Salon Red Candler Park

I have lived in ATL for over 5 years, and been to several salons. Lots of salons are nice, but my favorite guru's work at Salon Red. Kristin and Mary Ann are both at the Candler Park location. The new location is very nice, much more spacious than the old building. MaryAnn is the only person I trust with my color. No one else does the detail and mixes the colors the way she does...she is absolutely amazing. My hair is naturally blonde, and her highlights keep my color looking fresh and natural, I get so many compliments, and have referred so many friends to salon thanks to her work. Kristin is a phenomenal esthetician...she does great waxing, even the brazilians are enjoyable. She also dyes my lashes - which is fantastic, saves me from my mascara addiction. I have referred several to Kristin, though her services are a bit less noticeable. None the less, I love them both - and they were good enough to be my beauty squad for the last 4yrs, including on my wedding day. I highly recommend both, they are extremely talented. more

I have been a client of Ashley Williams at Salon Red Decatur for about a year and a half now and I wanted to take a moment to RAVE about her!!!! First of all, she is always so pleasant to be around and you honestly feel an instant sense of relaxation when you're around her. She begins your salon experience by asking you for your thoughts and desires for your color - whether I have stayed the same or want a new change. I have no idea abou the "ins and outs" of color design, but I do know that each and EVERY time I leave the salon - I am truly pleased with how my hair looks and feels! My color has such a depth and richness to it that I've never had before. I receive so many compliments about my hair color - it's all thanks to Ashley!!!!!! I have been to many high priced salons in Atlanta and no one would cut my hair as I asked them to. Finally, I saw Miranda at Salon Red in Decatur. She listened to me and discussed whether I had realistic expectations and gave me the perfect haircut I have been searching for at other salons. I wanted my bangs cut straight across and long layers around my face and a little in the back. I have no idea why this was a challenge for other hairdressers but I am so happy I found Miranda. The only negative I can say about this salon is it needs fresh paint and a general sprucing up. Miranda is definately worth ignoring the neglected surroundings. I have been a customer of Salon Red for almost three years. My brows look perfect! Kristin is a great esthetician - witty, meticulous and gracious. My brows are shaped very well - she works with what you have and brings out the best in them. I lived in NYC and DC, and paid twice as much for less service. Reception is friendly and quick, they always make an effort to work me in - even during the busiest weeks. I get my haircut somewhere else, but I make a special trip every few weeks to get my brows done here - worth the extra trip. more

I had a great experience at salon red in downtown decatur. I had been there before but this was my first time with Miranda. She is great!! She really listened to me and I love my hair!!! When I moved to Atlanta about 3 years ago, Kristen was recommended to me by a friend I trust. I went to her and loved her, but the salon was far away from my house, so I stopped going. Within 6 months I was back! The attention to detail and quality of care was not to be found anywhere else, and I highly recommend Kristen to anyone who wants the best in waxing. I haven't used her for anything else, but I am sure she is fantastic as well. more

Kristen "shaped" my eyebrows!! Everywhere I have been they just wax the stray hairs under your eyebrow, but Kristen actually shaped them. My eyes look so much different. Then she gave me eyelash extentions, that night at dinner my boyfriend couldn't stop staring at my eyes (he couldn't figure out what was different, and I never told him my secret). I love that Kristen has her own private room. It's very quiet and relaxing so you don't feel like everyone is staring at you. I can't wait to go back and see her for a facial!! Thanks Kristen! I just went to Kristen to get some lash extensions done. My extensions look fantastic and she was really fast. I love them. She has also been doing my waxing for quite some time and I don't think there is anyone better. Especially brazillans. I have recommened friends and they all love her just as much as I do! more

Untrained and unethical!!!!!! Jessica the owner can't cut hair to save her life and was yelling at her staff right in front of me. This was my first time to Salon Red as I just moved here from out of state. It was a Saturday morning and I could tell they were busy but that is no reason to yell at someone. The staff member she was yelling at was just some young guy, I felt really bad for him.. She was so focused on everyone else and her own personal problems that she jacked up my hair. Also, and this is the worst part, there were fruit flies everywhere, I thought I was going to get sick! I guess the ac had broken and they opened up the doors. I love Salon Red and my stylist Alana! I have been going for about a year now and would not go anywhere else! I drive 40 miles one way because I do not trust anyone else! : ) She does both my cut and color, and does such an amazing job on both. I was in town for my sister's wedding and she recommended I go to SalonRed to get my hair done. Being a bridesmaid is challenging enough in a foreign city, but worrying that you'll get prom hair by a strange stylist can be exceptionally scary. Amber B. took all the fear out of that. She listened to what I explained and we talked constantly with her asking questions about this or that. I got a beautiful hair style that lasted throughout the night and would have probably stayed in 3 more days if I hadn't taken it down. I felt glamorous, and got compliments throughout the night. OOOKAAAY? OK! I have been soul searching this city for 4 YEARS (thank you very much) for a stylist who knows what they are doing, will take the time to hear a girl out as well as call me out. What I mean by this is when I ask for the latest hottest new super model cute short cut,,,he will, ever so gently, in a "not-in-this-lifetime-sista" kind of way, suggest another "approach" so to say. Well, I haven't had much luck finding this "miracle of God" UNTIL YESTERDAY! YES it's TRUE - I FINALLY found a stylist who not only took the time to SINCERELY listen to my needy, whiny, know-it all a** (excuse the french - but let's face it ladies and gents....aren't we all needy little beyotches when it comes to our manes?) He suggested a SMART, cool and hip hairdo which matches my age, occupation AND lifestyle - and trust me, mama girl has a very "interesting" lifestyle so to say! SO, WHO IS THIS Master of Hair you ask? His name is TIMOTHY - one of NY's finest. He has recently relocated to this fine city in which we live....why you ask? So he can LET THE CHILDREN HAAAAVEE IT! Yes...Timothy snipped, rocked, sculpted, twisted, along with a little finger play, a new hip and sassy, off the chain, rockin' new hairstyle for me! To say the least, I, Ms. Lea, am VERY happy. I have very curly hair and like to wear it straight majority of the time. I couldn't find anyone to tame my hair until I started to see Mary Ann. I have been seeing Mary Ann for about 5 years. She does it all - color, cut, and flat iron. I have recommended her to all my friends (all of which have different hair textures) and they always love her. If you are looking for a great stylist, you should see Mary Ann. Your hair will be thanking you for a long time and you'll feel like a million bucks! I recently went to see Erin at Salon Red for color and a cut. I wanted something new and slightly edgy, yet age appropriate (I'm not 20 years old anymore!). She really listened to me and gave me serveral different suggestions. We ended up keeping my length (yah!) but added soft bangs. I love the color, too (no more gray). My husband loves it, too. I would recommend Erin to anyone - especially to us baby boomers who still want to look a little hip! Pros: Parking, experienced stylists, great shampoo! Cons: None that I experienced more

I've been coming to Salon Red since they were at their old location behind The Flying Biscuit. I've been seeing Monique for my highlights since then and she always does an incredible job. I started seeing Melissa for my cut a year ago and she is great, she does the best blow-out I've ever seen on my hair. I see Kristin in the spa for waxing and she is really, really good. I highly recommend Salon Red to anyone looking for a hip yet relaxed salon with creative, experienced stylists that really listen to you. I passed by Salon Red while I was in Decatur last week so I decide to stop in. There was no wait and my stylist was very friendly. Unfortunately the haircut I got was terrible. I specifically asked for my hair to flip out in the back and instead she tapered it and used a razor to shave the back of my neck since the hair was cut so short. Then to make matters worse, the bangs that I said need to go behind my ear are up to my eyebrows, over 3 inches from my ear. I am easy to please and have never complained about a haircut before, even Supercut did a better job and for a lot less money. For $45 I'd expect my stylist to at least listen to me. I am not happy with my haircut or my color but since my hair ws cut way too short, I decided to try to get my color redone and am still unsatsfied with the results. I guess I will have to wait a while and next time I will heed the warnings! I'm a student and picked up a $100 haircut and hi-lite special card at agnes scott. I saw Jodi, and she made me feel very comfortable from the beginning. She asked me exactly what I wanted and what I didn't like about my current haircut. She gave me suggestions and explained a very natural and low maitenance approach to color. After a bitter breakup, 50lbs weight loss and renewed happiness, my 45th birthday was approaching and I needed a new look. I work in the Downtown Decatur area and have passed this salon many times. I finally decided to sneak-a-peek and man, let me tell you, I am happier than a fat kid with cake! My appointed stylist was Rebecca and I liked her the moment I met her. Not only was she able to give me great information on the health of my hair, she gave me the best color that I have ever had. I was in and out in 90 minutes. One thing that immediately grabbed me the moment that I arrived was the overall energy of the place. It is very rare to walk into a salon environment and hear happy conversations and see smiling faces. Kudos on also having the most attractive staff on the Eastside of town.
