Hearty Italian 4/4/2012

Food has always been good here, and the service friendly. The place could use a little bit of updating, though. more

Great hole-in the wall Italian! 8/25/2011

Wouldn't say this is outstanding Italian by any means... wouldn't say it's authentic... but on a night that ya just don't care how you look, if you are tired and wearing jean shorts and a shirt that says I'm with Stupid, or I'm a proud leprechan or whatever you want to wear this place is all casual and comfy! The service is friendly, seat quickly, serving sizes are generous, Italian dishes are hearty, and they LOVE THEIR RED SAUCE! And their cheese!!!!!!! So if you like LOTS of CHEESE, RED MARINARA, AND SAUCE period, and BREAD, AND you are HUNGRY... THIS IS YOUR PLACE!!.... or at least my kind of place most of the time! ....\r note: don't go if you are a restaurant snob, have to have superior wines or good list of alcohol (very small selection), or like upscale and a quiet atmosphere. this is for the casual and laid-back only! Very comfy, budget friendly and family friendy!!! more

not bad. 3/15/2010

I love the food here, but that can't make up for what I experienced. This place used to be my favorite place to go and eat out, until one day I went there for lunch and discovered a living cockroach in the salt shaker! The waiter apologized and said that he had no idea how it got there, but I think I do. Because of that, my appetite for italian food isn't as strong as it used to be. ): Pros: Really good food! Cons: lacks cleanliness. more

Not What It Used To Be 8/9/2009

Two Guys from Italy had always been a favorite. I first introduced my boyfriend a few months ago and we enjoyed the pizza made to order and the fresh sliced sausage. The service felt severely awkward, but the food could compensate. However, today was a very unappealing experience. Besides the lately, typical awkward service, our sausage and pepperoni pizza came with crumbled sausage, exactly like what one might find on a ""crispy crust"" pizza ( a $1 frozen pizza readily available in the frozen pizza section of a supermarket). As frugal as I am, I truly had a second thought about bringing the left-overs home. We had to scrape the odd sausage off as much as possible before eating. Two Guys had always been a family favorite, but has clearly been lacking recently in service and especially in the once enjoyable quality of pizza. Two Guys from Italy needs to get back with the program and make a good ol' pizza like they used to Pros: charming decor Cons: service entirely lacking, food getting poorer more

Changes at this favored restaurant !! 7/3/2008

** Update on Two Guys From Italy ** For all of us out there who love this restaurant, things have changed!\r Looks like the menu has changed, and the 1/2 orders of pasta dishes are no longer offered, and serving portions are defintely smaller. The economic times are showing here! Went there last night, and was surprised to see this change on the menu. Same wonderful Old Italy and fun atmosphere and great service, but serving plates were smaller to probably make smaller food servings still look good. I l had plenty to enjoy and even take some Lasagna home (was still very good). Still recommend this neighborhood favorite, just don't be surprised by the obvious changes !!! Pros: Still love the atmosphere and great service. Food also still enjoyable. Cons: Smaller portions, no 1/2 pasta orders any longer more

You get seated right away 99% of the time, now that's great customer service. 3/15/2008

I have not written on a message board ever, until now. A friend from college brought me to eat here and I have been a fan ever since. I don't know where that friend is now but I am grateful for her introducing me to one of Dallas's best kept secrets. The staff is really nice and the design is jeans/ shorts friendly, dimmed lights, hanging wine bottles and grapes and lots of booths. For the price, you get a LOT of GOOD food. I have tried to bring as many friends as I can out because, as you can see, they don't do a lot of advertising. I love the bread, calamari, ravioli, tortellini, lasagna and alfredo sauce. I also like that this isn't a chain so if you go regularly, they remember you. I think their food is better than Olive Garden and on par with Macaroni Grill but a better price! My husband used the restaurant in a scavenger hunt for the day of his proposal. Check this place out, I bet you'll like it too. Pros: The parking lot is close by and you don't have to valet. The ""alcoholic drink"" prices are very reasonable. Cons: They don't have the super fancy italian fusion dishes, just traditional Italian food. The desserts are so-so. more

Forever Favorite 1/7/2008

My family has been dining at Two Guys for over 30 years. My mom ate there the night she went into labor with me!!! We frequented this restaurant almost weekly when I was growing up. My husband also dined there often with his family. The food & service has been consistantly good as long as I can remember running up & down the restaurant as if I owned it!! It has expanded by leaps & bounds. It used to be so tiny. Now that I think about it, I may have to go this weekend!!! more

Great date spot 6/22/2006

My date, who later became my husband, brought me to Two Guys for our first date 12 years ago. Needless to say, the service, the ""tastes the way you last remembered it"" food, and the affordable prices have made this a family favorite. The atmosphere is quiet and dark, the staff always friendly and I have always left with a full stomach and a full box of leftovers! Pros: Large menu selection, good appetizers Cons: Parking can sometimes be a problem, language difficulties with waitstaff more

Not fancy, just good! 6/14/2006

I first ate at Two Guys in 1983, because they had a coupon in one of those buy-one-get-one-free books. My friend and I left stuffed and carrying enough leftover food for yet another meal! I no longer live in Dallas, but I've been back many times with family, friends and students. Many of them have become Two Guys regulars whenever THEY are in town! I no longer choose my restaurants based on how MUCH food you get, but the meals here are so good that Two Guys is still a favorite. The food is basic tomato-sauce-heavy Italian, with a wide selection on the menu. The food gets to the table fast and hot! The pizza is top-notch, and the chicken parmigiana melts in your mouth. The prices are so low you'll be tempted to over-order, assuming the portions are small...but you'll be wrong. The service is friendly and genuinely concerned with making you happy, although a few times there have been some ""language difficulties."" I assume this is a family-run place, because I've seen the same people working there for years. more

I LOVE this place! 5/2/2006

They are the nicest people, they have the greatest atmosphere -- you walk in, there's grapes and wine bottles hanging from the ceiling; all around you Venice is painted on the walls. The food is PHENOMENAL, and no one knows this place exists!! I'm eating there again today -- I have to have them AT LEAST every month -- and I'm having Fettuccini Alfredo. Mmmm! Creamy sauce. You should REALLY try it they are great! Pros: Yummy Food, Nice Service, Nice Atmosphere more

Awesome!! 5/28/2005

Do not let the inexpensive menu and low key location fool you. This is a hidden Dallas gem. They serve large portions of the best Italian food you can get in Dallas. At any price, and even if money were no object, I would choose Two Guys any day as my favorite Italian Restaurant! Pros: Great Food, Large Portions, Good Prices Cons: Cheesy Atmosphere more
