Looking for a quick manicure? This place is fine. But if it is a relaxing massage or facial with privacy and the after-spa glow, you won't find it here. The receptionists are rude...

******STAY AWAY***** 7/29/2011

My wife picked this place for our children's birthday party in August of 2011. She had several conversations with the owner (Martha), who verbally agreed to give us a better deal (include more admission with their birthday package). After we have our invitations printed and ready to be mailed, we get the contract emailed to us and there is no sign of the incentives that Martha had offered. My wife contacts them and they basically had pulled a bate and switch. My wife was furious about the way she was treated by these people, like a second class citizen not to mention all the money and time she had spent planning our event there. We were about to spend a couple of thousand dollars for a 2 hour birthday party and I could have cared less about their pathetic $100-200 worth of discounts that they had promised, but we just didn't want to deal with these people who are clearly unprofessional and dishonest. We were able to find an alternative place in century city called ""giggles n hugs"". Much nicer and bigger place but more importantly, you deal with professional people and not a bunch of crooks more

no good at all !!!!!!!!!!! 5/23/2010

BORING !!!!!!!! DIRTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EXPENSIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We left 25 minutes later, my 2 year old sun and my 5 year old daughter were totally bored !!! Please don't go !!! Pros: location Cons: nothing to do more

SO Expensive & Dirty 11/14/2009

Went there with my 3 yr. old son & friend & as soon as we walked in, this girl behind the counter gives me a waiver to sign so that I know I am responsible for my own child. Well, geez tell me something i don't know. Then it was $9 for him to get in, even if we ate, which was fine I thought at first. There was a huge treehouse looking structure that looked cool, but I guess was BORING b/c my son went down the slide a few times & was over it. So, he wanted to do some arts & crafts & the same girl, who I had to literally hunt down b/c she was nowhere to be found, said ok it will be $7 for that project. WHAT??? I just paid you $9 so my child can be entertained. That was ridiculous! I said forget it & we ordered food with this same girl. $7.50 for my son's 2 tiny pieces of chicken, a tiny piece of watermelon, 4 grapes & 10 fries. That was his TWO side orders. My son ate everything in 2 minutes. I got a salad that was TINY for $12. It had ONE piece of goat cheese in it & maybe 4 pieces of beets. THAT's it! My friend, who has no kids, was SHOCKED. Then after we ate our food (even though we were STARVING after) we went to this tiny room with a bunch of DIRTY, OLD, broken toys. I don't think they had cleaned those toys EVER. Also, the treehouse had this fake grass underneath everywhere that was SO dirty & I couldn't believe they had it. That thing must hold SO much dirt, germs and bacteria. There's NO way to clean it. It really freaked me out. We left after 45 min. & went to the market to buy FOOD b/c we were all starving! Oh & NO parking anywhere! You have to look for it yourself & there's nothing around it, we looked for such a long time. Oh, yeah, my bill was $27 with tax & tip, PLUS $9 admission, so a grand total of $36 for NOTHING! It's really a shame b/c it would've been nice to be able to relax w/my friend while he played, but $40 later...RIDICULOUS. Of course, I want to entertain my child so I asked him if he'd like to go back there again when we left, & he said NO WAY!! I agree! It was also SO depressing in there. No other customers & dark...just a really bad experience. I will write this on gocitykids too b/c I always go there for ideas for activities. I'd hate some other poor parent to waste SO much money & time. Cons: no parking, toys are dirty & expensive more

SO NOT worth it. 10/21/2009

We are sort of new in town & I had looked up a few different places like this to go. It sounded really nice. I thought I could have a playdate & have something to eat while my son played, but there was NOTHING there! There was one slide he kept going on & he was bored after 10 minutes. Also, I couldn't believe how EXPENSIVE everything was. I ate a salad, coffee, $ 9 entrance fee & ended up paying over $30! And my salad sucked. The dressing was SO bland, i could've made it much better myself. The lettuce was old & there was 2 pieces of chicken. I've been to a couple of places where $9 gets you SO much fun for hours! This place was SO boring, DIRTY & overpriced...no wonder there was nobody there but us! All the toys were filthy & i asked someone how often they cleaned the toys & she was SO offended. I'm taking the time to write this so you won't waste your time. What a waste of money & time! Cons: Dirty toys & play place, parking sucks. more

Great place for kids and moms to eat and just hang out. 6/22/2008

My son and I can't wait to go back for another fun and relaxing experience. The food was yummy, the space was much more inviting than any other play space I've been too and the staff was very sweet. My son made 3 new friends instantly and I enjoyed hanging and being able to relax with my friend. I thought my salad was delicious with fresh beets and sweet pecans. His lunch was perfect for him and I liked that it included two sides. We stayed for 3 hours and became members for the summer (a steal). I suggest it to anyone with children between 0 and 6. Oh, and the best part is I could get a polish change while I was there. One less thing to check off my list of things to do. Pros: Good food, friendly staff, happy environment Cons: Street Parking only more

Worst place for working families 5/31/2008

Why would you open up something like this and close at noon on Saturday? Why wouldn't you want to engage working families and their children? It seems like a market you'd want to tap into, but no - not the brain trust at The Tree House Social Club! This will definitely be on my ""don't ever go there"" list! Pros: None that I could see because at 1 pm on Saturday - THEY WERE CLOSED! Cons: THEY WERE CLOSED AT 1 PM ON SATURDAY! more

Fun place for toddlers 3/9/2008

While I wouldn't say the food here is ""outstanding"", we didn't come here for the food. Our two-year old had a LOT of fun running up the indoor treehouse and zipping down the slide into a big cushion. We really were able to relax and let her play and meet new friends. The kids here too were all incredibly sweet, courteous, and friendly. We suggested to the staff that they might put a mirror or a camera in the corner behind the treehouse, so parents could monitor what's going on back there while sipping their tea. The suggestion was shrugged off. So we can't be lazy and watch our kids from our seats as much as we would have liked. Seeing the big screen TV on a wall, and reading the sign, they apparently offer Monday Night Football for Dads. As a Dad, I find that a bit silly. Why not install a camera instead, that allows us to monitor that corner behind the treehouse? If I'm taking my kid out to play, I'm not going to sit and watch a football game. But to each his own. Over-all it was a very positive experience, and we look forward to going back soon. One of the nicer places to take your kid, and worth the drive. Pros: Friendly, clean place, mostly well thought out Cons: Blind spot behind tree house could use a mirror or better yet, a closed-circuit camera on the stairs more

Best place to Relax while your Kids Learn and Have Fun! 2/16/2008

I have always dreamed of a place like this!!!! There is nothing I would change. I drive over 10 miles in traffic to be at Treehouse at least 2 times per week. The food is outstanding!!! My kids range from 7 years to 1.5 years and there is something for all 4 of them. The older kids like the WII (Nintendo game system) and the art room. The younger kids have a safe, cozy, CLEAN area to play in. I have met the nicest people there, and they have really fun events- like pajama parties, workshops and wednesday night family dinners. You don't feel like you are at a ""kids' place"", it is a garden-like oasis where your kids actually have fun and allow you to have some grown up time:) Pros: The Concept, The Ambience, The People, The Store, The Birthday Parties Cons: Only open for dinner on Wednesdays more

WASTE OF MONEY 6/30/2006

Although the web page for Garden Sanctuary is still up, the place no longer exists and is called ""Nana's Garden."" I went in with a gift certificate thinking that I would receive a hydrotherapy session (described on the old web page as Hydrotherapy\r 45 Minutes - $ 55.00\r This is the ultimate refreshing, relaxing and rejuvenating experience that will enhance circulation and sooth aching muscles. Luxuriate in a jet tub filled with our exclusive customized blend of minerales. This 15 minute deep tissue hydro-bath is followed by a 30 minute Body Satin massage.)\r I went in to find out that hydrotherapy with Nana's Garden now means paying $55 to sit in a bathtub for 45 minutes. LAME. There is NO privacy, it is very loud, and the staff is RUDE. Furthermore, they refuse to take responsibility for this misunderstanding. DO NOT waste your money on this pathetic place. Cons: rude staff, too expensive, horrible atmosphere more

Save your money and go somewhere better! 11/22/2005

I DO NOT recommend this place at all. The people there are so rude and act like they are too good for you. I had a package that I received as a present and instead of having a nice, friendly experience, it was rather quite hellish. They did the bare minimum and didn't even ask me for a drink each of the three times I was there. The people made me feel as if I didn't belong there and tried to finish the treatments as quickly as they could instead of making it a good experience for me...the makeup consult i was supposed to get was given to me only upon my asking for it and e ven then the lady made me look hideous; I wiped my face off as soon as I left the place...I will definitely never return to this place. Cons: very rude staff, expensive, bad parkin more

Uggggghhhhhh.... 11/10/2003

Looking for a quick manicure? This place is fine. But if it is a relaxing massage or facial with privacy and the after-spa glow, you won't find it here. The receptionists are rude, the open architecture leaves you running for cover in your robe and lack of slippers and the masseuse I had was downright bad at what he did. I felt robbed and exposed. Never again. Pros: Cafe food, Gift selection Cons: Parking, Rude staff, No privacy more

Lovely 7/2/2002

I had a microdermabrasion facial here & was very pleased with everything. It is such a cute enviornment & my facialist was excellent. Although I missed having a spa to soak in, it is worth it to get the services! Pros: great facialist more

Nice place - Terrible Service 6/2/2002

I went for a pedicure and a wax. I left with painted toes, smooth legs, and a sour taste in my mouth. The receptionist never even paused from her personal telephone conversation to check me in or out. The staff didn't bother introducing themselves to me. I was never offered a magazine or a glass of water as I sat staring wishfully at the full pitcher nearby. The 45 minute pedicure was spent fixing a poor polish job, which left no time for the leg and foot massage, which consisted of a quick rub-down with rubber gloves. I've had better service in the cheapy joints, which is where I'll go next time. Pros: nice facilities, calm music Cons: indifferent staff, zero pampering more
