A.I. Friedman is tucked away in the lower midtown district of art and paper stores, and while the have the obligatory range of paper and art supplies, they also feature an upscale selection of portfolios and bags, as well as high-end design furniture (Eames, Herman Miller, etc.). They also have a small selection of gifts and cards. While not as fun as nearby Paper Presentation or as comprehensive as other more specialized art stores, AIF is a nice addition to the neighborhood and is a good place to buy gifts or hard-to-find items.
