You will not be disappointed in the Woodruff Arts Center. Very professional staff and volunteers, an elegant interior and attractive exterior make this the place to go for a great show. Parking can be tough but the Center is within walking distance of Marta. I have enjoyed all of the performances at Woodruff and can't say anything bad about it.

the only 18-hole golf course inside the perimeter. The course has been revamped and made more difficult. Supposedly it has gone up to PGA level, but i'm not sure on that. Also the surrounding neighborhood is one of atlanta's more gorgeous. The golf shop is expensive, i mean it is a private golf club. Also there are some celebrity guests, such as GA tech's coach Paul Hewitt, emory's board of directors/president/provost. A large number of faculty members at emory are members at the club.

The VSA Arts of Georgia offers a fantastic and unique gallery for the people of Atlanta to enjoy. Most of the work featured is by artists who have disabilities. Some of the work focuses on how the artists deal with their disability while other work is of more 'normal' subject matter. Some of the work is amazingly good and all of it is worth looking into. The gallery has been open for 30 years and has been doing a great job allowing artists of all different viewpoints to share their work.

If you are a Baptist and in the Emory area, this is the place to go to have all your questions answered. I am not Baptist but have many friends who are, and a few visited this place when they had questions about their faith. They seemed to be very caring and understanding and more than willing to help people.

Piedmont Park is a great place to meet all kinds of people. The festivals are fantastic. From the dogwood festival in spring to Gay Pride in the summer, it's always full. Always under renovation too, unfortunatly it has to happen to keep the park great. There are summer movie festivals, called screen on the green and they're free and a blast. Great place to walk the dog, run, roller blad or skateboard. Small lake, tennis courts and lawns to lay out on. Restaurants around the perimeter

More
Although I did find our visit to the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum very educational, I also found it a bit boring. Naturally, this museum focuses around Jimmy Carter. It tells about his youth, his life in the Navy, his marriage to Rosalynn, his early political career in the 1960s and '70s, his Presidential campaigning and, of course, his Presidency. There is a full size replica of The Oval Office when Jimmy Carter was President, which I did find kind of interesting. To be honest, I found the area containing the Gifts of State and the Museum Store to be the most "exciting" areas.

More
I have been unemployed since Nov. 2004. I have always held a job or two paying taxes for 34 years. In Nov. 2004 I was released from my job due to lack of work since congress passed the Check 21 Bill and checks can now be presented electronically. I know I was one of the chosen to be laid off due to my health issues causing bad reactions, decisions, and attendance. The main health issue of concern is a diagnosis of Chronic Diareah, Depression, and High Anxiety. I have also had 3 back surgeries. I was not able to walk, stand or sit at all before the 3rd surgery. Since that surgery I have always had severe pain and numbness in my feet, lower legs and sometimes the groin yet I still went to work. I have also been diagnosed with High Blood Pressure, Hypertension, and migraine headaches. I am on several medications which make me drowsy and not as alert at times. With all of this I have already been turn down twice for my SSI Disability Benefits. First I was told my file got lost is one reason it has taken so long for a turn down decision. My Lawyer as well as several other lawyers have told me this is normal procedure because the money I paid in 34 years is not available and the next step will be going before a judge in about another year. I have already lived on all of my savings, my 401k, and my retirement pension, all gone. I have absolutely no money for my medication, doctor, home or bills. I do have a roommate who is barely able to make the mortgage payments alone. I just cannot sit and wait another year on our government while our country spends BILLIONS bombing, rebuilding and assisting other countrys when our own country cannot even help it's own citizens. I was born in this country and worked 34 years paying SSI and all other taxes and I cannot believe what is happening to me. Most of the Gulf coast looks like a war zone, and this is OUR country. We seem to be able to find the money to keep sending our troops to another country to die yet we don't have the money to take care of the many needs of our own country. What a shame. Congress needs to take immediate action to restore our country. When Bush took office all tax payers received an extra tax refund because of an overage. Oil companies, and pharmaceutical companys report record profits. It is the tax payers, U.S. citizens, making them richer as we common folk become poor. Something really needs to be done about our SSI disability program. Question- why can't Bush put a freeze on gas prices the way Carter did when he was in office? Is it because he owns oil wells himself? Sounds like a conflict of interest as well as price gouging. They do not care a thing about the poor or common people.
