As you know, our goal is for our son to live independently someday. Most of the time the public schools look to segregate people with disabilities into life skills classes and out of the general education classes. This is not acceptable to us and would keep him from developing the kinds of relationships that will allow him to live independently with the help of peers. You should know that you have helped put us on a path to this goal. Because you were able to help him be successful in a typical class, we can show the public schools that regular classrooms can work for our son. When we did his education evaluation, his socialization tested in the normal range, which I attribute directly to his full inclusion in typical situations such as MRS. You reached out and took a chance on us. He is better for it and I think all he has touched at the school are better for it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
