I wasn't expecting a lot when we dropped into Ruby's Cafe in Jarrell, just wanted to try out the new place in town. BOY, were we surprised.
Best chicken fried steak I've had in 50 years or so of eating it. Everything else is wonderful, too - great home cooking (using the proprietor's grandmother's recipes). Ruby's also caters, and has a bakery (I haven't tried their baked offerings, afraid I'd be unable to resist eating way too many of them!).
