Editorial review from Citysearch 4/28/2013

This close to hitting Urgent Care after last night's visit- throwing up and crapping blood all day- i am in hell... Wasn't worth seeing a bellydancer w dollars in her outfit looking more like a common stripper than an artistic dancer. more

Not recommended 10/21/2011

I had a Groupon, ordered to go. Prices I had to pay was $9 higher than expected as on the Online Menu. Food was very little... 50% less than other Greek places. I mentioned that the Online Menu's prices were lower, what happens here? The guy laughed at me. Definitely not recommended. more

Not as I expected vs other Greek places 9/9/2010

Had lunch to go from there today... Menu on the internet prices are cheaper than when you get there and get a higher price... I ordered Double Gyro with salad it was no a double Gyro, I will put money on that. Although it was good, I think I will stick to my regular Greek joints... You get a lunch for 11.95 expect it to be Huge and was very small... Price on internet was 9.95... Crazy... The waitress were wearing very revealing clothing... Thought I walked in to a nudie bar.. more

WARNING 1/25/2010

I looked so forward to going to Stratos. Especially, since it is advertised in Dallas Voice. The stripper/belly dancer was excellent, if you like that sort of thing. She roams from table to table begging for tips so you can gawk at her close up. The wost was the POUNDING music. I have been in discos that were quieter than this place. If you want a nice dinner with friends that you can actually talk to, avoid or get it to go. ....I am just sayin'........... Pros: Not sure Cons: Atmosphere more

Stratos Has Best Tilapia I Ever Tasted!!! 12/9/2008

Ok... I Love Greek Food & I thought I'd had the best - until I went to Stratos!\r \r This place is absolutely delicious! I went here for lunch on a weekday afternoon expecting to get a Gyro Sandwhich & Hummus. (my usual favorite & it was really good) But my husband order the lunch special ""Grilled Tilapia"" , the rest is history. Dont take my word for it, try it out! It literally melts in your mouth. It comes with seasoned rice & veggies & for $2.50 you can even have a Mojito! (All Day Every Day-scary huh?) I can honestly say this place has the best Greek Food EVER!!! (and NO-I am not a owner or employee-lol!) \r \r Check out their website for the daily specials... I'll see you there! more

I got sick there 10/17/2008

My friend and I went to Stratos expecting the ""best gyros in Dallas"" well I got best case of the trots in Dallas. \r I had some mystery meat dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) which made my stomach churn and caused me to be sick the whole day.\r Try this place at your own risk. Also, I have to say that their portion sizes are disappointing and the atmosphere is lacking. more

Some of the Best fries in Dallas and Amazing Gyros. Not to mention great, family friendly atmosphere! 8/22/2008

Incredible Greek food, Love the Patio! Great atmosphere, Nice Service 5/19/2008

As far as good Greek food in Dallas, Stratos holds the torch. It's just too bad they're not closer! In fact, they're kinda out-of-the-way for most people, I've found, but well worth the drive. They're located on Northwest Highway, near Bachman Lake. I've been dining there for years, I was first introduced to the place when I worked in Irving. It's my favorite place for Greek food & happy hour. They have $3 drinks from open-close everyday except Friday & Saturday, when it ends @ 8pm. They also have free wi-fi so it's common to see laptops & business meetings there.\r The owner Nick is very hands-on, he's usually there when I visit, otherwise at least one of his family members is. They obviously have a lot of pride in the restaurant, they're always welcoming & recognize their regulars. Most of the servers have been with them a while, too. They've been around since 2001 & being able to make it in that neighborhood, which is off the beaten path, they're obviously doing good business for a reason! My favorite feature at Stratos is the video shots of Greece that play throughout the restaurant on large projector screens. It's so beautiful to see & makes most who watch it yearn to travel to Greece. \r I always enjoy dining at Stratos, it's a great place to go casually or for a formal meal. I can't say that about most places, at Stratos the atmosphere is condusive to both: granite-top lounge tables for large parties, booths for smaller ones, & an incredible covered patio w/ TVs. The food is incredible, you can tell it's made there and not pre-packaged and frozen, which is what I've found at most Greek places. Howard Stern says they have the ""Best Gyro in Dallas"" & everyone I've taken there for one agrees. The tzatziki sauce is to die for! Nick says they make everything from scratch each morning. They offer generous portions, and specials regularly to keep the patrons coming back.\r \r I just wanted to put in a good word for the place, it's one of my favorite spots in Dallas. Pros: THE FOOD, Patio, Service, Free Wi-Fi, Great Happy Hour Cons: Out of the way more

Outstanding Food, Unique Atmosphere, try the SAGINAKI! 1/4/2008

After hearing about Stratos from several co-workers, I decided to give the place a try with a date and another couple. \r \r We were there last Saturday night, and we had a BLAST! We arrived around 7 and took advantage of their $3 you-call-it happy hour. $3 CROWN ROYAL and JAGERMEISTER! We were FLOORED! We sat in the corner booth to the right, our server Stratos (he must be the owner?) was extremely welcoming and gave us great reccomendations. Everything we tried was excellent, especially the flaming saginaki-- I love cheese. The seating/dinner area was centered around the dance floor which featured the best belly dancers I have ever seen. My date and our friends were thoroughly impressed as well. We finished our visit shortly after the belly dance show, right as the Salsa instruction was beginning. (Apparently they have Salsa dancing Friday and Saturday nights--which we found interesting). \r \r I must say, the layout and the atmosphere were not what you would expect in a Greek restaurant. It's more of a lounge/sports bar and restaurant combined. I've heard that it's an ideal place to watch the games, if you live close that is. We live in Plano, so it's quite a hike for us. Stratos, our server, reccomended visiting during the half price dinner special on Monday and Tuesday nights. Some friends and I are planning on taking advantage of that soon!\r \r To sum it up, we had a great experience at Stratos Greek Restaurant. I will definitely be back. Pros: THE FOOD, $3 drinks at happy hour, Belly Dancers Cons: far away more

Excellent Food - Not So Good Atmosphere 11/4/2007

I am visting from our of town... having grown up 30 mins from Astoria (Queens), I have seen my fair share of greek eating establishments. The food at Stratos' is EXCELLENT, but the crowd and the layout does not make it for a couples location for a nice Greek meal. Maybe I visited the wrong evening (Cowboys v Eagles game), but the table next to me was loud and I was not sure who was serving me my meal.\r \r I may try a different place on my next visit to the metroplex area. If you have finished a softball game and are looking for a good meal at a decent price, this is your place. If you are looking to take your girlfriend or spouse out to a meal... stay tuned until my next visit. Pros: Greek Food, Price Cons: Ambience, Crowd more

Best Gyro! Great happy hour and patio, nice service. 4/30/2007

I really enjoy Stratos, especially at lunch. They feature two $5.95 lunch specials Monday thru Saturday and the service is always prompt and considerate. This is my favorite place for a get-together or happy hour as well, many of my friends say it's their favorite place. I heard the Salsa & Merengue dance lessons are great Friday and Saturday nights, too. I just wish it was closer to my neighborhood! Pros: Great Gyros, Greek food, Family Owned & Operated, Entertaining! Cons: Out of the way, closed on Sundays more

You'll Love it Baby 11/20/2006

Stratos is a great spot for a happy hour (with nightly drink specials) or for a romantic evening with belly dancing and DJ's. The food is authentic and yummy, the hummus is fresh and a great blend flavors served with warm pita bread. I always get the gyros, full of flavorful lamb and fresh pita. It's not rare to see the whole family there on any given night and Nick is always welcoming. We just happened to go on the belly dance class night and were treated to a great amateur show of local students, it was a treat. The lighting and mood go from happy hour and fun to romantic in the corner booths. Highly recommend. Pros: Great happy hour drink specials and appetizer specials more

best Greek food in Dallas, hands down. 2/12/2006

I appreciate the fact that this restaurant is entirely family-owned and operated. The gyros are great, however I go there for the authentic Greek food & service. LOVE THE MOUSSAKA & RACK OF LAMB. The saganaki is incredible as well. Ask for Stratos the Night Manager and Bartender. I highly reccomended Stratos to my friends and coworkers. A true diamond in the rough in Dallas. Pros: Awesome Greek food, Good service, Romantic Atmosphere Cons: out of the way more
