of course, your animals are welcome while you shop!
