The Best Massage We've have ever had in my life!!!! 6/5/2011

My wife and I went to Spadyssey for massages on our 1 year anniversary!! Little did we know that 90 min later we would have experienced the best massages and the nicest therapists ever.. I went in with an achy head, neck, back, ankle and apparently misaligned legs, which my therapist very skillfully and gracefully fixed. I left feeling better than I have in a long time. My wife truly enjoyed her massage as well. The music was soothing, the atmosphere relaxing...Not only was the massage amazing, but we felt like we really connected with our therapists on a different level. After our massage, we got dressed and when we walked out, they had even made us a celebratory mimosa for our 1 yr anniversary!! Simply an amazing experience.. 2nd to none. We recommend it wholeheartedly to everyone!! more

don't go for the mani-pedi 5/18/2011

First for the atmosphere....pathetic! A little tiny shop that was so dark I had trouble filling out their masssage form. The bathroom was clean enough but had damaged ceiling tiles and the place over all was very run down and cheesy. No frills, no robes, no slippers, oh but they did offer watter out of little tiny bathroom sized paper cups. more

Very, very good 10/2/2010

I've had really, really good massages before and Spadyssey probably just made it to the top of the list. A friend went there last month and was raving about her massage. Then last week I moved in an awkward way and must have done something to my muscles because I ended up with slightly painful knot running up and down my back. After a day of discomfort, I decided to give Spadyssey a call. The receptionist was pretty knowledgeable and recommended the deep tissue massage. One the day of my appointment, I arrived about 15 minutes early. I walked into soothing music and pleasant aromas. I was welcomed by the receptionist and invited to have a seat. She gave me a form where I could indicate the areas I needed extra attention. I must have circled five areas. While I was waiting to go in, a couple was leaving and they had smiles on their faces and said they loved it and would be back. That only served to make me want my massage even more. My therapist greeted me and brought me into a massage room that had a beautiful Asian decor. I was asked about my trouble spots and ensured that they'd be addressed. After getting onto the table, the therapist came back in and began warming up the muscles on by back which felt heavenly (I don't why I don't get massages more frequently). The pressure gradually increased and my muscles began to feel like butter. I could literally feel my knots melting away. I would classify my therapist as I learned about knots that I didn't even know I had and how various knots caused other knots in other places. I was on the table for no more than 10 minutes before the pain in my back was completely gone. I couldn't believe it. The rest of the massage was icing on the cake! The scalp massage was just as good as my hair stylist. halfway through, I asked if I could extend my massage to a 90 minute, but was unable to do so. After the massage was over, I was urged to do some gradual deep breathing and to stretch. There was a bottle of Figi water waiting for me at the receptionist desk, which was a perfect punctuation to a perfect massage. I have already booked a massage for next month and this time I'm getting the 90 minute. The staff is great, the massage was great, and I would have given spadyssey 5 stars if it were a larger space (the massage rooms themselves are spacious, which I liked). Overall, it's a great little spa in a great little city. more

Don't waste your money here 9/28/2010

I went to this spa with 2 friends after viewing the website expecting a relaxing spa experience. I was concerned as soon as we walked in the door and saw the tiny area for the pedicures and manicures. We waited almost 30 minutes for the staff to get off the phone and begin our massages. Before my massage began I identified the key areas I wanted the therapist to focus on, apparently he didn't listen or forgot this. My friend was to receive a 60 minute massage, her therapist rushed thru a 30 minute massage then left with no explanation. The pedicures were done in a tiny area by the reception desk, the area was not calming or professional. They used cheap foot baths anyone can buy at Walmart, they filled these tubs with a bucket of water. Electrical cords were exposed and I nearly tripped climbing into the cheap chair on a pedestal that was used for the pedicure. There was no ""warmed multi-vitamin cream"" massage or ""strawberry soak"". No beverages were offered, in fact no mention of the importance of drinking water after the massage. more

Best Massage in Rhode Island 9/27/2010

Spadyssey gets 4 stars. I know a lot of people say this, but it really was the best massage that I've ever had. I had Alicia for my massage and she has the magic hands. Very thorough, detail oriented and yet at the same time very floaty and dreamy. Every minute that I spent on that massage table felt like a week that passed by. I also had a Europa facial with Meryl who is very good and she did well with the extractions which I really like. Melanie did a great job on my manicure during which the staff surprised me with a delicious red velvet cupcake from my hubby. Spadyssey has a friendly and well trained staff. Parking was close by and free, which is big for downtown Providence. They've been around for six years which says a lot to me. Our anniversary is coming up and I'm going to surprise my hubby with a couples massage in their couples room + plus a couple of those cupcakes. more

Love, love, loved it! 5/27/2010

I just had the most amazing massage and facial of my life. I really can't even describe the feeling that I have right now, I just hope that it never wears off. :) The massage was spot on and detailed. I learned about knots that I never knew I had. The girl that did my facial had amazing hands and did a great job with the extractions! Spadyssey isn?t a huge spa, but it?s a great one! Pros: Great services ~ phenominal massage and facial more

Great place for a great massage 1/18/2010

My hubby got me a gift certificate for Christmas. It was actually for a couples massage. We loved it. I was going to wait till Valentines day to use it, but my shoulders were really aching, so we went last week. It was the best massage that either of us had received. Ever. The place is cute... not a huge spa at all... and we loved the couples massage room. My husband said that his massage was incredible too... not just good. I felt like i was sooo relaxed and in space or somewhere. I don't think It will be long before our next visit. The staff seemed busy, but still friendly and attentive. ) Pros: tried spas in providence. spadyssey has the best massage! more

Decieving 12/29/2009

I'm must say I encountered a rather bitter experience at the local spa. Beautiful women, poor service sums up how I feel. I left feeling discontent, and wanting to ask for my money back. Bathroom cleanliness was also poor. I would recommend some of the other spas located in the city, honestly. Pros: Great Location, Heart of the City Cons: Lack Luster Performance more

Epic Experience 11/30/2009

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Providence to visit our daughter who is in school at Brown. She surprised us with a wonderful package to Spadyssey and without exaggeration, we had two of the best massages and facials ever. Prior to Spadyssey, the best massage that I had ever received was at Parrot Cay. Spadyssey was better than that. I'm sitting here wondering what words I can use to describe experience without sounding effusive. We were in Providence for just under a week and I had two massages at Spadyssey during that time. I really wanted to make sure that it was really that good and both massages were out of this world. I get massages fairly regularly and now I'm wishing that we lived closer to Providence! My husband and I are going to return the favor to our daughter by surprising her with a gift certificate to Spadyssey for the holidays. If you are looking for the very best in massage, your search is over. Pros: World Class Massage more

soooooo good! 10/17/2009

Ok, I just had to write this. My services were soooooo good! I left feeling like I was in heaven. I asked for the 90 minute massage, Europa facial and eyebrow threading and was in the same room for all of my services. I came in because of the great special they have for a massage and I'm very glad I did. The massage was the most fantastic one that I've had in a long time. I've been to some of the spa's with bigger names and their massages didn't come close to spadyssey. The facial was wonderful. My face looks years younger and I feel great!! I didn't know that there was a place to get eyebrow threading in providence. I am super excited about that! Thank you for a relaxing experience. I felt as if I was on vacation. I really, really needed a break from the world of go, go go!. The music played softly and it felt like I was falling and falling into the deepest sleep. It was over too soon. I will be returning for another visit next month with friends and I will probably pick a gift certificate for the holidays. Pros: best massage, great threading and facials more

Great Little Spot 10/7/2009

I loooooved my massage and facial! It was a birthday surprise and I was totally caught off guard. My boyfriend and best friend teamed up to get me a gift certificate to Spadyssey. The spa is on the smaller end, but my services were delightful. Spadyssey is easy to locate on Dorrance st, parking is free on the weekends. I run everyday, and hadn?t had a good massage in months. I got the one hour swedish massage and it was just what my body ordered, needed and craved. My therapist hit every spot that I highlighted on the body chart and even found a bunch that I didn?t even know existed. The pressure was great, not too much and not too little. I swear I was drooling at different times. This was by far the very best massage that I have ever received. The attention to detail on the back, neck, scalp, hands, legs was meticulous. I was in heaven! It lasted for an hour but it felt like a day. So, if you are looking for the best massage in Rhode Island? here you go! The facial was sorely needed as I hadn?t had one this year, and I never go this long without one. I had the one hour Europa facial and I was glad to see that they use the Pevonia product line. The Aesthetician was very skilled and was able to answer the myriad of questions that I posed. I emerged feeling cleansed, relaxed and completely rejuvenated. If you are not looking for a large spa, then I highly recommend Spadyssey. I?ve been back once since my first visit. I consider Spadyssey my spa now and thought I should share my experience. Pros: Best massage, great facials more

Ditzy staff, middling customer service 9/7/2009

Dropped in for a facial. There are several for $85 (60 min), and a cheaper 30-min one. My face isn't a warzone, so I wanted the simple facial. You can probably imagine what I ended up getting charged for... Having told the receptionist that, she set it up. While I was waiting, I checked my voicemail. Walked out of the facial, checked the time, and the receptionist said it'd be $85. Interesting, because the time on my phone was only 40 minutes after my voicemail call. I told her I'd meant that I wanted the 30-min. one, and that was only 40 min. so why was I being charged for a 60-min. She said, ""No, you were in there at least 50 min."" (Impossible, unless the entire AT&T mobile network entered a time warp during my facial!) She went on to inform me that facial times can vary due to how long the masks are left to set. Cute, but I've been to spas all over the world, so that little explanation didn't cut it with me. It also failed to justify a time variance of 16% by her watch, and 33% by mine. I paid for the service, and left--only to return 10 minutes later to request a partial refund. If I were going to pay $85 for a facial, why didn't the receptionist even bother to ask which one of the $85 services I wanted? I just paid $85 for a service that I didn't even ask for or choose?? With no request for clarification, even though the receptionist clearly didn't understand me??? She agreed to credit my card with $20, as a compromise. The gracious thing to do would have been to offer that to me BEFORE I'd paid and left the shop, but nevermind. Four days later, I see the charge for the entire service on my card, with no partial refund as the receptionist had assured me would happen. I've just called and left a message about the mix-up, and if it isn't properly resolved, I'll be left to dispute the entire charge with the credit card company. The spa's answering service is really strange, too. It doesn't even say it's a spa--just a guy, maybe the owner, stating his name. Pros: Pleasant staff Cons: Customer service, Professionalism more

horrible experience 1/25/2009

the staff was pleasant, but the overall experience was awful. the only enjoyable treatment was the facial, although it really only consisted of steam, a mask, and a facial massage. Cons: parking, ambience, service, expensive for quality of service more

Loved It 10/29/2008

What an awesome little spa! I recently had a spa party at spadyssey for a friend that was getting married. There were eight of us in all and spadyssey went above and beyond to make sure our day was special. The customer service was exceptional and the services (facials, massages and nails) were heavenly! Directions and parking were easy (parking was free, and just across the street, which was important since there were eight of us). The staff helped us organize everything and made my life soooo much easier! Pros: Great facials, best massage ever more

Wow... 10/17/2008

Spadyssey is a cute spa with some awesome services. Without a doubt, this is hands down the BEST PLACE FOR MASSAGE. Not just in Rhode Island, but anywhere my husband and I have traveled. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. We received impeccable service. When I had called to book our first appointment last March, I informed the receptionist that it was our anniversary. She then asked me if we would like to have any of our wedding songs played during our couples massages and facials (I was blown away and inquired more!) Upon arrival, we were gently welcomed and greeted by the staff and in just a few minutes we were ushered into a beautiful double-sized spa room designed just for couples. I chose to be on the side with the Asian decor, and my hubby was on the side with eastern Indian motifs. The tables felt like we were floating on clouds and the facials and massages were incredible (as I said before, after several years of massage, this easily topped the charts!) What made it even better was that after 5 or so minutes, our wedding songs began to play. It was an amazing experience. They are not the most expensive spa in Providence (which is the good thing). We definitely got our money?s worth and then some. I have since been back several times (once with a girl friend, a co-worker and I also purchased my mother a gift certificate from Spadyssey). I get my nails done there now as well because they have a wall full of great colors and the polish always last more than a week. Ahhhhh... I highly recommend it! Pros: service, therapists, atmosphere, aromas, ambiance more

greatest facial ever 5/19/2008

I had heard from a friend about spadyssey and how great they were so i finally decided to buckle down and pamper myself. I made an appointment to have a europa facial. i have had facials before but never one that sounded this good. When i walked in the atmosphere was very calming and the dim lights helped to relax me. The esthetician came out to greet me and she was very polite and professional. The whole facial was amazing, you could tell that she really knew what she was doing. She was very personable which made it easier to enjoy the facial. Next time i go im going to get the works, facial massage, mani/pedi everything! very enjoyable experience! Pros: excellent and professional service Cons: downtown traffic more

Ahhhhhhhhh! 12/14/2007

My girl friend and I had the most wonderful day at Spadyssey. Our husbands gave us gift certificates last month and presented them to us while we were out at dinner! We both had Symphony #5 Spa Packages (European Facial, European Swedish Massage and Signature Pedicure). Pros: Great Therapists, Best Massage Ever more

The Best! 12/12/2007

I absolutely ADORE Spadyssey. A co-worker introduced me to them a while back. While they may not have a sauna nor a million dollar facade, they are tops when it comes to skilled therapists and customer service. I have tried a few of the other spas downtown, including a much more expensive one, and walked away wishing I was at Spadyssey. Pros: World class massage therapists, great facials too. Great staff! Cons: smaller than the national mega chain-spas, no sauna... did I mention great massages more
