Salon Me

I followed Jacqui A. from Salon Red. Honestly, I would follow her anywhere!! I'm of East-Indian descent, with long black hair. When I first started with her almost a year ago I was getting really bored with my hair, and I wanted some sort of change, but at the same time I wanted to keep it generally long. Jacqui immediately understood my trepidation (as I'd never colored my hair before), and suggested very natural-looking chocolate highlights. I actually just saw her again yesterday (my first time seeing her at Salon Me) and I just love love LOVE my hair!! The style is long, yet bouncy and voluminous, and the color looks so natural, and brightens up my face. Take it from someone who was overly-protective of her hair... Jacqui is an expert at what she does, is friendly and down-to-earth. She won't make you feel like you know nothing about your own hair (like a lot of stylists and colorists do), and therefore if you get nervous about something, you're not afraid to speak up! If you want someone who knows exactly what they're doing, and knows what look best on YOU, then go see Jacqui!!! Pros: beautiful and relaxing salon Cons: none!! more

After months of researching on the net and building up the nerve, I finally decided to go to Salon Me for my first Brazilian since everyone said that it is the best place for waxing. I am so happy that I did! I told them that it was my first time and Torva made me feel comfortable as she prepared me for my service. She told me exactly what to expect and she even gave me tips for after care.The atmosphere is super cool and casual, no airs or aloof receptionists and I was out in a jiff. I had been told that brazilians take at least an hour but Torva was finished in 20 mins. Thanks so much for making my first experience a great one! I will definately be back. I went to see Sejal based on reviews on this website. Coming from Miami, the waxing headquarters, it has been difficult finding someone who is quick and efficient. Unfortunately I was close to 15 min late for my appointment, but Sejal was still very understanding. She is a very quick waxer. When she said that she was done, I was shocked. I am very pregnant, about to deliver any day, so I expected the pain to be more severe than usual. I think she took 10 minutes (or at least it seemed to be that short) and I was done. I cannot see down there so Sejal gave me a mirror to look. Six hours later, no pain and it feels smooth. I would definitely recommend Sejal. She has a great personality and friendly demeanor. I found Sejal through citysearch in 2006 after some TERRIBLE brazilian waxing experiences across the city - and have been going to her religiously since then. She is SO fun. She -seriously- makes a potentially awkward service actually fun and enjoyable and is a total sweetheart. I recommend her to everyone I know. She also has a *thing* for eyebrows! Monika the owner also does RAD coloring. I go from dirty blonde to platinum, and she knows all the subtleties of the blonde spectrum, and I never would have found her if I didn't check out Sejal. Went for my FIRST Brazilian last night with Sejal. I was scared shytless but she was totally patient and put me right at ease. Thank you Sejal!!!!!!!! :-) I will admit, it is pretty painful, although my tolerance for pain is EXTREMELY low but I managed through it. If its your first time, I suggest taking a good friend...without my BFF and Sejal coaxing and encouraging me, I don't think I could have made it all the way through, lol. Sejal makes you feel like you're hanging with a old friend...there is no awkwardness at all. I am honestly hooked and will be going to ONLY Sejal from now on. See ya in 4 weeks Sejal!!!!!!!!! more

I went for my first Brazilian waxing a few weeks ago and had it done by Sejal. She was awesome!! She made me feel comfortable and relaxed, and I will go to no one else!!! The whole experience could not have been better for such an "awkard" procedure. She is so kind and talented, extremely reccomended!!!! I have been a client of Sejal's for about 6 months now and I absolutely love her. I just returned from my 3rd brazillian wax with her and I must admit, I actually look forward to going. I see her monthly, along with all of my close girlfriends. I highly recommend her and Salon Me - just don't steal my Thursday lunchtime appointment with her :) Once you wax with Sejal, you'll never want to look at a razor again! WOW! I just got the waxing works at medspa! brazilian, legs and armpits. This was my first brazilian and I was very scared but sejal made it feel more like i was spending some time with an old friend rather than having the hair ripped from my "you know what"! I was EXTREMELY nervous about a bikini waxing experience, but they made me feel incredibly comfortable about the whole thing... It was nearly painless and EXTREMELY quick. Easily 15 minutes. She made me feel comfortable about the whole situation and I love the results! more

As a newcomer to Atlanta, I was desperately seeking a bikini wax with someone who did not use the same stick twice! I was finding that if I asked a technician not to double dip, they would attempt throw each stick away with me, but could forget since it did not seem to be a habit. I stopped asking to see who was REALLY a single dipper. When I visited Sehjal, she threw every single stick away without a second thought and she made me feel like a long time friend on my very first visit! She is fast, efficient and CLEAN! Louis is by far the best hair stylist I've ever known. I have followed him from Toni&Guy in Dallas texas to here at Salon Me in Amsterdam Walk. His Style of cutting is phenominal as is his training and technique. When I first walked into Salon Me it took my breath away. From the warmth and friendliness of the staff to the architecture and design of the salon. Who would have thought an oasis of luxury and style could be tucked away in the corner of Amsterdam. I've had some really bad waxes. Waxes where the waxer talked on the phone the whole time, where she left big areas untouched, where I was in so much pain afterward that I had to treat the area gingerly for 3 or 4 days. I figured that this was my last attempt to make this procedure work for me. I checked out the reviews and made an appointment at Salon Me. I am now a TOTAL CONVERT. Sejal took excellent care of me. Professional, friendly, quick, and nearly painless... this was the best Brazilian wax I could have possibly imagined. I'll never go anywhere else. more

I'm so glad I found Becca! She updated my look from the first visit with great color and lots more layers.... I have enjoyed my hair so much more! She really knows her stuff.......listens to what I want, and makes it work with my hair... When I got married recently, Becca did a FANTASTIC job styling my hair for the wedding!! I got SO many compliments on my hair that day.. I knew I was in good hands, and it made me feel alot less stressed during a stressful time....I am eternally grateful for how well she came through for me that day! I was so thrilled to find Becca at Salon Me! After literally chasing down a mom with cute hair at my child's school, she recommended Becca, gave me her card and my hair and I have been happy ever since. I was accustomed to the typical shampoo, cut, blowdry and style. However, Becca does a "dry cut" which is fabulous because it allows her to see and work with all the natural crazy flips and waves that you can't see when your hair is wet. This means my hair is always quick and easy to style on my own. And I get lots of complements which to me is the true sign of a talented stylist. Becca is also great with kids - she cuts my 2 year old daughter's hair. She is always excited to go see Miss Becca and of course the puppies who are always there to greet us. Salon Me is low key and relaxed and everyone is always so friendly. I would recommend Becca to anyone! more

I made an appointment for my very first bikini wax--needless to say, I was not looking forward to it. I mean, who thought that ripping "the hair down there" out by the roots would be a good idea? But anything for beauty, right girls? So, I called and they had an opening that evening, so I booked it before I lost my nerve and chickened out completely. For anyone out there who has wanted to go bare but not had the nerve, THIS is your place! No need to be nervous--Sejal makes you feel perfectly at ease yet is a true professional. What's more, she is quick (important for anyone who doesn't like pain) and thorough, and the best part is that it is virtually pain free. What do I mean by virtually? I would equate the pain level equal to less than a carpet burn. I think from the time I walked in the door to when I paid and left was about 12 minutes! I'm already considering doing a full Brazillian next time. I'm thrilled because I don't have to worry about shaving for the next few weeks, and my husband couldn't be happier. Really, no down side whatsoever. So don't be nervous or shy--and don't go anywhere else if you want to go bare! I'm totally hooked and will definately be going back, and once you go you will be too! Sejal was fantastic!!! I went in for my first Brazilian a week ago. The whole experience was very positive. The staff is friendly and accomodating. Sejal makes you feel at ease immediately. She was very pleasant and conversational, which took the edge off a potentially nerve wracking experience. The whole process took maybe fifteen minutes with very minimal discomfort. She gave me some great tips on how to care for any skin sensitivities and helped me schedule my next appointment. I have been very pleased with the results and will definitely go back. I have been seeing Monika for 10+ years. I drive an hour to Atlanta just to go to Salon Me and for Monika to work her magic on my hair. She is excellent with color and her hair cuts and styles are always the best. I walk out of the salon feeling like a million dollars. I refuse to go anywhere else. Monika and her staff are always so accommodating and Steve at the front desk is the best! more

There is something so special about this place and it's totally the people who work there. My first visit to the Salon was for a haircut. Toni was so highly recommended that I figured I'd let her do anything to my hair. And she was incredible. Extremely attentive and actually listens to what you want. I did not leave there looking how she wanted but instead with a cut that compliments my look and lifestyle beautifully. I have been in a search for a salon forever and have tried several; key lime pie, dada, cutting room, van michaels, carter barnes, red door, cortex... Then I hear about this woman who can actually make a brazilian wax an enjoyable experience. Enter Segal, it was my first wax ever and I have an extremely, almost embarrassing, low threshold for pain. Segal was perfect, professional, and fast. I can't imagine ever not having a brazilian now, it feels really good. I will return again and again for their services and would be more than willing to try their associates talents as well. more
