When I was recently on a business trip to Dallas, I extended my stay to go to this museum and I am sure glad that I did. The cost was $10 per person and I think it was a great deal.
The museum is located in the 6th floor of the “Book Depository” building in downtown Dallas. This is the building where they believe that the fatal shots originated. The building is no longer used as a book depository, but the area around the window where the shots were fired and the area where the police later discovered the rifle have been restored to how they looked at the time.
The museum had a huge collection of photographs and artifacts from the Kennedy family as well as many from the hours before and after the shooting.
The museum is laid out in chronological order – starting with the Kennedy family, then how JFK became president, then through his presidency, then many details on the assassination and its aftermath. They do highlight the conspiracy theories, the Warren Commission, and other investigations that have taken place.
They present the stories with a combination of text, photos, artifacts, and videos. As someone who was not yet born at the time of his assassination, it was very interesting for me to see the affect of this event on the United States and even the world. It was also very interesting to see how different things were back then.
We went to the museum on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed! I would highly recommend trying to fit this in on a weekday if you do plan to go. Check out their hours though as they are not open in the evenings and you want to give yourself enough time to get through the large exhibit.
There is a store at the end of the museum – I found a great book there that has a lot of the same information as the exhibit – but it is not nearly as dramatic as seeing it in person.
There is also a lot of great information about the museum and their exhibit at their website jfk.org http://www.jfk.org/
If you are ever in the Dallas area – I highly recommend you check out this museum!

If you haven't been here, I strongly recommend that you visit it. I love going to this museum because the sculptures are amazing. They have all different works of art...some in color and others in black and white. They have a lot of abstract art and also just regular sculptures. They also have a bottom floor and their "backyard" is full of huge works of art. Great place to spend a day and enjoy art.

More
The Sixth Floor Museum is a unique and interesting compilation of data on JFK, his life and his death. However, I found it to be very intense, not in a bad way but young children could not comprehend what this means to our nation, past or present. They may become bored or even overwhelmed with all there is to see here. And that would take away from this unique experience for adults. If you go, you have to go all the way through to get to the journal books at the end where you can write your reflections on what you've seen and heard.
Pros: important history, not one sided views, unique
Cons: , gift shop

I was very pleased that a small company has such a big reputation. The work and the service was great. I just moved to the dallas area and one of the first places I went to is art addiktion. FYI art addiktion is in Denton!! Judy's Book needs to change there address. I strongly support the work that they are doing.

The Biblical Arts center is a very interesting place to go. They have a wide variety of items and an amazing painting that is on display in a theatre type setting. There is a soundtrack that goes with it like a little show that is very neat. They have a gift shop and plenty of parking. It's located near North Park Mall in Dallas. I also think that they rent the place out for wedding receptions and parties. Admission is less than $10.

Seriously, while you won't learn a whole lot just by walking through the museum, there are many interesting displays that will interest kids and adults of all ages. The cool thing is, if you have questions, there are people around who can answer them well. I find this to be a good way to spend half a day with friends or the family.

The museum has a lot of interesting artifacts, relating not only to the JFK assassination, but also the assassinations of MLK, RFK, and Lincoln. There's also an interesting documentary to watch. At ten dollars, however, this museum...which is basically one room, is fairly pricey. The man who runs the museum is really interesting to talk to, and has a lot of interesting theories.
