Chicken Lo Mein and Crispy Noodles were VERY good. But do not order the Crab Ragoon, it was all the wrapper and no crab and cream cheese!!

It's a 9-1-1 on the food! 9/3/2010

Lunchtime with co-workers. The ambiance is pleasant, good for conversation. Service was excellent. Prices reasonable, portions ample. The problem: the food wasn't very good. One person's food was fried and overcooked. My steamed vegetable dumplings were all filled with bland, tinny tasting cabbage. I thought vegetables meant a variety, not bland on bland. more

Simply the BEST steamed dumplings in Houston! 1/4/2008

I've tried 'em all...Aunti Chang's, Doozo in the Park, but hands down, Ta Hua is amazingly the best. I've been going there for 15 years, since they had a location across from the Galleria. Now, since the only location left is in Memorial, I drive across town just for the dumplings. Service is swift; in fact, they know me and put my order in when I walk in the door: cup of hot & sour soup (delicious), steamed vegetable dumplings, water w/lemon. And the condiments for the dumplings are great too, the crushed ginger and jalepenos (2 separate condiments). I LOVE Ta Hua and wish they had more locations! Pros: Steamed dumplings, service Cons: None! more

Best steamed dumplings in Houston 9/3/2007

Our family has been going here for dumplings since the early 80's. They have the best condiments for them as well, a minced ginger and a minced jalepeno. We'll drive across the city just for them. We rarely order anything else any more, just fill up on dumplings and then we take more ""to go"". Pros: Incredible dumplings more

Authentic and delicious! 6/21/2007

We've been going to this place for three years now and they've been improving year after year. This place has an extensive menu that consists of authentic Chinese and Vietnemese food (my wife is Chinese so we don't have to drive to Bellaire/China town if she has her cravings) along with Americanized Chinese, something for everybody. The food is delicious, good portion, great value, fast and friendly servcie. Try something different, I'd recommend the filet mignon steak cube, lemon grass flavored beef (fajita), pan-friend noodles, vietnemese eggrolls instead of chinese eggrolls, and soft shell crab. Pros: Delicious food and great service more

Really, really, really average 8/22/2006

I arrived at the tail end of lunch and tried to order off the dinner menu. After about ten minutes the waiter told me they were 'out' of something I ordered, and would I order off the lunch menu? I ordered the charbroiled beef. Flavorful, reasonable portion of grilled, marinated beef on a *huge* mound of filling rice. Soup and eggroll (I hate that automatic, clichéd combination) were OK, but no condiments around to liven it up, or a waiter to bring it over. Advertises Chinese and Vietnamese food, but mostly pedestrian Chinese. Good in a pinch, but there are better around the area. Disappointing experience. Pros: Inexpensive, bulk food, clean bathrooms Cons: Dingy interior needing serious maintenance, boring food on lunch menu more

Steamed veg dumplings! 8/15/2005

Its a nice quiet atmosphere and great food! I've been going there for 10 years and have yet to have bad service! the steamed dumplings are the best! and they are avalible for large groups. Pros: Price, Quiet atmosphere, Good food more

Worst Service EVER. 6/1/2002

Seated tables get paper napkins, cloth napkins are only for unoccupied tables. The waiter didn't refill our drinks until we pointed it out to him. He told us it was not his problem. The dish my husband ordered was not available, which was also, not the waiter's problem. He was very antagonosic when confronted about the quality of service. We will not be returning. Pros: reasonably priced, decent food Cons: Horrible service more
