I chose SalonMe based on the CitySearch reviews. I wanted my first Brazilian wax, and made an appointment at SalonMe. Due to Sejal being gone for maternity leave, I had an appointment with Dora. Dora was quite pushy, offensive, and made me feel very uncomfortable. I won't go into the details for my disappointment because the real reason I am writing is to laud SalonMe for their reaction. After my appointment with Dora, I was still bewildered and quite upset about my experience, which was so unlike those reported on CitySearch. I wrote to SalonMe, providing details of my experience. I promptly received this response from the owner: "Thank you for contacting us and letting us know about your experience with Dora... Sejal is currently on maternity leave until the 21st of this month...Dora has only been with us for a very short time and I thank you for confirming my suspicions about her integrity and the quality of her work. Rest assured she will not be working at SalonMe any longer. I am very grateful to you for bringing this to our attention. We pride ourselves here on making sure that all of our clients have an entirely satisfying experience and I can't tell you enough how upset I am that your visit with us was uncomfortable, offensive, and of poor quality..."
The fact that the owner took the time to thank me for complaining shows that she truly does care about the customer's satisfaction. I had expected excuses or justification and perhaps a coupon at best, but Monika far exceeded my expectations. Not only did she offer much more than I expected in terms of compensation, she also took action to ensure that another person would not suffer through Dora. Although I have yet to experience a haircut, manicure/pedicure, or waxing by the highly praised staff, I have experienced superb customer service, convincing me that I will be pleased in the future, and that service has earned a loyal customer.
