My family contacted Villa Santa Barbara during a time that a loved one needed to transition from independent to assisted living. We were told by an administrative representative that they offered individualized care at a ratio of one caregiver to six residents. We subsequently learned that the actual ratio of care providers to residents was more like 17 to 1. Despite the package sold, the care provided was nowhere near the level conveyed. Be very careful to research the facility you entrust a loved one to especially when the staff is less than adequate. One has to question, ""how much do they really care""?
