Texas Performance Distributors

I showed up at Texas Performance this morning to buy a bunch of stuff for my wife's car. Go in and one guy is helping the one other customer in the place. No one acknowledges I am even there. I wait 15min. with my 5yr old daughter. I see that there is a guy behind the one way glass on the right side of the door. He looks up every now and then but doesn't come out to help. Neither does anyone else. My daughter says she has to use the restroom. I ask the guy if she can go. He says they don't have a public restroom. I say she's 5 can you make an exception. He says let me ask the owner. He goes to the guy behind the glass and asks him. I see him shake his head immediately without an explanation. Guy tells me he said no. I am floored by this. Really, you can't make an exception for a child? I wasn't asking for myself. Getting to a gas station took a few minutes and she barely made it. Had someone helped when I got there I would have probably been gone by the time she had to go. I will NEVER go back. I will treat them like I do WalMart. I switched to Target about 7yrs ago. It might be a little more expensive on a few items but I stand my ground on the basis of principle. I guess they can take my money but have no sympathy for the basic needs of a small kid. What kind of trouble would it have been for them to just let her use the restroom? If it's that much trouble, I know a few parts that I wanted to get would have wasted more time than the time it took my kid to use the restroom. NEVER AGAIN TEXAS PERFORMANCE!!!!!!!! more

I've been going there since 1998, they've been there longer. They're a warehouse distributor and the place looks it. But they have a retail counter and good guys helping you out. Regular guys who build cars, not franchise-trained drones. I price the stuff on the web and then call around and I usually end up there. Other local perf. shops have had to order what I've bought there in-stock and cheaper. On a recent Saturday, I needed a throttle cable and Daniel was over-the-top knowledgeable in helping me figure out how to mount it. If you know what you want and can handle talking to real car guys with attitude, this is the go-to place. more

I have been dealing with Tx Perf for many years,and have always had good service. They ordered parts so I could make a race, and had them there in time. Prices same as JEG's catalouge without the shipping ($11.00) or the wait. You will pay tax but it is worth it. Special orders are no problem. The business could use more signage,but is easy and convienant. more

Manager is an idiot, won't order parts you need. Never have parts available. HIgh prices compared to competition. Very unprofessional counter staff - cursing, making rude remarks about customers in front of other customers. Manager does it too. Hard to find business in residential area with no signs. No refunds on returned parts just store credit. I give one star because there is no option for zero. Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Everything more
