Best Hair Salon in Boston 5/18/2007

Starr Hair Studio delivers high quality, professional salon services with warmth and sincerity. Everyone, from the owner to the staff, is friendly, kind and willing to do whatever it takes to please the customer. All of this in a cheery, genuine, and fun environment. I have had my hair done at Starr's for many years (by Diane) and have never been disappointed. I really look forward to going there because it's like visiting with your friends and being pampered as well. I always recommend Starr to anyone who asks me for a salon reference. Great Hair for a Great Price 4/27/2007

The staff at Starr are always welcoming and the atmosphere is pleasant. \r Stephen L. is a great colorist and stylist! He's been doing my hair for quite awhile and I'm always satisfied. Best hair service and value on Newbury Street! 4/14/2007

Best value for hair services on Newbury Street! The cost of services can be almost half whatever the 'celebrity-name' places charge, and Starr does as good a job if not better. I've been going there for 6 years and the place just keeps getting better. My stylist, Diane, and the rest of the staff could not be more accomodating. \r \r From the beginning I was treated with care. These folks will run out for coffee, feed the meter, or surrender a parking space in a pinch. The atmosphere projects a cool vibe, not a pounding sound system. The space was tastefully renovated in 2007. The people who work here have been there a long time and the stylists lack the aloofness found in many Newbury salons. The clientele spans all ages and is about half men and half women. Try Starr, you'll be back! Pros: Top service, stylists who are nice people, value-priced, I look like a goddess every time! Cons: Parking on Newbury Street - the city needs to do more here! more

Great personalized service 4/11/2007

Starr hair salon has a great upstairs location on Newbury st. They are always accomodating and make you feel completely at home. The owners are so friendly and I love my stylist of over 20 years, Stephen Lombardi. I always leave with a perfect cut that is very easy to care for at home. .A friend brought me to this wonderful Newbury Street Salon two years ago-so I am a newbie! I confidently let my stylist do whatever he thinks is best and he is always RIGHT!!! Lilly has been cutting my hair for over 20 years. I'm not just a loyal fan; I've simply never had a better hair cut...ever. This is a high-end salon with a genuinely down-to-earth atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. It's always like a party with great conversation, something to sip on, something to read, and lovely people (stylists, shampooers, customers). Same story! I have been a loyal client of Susan Mancini of Starr Hair Studio for over 20 years and have followed them wherever they set up shop. Why? In addition to getting that Newbury Street style that everyone remarks about, customer service rates tops with them and always has. The staff is friendly and professional and really knows their stuff. I highly recommend that you go there and find out for yourself! You'll be glad you did. Most fun and welcoming hair salon 3/11/2007

I have been going to the Starr Hair Studio for many years (I followed my hair stylist there) and have been bringing my mom and good friend for years as well. We all love meeting up at the salon for great hair styles and a lot of laughs. The salon is vey friendly, lively, and welcoming. Everyone knows us by name. My hair stylist is fantastic-going on 15 years with him! The newly designed studio is warm and comfortable. I see so many of the same clients there year after year which in itself is a great review. I highly recommend the Starr Hair Salon to anyone!\r Pros: Thumbs way UP! Everything a day at the salon should be-fabulous. Cons: Accoustics aren't too good with the new design and the seats by the windows need back cushions more
