Good School -Daycare 11/7/2011

My 3 year old has been going to this school for about 3 months. We moved from Europe in the Middle of the Summer and it was difficult to find openings in the top schools in Houston. more

Best kept secret in town 1/18/2011

My baby boy has been at this school since he was old enough to enroll, and I am so lucky to have him there! The school is a clean, cheerful environment with a small classroom size (that was a big selling point to me). The infant classrooms enrollment tops out at six babies - with a ratio of no more than 2 little ones per caretaker. more

The Montessori Way 9/21/2008

It is the Montessori way to not correct a child for putting her shoes on the wrong feet, but to take the opportunity to show them the correct way the next time the child goes to put on her shoes. It's a learning process that helps encourage the child's own rate of growth and development, and helps to keep the child from feeling discouraged by telling her she's doing in wrong. Just FYI. The teacher who didn't correct the child was doing it right. Also, Southampton Montessori is not the best school. NONE of the toddler teachers are certified. The pre-school is fine, but the elementary is completely disorganized, and the heads of administration are not very approachable. more

My three children have been at The Village Montessori School now for three years, I do feel very comfortable leaving my children . They could not be in a more nurturing loving environment. My three children have learned so much I am very happy . I think some parents may not undderstand the philosophy of montessori. This School has been a wonderful learning experience for all of us. THIS IS NOT AN ACCREDITED MONTESSORI 4/18/2007

They say they are accredited, but they are not! There is absolutely no accountability. Teachers say they are montessori teachers-but credentials are questionable! ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS. One teacher left a child's shoes reversed ON PURPOSE. Teacher in 3-6 room does not teach. She is barely in the room. Assistants do all the work. They put on a good front,-A lot of show and no real educating going on. Go to South Hampton just a few blocks away for less tuition! AVOID THIS ONE AT ALL COSTS. I am not a disgruntled employee, just a mom who had some inside information from a reliable source! Pros: facility/resources Cons: teachers aren't real teachers, not accredited. Liars, and jealous staff who gossip more

The best care around 5/1/2006

I would not work if I could not find a great school. I don't call this daycare, my 18 month old is learning and growing so fast. They had her eating with a spoon by 12 months old. She is super happy! Pros: very low ratio, great meals more
