Manager came to the table & stood over us, as I explained our situation. This conversation took quite some time, & I was appalled that the manager was so insensitive as to not realize how uncomfortable our guests were. His voice was loud & his manner condescending. He finally acquiesced & said that ""for one time only"" (meaning tonight, I suppose) he would ask the server to provide our table with two checks. As semi-regular customers, & in the past, we have never had difficulty in receiving separate checks, by the way.
