I took my wife, daughter and grandson out for a ""special"" Mother's Day and thought 1717 would be the perfect place for something a little extra, but I was sadly mistaken. The food was good, not great, but adequate. Unfortunately, the service was atrocious. I asked for a mimosa and the waiter completely forgot; my wife's, daughter's and grandson's beverages were never refilled; the plates (buffet) were never bussed and several remained on the table until I finally got a waiter to remove them. My family would never say they were disappointed, but I most certainly was. There were only a few entrees, one salad, no real deserts and drinks were extra (soda too) and the tab was $49.00 per person. I don't mind the price, but give me the appropriate level of service and food for a brunch of that expense. I will never go again, nor will I recommend it to any of my Dallas friends.
Pros: Food was good, museum was great
Cons: Service was completely missing, meal was expensive
