At last! 4/8/2012

This weekend was my inaugural visit to the salon and I could not have walked out a happier gal. I found in Lisa a stylist that really does care, and celebration is in order. She is a love and so genuine in the attention paid to what I was looking to accomplish in the chair that day. A multitude of thanks goes out to her. more

Best Hair salon in Seattle 4/22/2011

I drove to Seattle based on recommendations for the Robert Samuel Salon. I had the same hairdo for over 10 years. Robert asked me to trust him, I did and now have a stunning, sassy new do with spring highlights. Very customer oriented salon. Would recommend Robert to all. A great experience with many compliments at work the following day. more

Luis was amazing 2/16/2011

Luis was amazing!!! - very professional yet fun to work with. My hair looks and feels the best ever has. I enjoyed the entire time at this super low key but also very customer service oriented salon. Fast foil, fabulous haircut and the best blow out that anyone has ever done. I would recommend Luis hands down. Loved the entire afternoon at Robert Samul Salon on Queen Anne. more

The Robert Samuel Salon offers best Cut and Color in Seattle!! Professional Team, awesome Salon and best of all - you walk out with a Hair Do and feel like a million bucks. The color is made to look natural, the cut by Robert the Owner himself is perfectly matched to every client. Robert is the best and his experience is very obvious in all he does. I know many who will only have their hair Cut and Colored by Robert - If you are looking for a change of Stylist and you want to the look your best - Call the Robert Samuel Salon and ask if Robert can squeeze you in! Robert Samuel - worst experience! 8/25/2010

I went to Robert Samuel expecting a great new Aveda salon, and after reading reviews thought the customer service would be great. Instead I was hardly even said hello to. Robert who I think is who cut my hair, although he never introduced himself, seemed annoyed that I was there, disgusted with my hair cut, and didn't even condition my hair. Although there were many drinks and snacks around he never offered me as much as a glass of water. Other people came in while he was cutting and he was uber friendly to them. At the end of the cut he said, ""Well, hope this works for you."" As if I didn't have a choice if it didn't. Plus he never even showed me the back of my hair! Probably 3 times I mentioned I didn't like puffy hair and low and behold he styled it as big as possible! I was so irritated. Glad I didn't pay full price, but it wasn't even worth what I paid. I'd rather go to the aveda institute where they at least greet you. more

AMAZING! 8/20/2010

I just had my hair colored and cut but Robert himself. Amaaaazing! He truly knows what he's doing. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. I had an amazing time while I was there...very fun and friendly. I'm so happy I went to Robert Samuel Salon! more

Fantastic Color!! 1/11/2010

Tired of the same old haircuts and so-so coloring I seem to receive everywhere I go, I decided to try out this small salon on the top of Queen Anne. I could not be more pleased with the results. I had a partial foil and a hair cut and I honestly have never been this pleased with a foil job before!\r \r Highly recommend this salon...and Tino!! more

I highly recommend going to Robert Samuel Salon! I had a great experience there just the other week. Iris cut and colored my hair and I couldn't have been happier with the results. Compared to other places I've been in Seattle, this salon is by far my favorite! Pros: Great service! Very experienced hairdressers! more

There is no place on earth I'd rather go! 9/24/2009

Where should I start. First the ""1 star"" comment is untrue. I have had the honor of going to this salon since 1999 and not once have I witnessed anyone being treated unfairly in any way by Robert or any of his staff through the years. And let me be clear I have been in the salon when the client has come in with a less than adequate attitude and still that person is treated with respect.\r Now that's out of the way, let me write about the fabulous service I have received by Robert and others that have been on staff in the past in his salon. He has a fine way of letting me know that a particular style for me is good or bad, he does the most fabulous color that anyone could dream of -- it's a rare moment when someone doesn't comment on my cut or color. That's a compiment to Robert! I felt so good about him and his salon that I referred two of my friends, My Sisterhood, to Robert Samuel and we all agree that we are in very good hands when it comes to our hair. \r He is the very best hairdresser plus I consider him a friend who is full humor, tremendous integrety and a wonderful voice. Where else can I go to have so much fun and feel gorgeous when I leave. I'd travel miles, if need be that's for sure. Amore Roberto!\r Pros: The best ever! Cons: Not! more

Robert ~ My hero 9/24/2009

I had been going to a hairdresser in Kirkland for over 12 years. She didn't seem to want to cut out of the box. A very good friend of mine, another of the Sisterhood, told me about this amazing guy she goes to on Queen Anne hill. I happen to love the way her hair was styled. So, I bit the bullet and made the appointment.\r \r As soon as I arrived, I felt so welcome, like I had gone there all my life. I told Robert that I wanted something new. I was sick of the same ole', same ole'. Well, he took the the initiative and cut my hair into a style that he said would look good with the shape of my face. Not to mention the fact that I have no patience with unmanageable hair, I now have a cut that is fast, easy and gorgeous. Let me tell you, since that day, everywhere I go, the people I see are extremely complimentary about how they love my hair cut, including people that I see all the time. He performed a miracle on my very thin, fine, liveless hair.\r \r If it wasn't for Robert and his expertise eye for hair I would still have the ""mullet"" look. Home for difficult hair 9/24/2009

I am one of those odd women who ""just don't do hair"". Not that I wouldn't like to I just have no patience or ability to work with hair. Unfortunately I have very thick and somewhat unruly hair with part of it very straight and other parts very wavy. I had gone to Gene Juarez for many many years for both my color and cuts. They did a great job but were extremely expensive and I had to see one person for cuts and another for color. My very close friends (I call them my sisters) had recommended Robert to me so I decided to give him a try. On my first visit I was a bit apprehensive but needed color as well as a cut, I decided to be safe and do a basic all over color, my cut was free. \r \r I told Robert I don't do hair and needed an easy wash and wear type cut but still wanted it to look current and cute. He nailed it first time out. I now have new salon that does better work than Gene Juarez for a lot less money and I only have to see one person. If you need someone to guide you in choosing the right cut and color this is the place. My hair always feels great after a color and never feels like it was over processed, and the look is just fabulous. I come from Bellevue to get my hair done and I hate when I have to come to the city but Robert is worth every trip. \r \r Thank you Robert!\r Pros: Just the best! more

worst hair experience ever 9/16/2009

I had to get my hair cut and color corrected before being in my friends wedding. I had very dark brown dye on my hair and a good 7 inches of grow out (my hair is naturally medium brown). I called the day before to make sure that they would be able to lighten the dark and then dye it all to be a rich brown. I was told that they could and were having a special and the haircut would be free. I was elated. I went in the next day and told him that I wanted to keep my length add some layers and I wanted bangs. I also confirmed what I wanted done with the color. As far as the color is concerned he put some chemical on my head, put me under the dryer and walked away for an hour. He rinsed my hair and proceeded to the hair cut. He asked if I wanted shoulder length hair and I emphatically said ""no""! I asked about the bangs and he told me that my hair would never lay right and refused to give me bangs. I got my hair chopped shoulder length takin about 6-7 inches off when I only wanted a slight trim (and my hair was perfectly healthy) no bangs and I was done. Where is the color you ask, well $140 for some peroxide, a free (bad) haircut and I was done. I was informed that to color my hair would only be an additional $70. Never again and I strongly suggest NEVER going here! BTW when I got home I cut my own bangs and they are adorable! Cons: everything more

Great deal for students! 9/15/2009

My friend and I had back to back appointments 2 weeks ago with Iris and we absolutely love her and love our hair! She listened to exactly what we wanted and made us feel comfortable. She is definitely an easy stylist to talk to while she cuts your hair, very funny and wise -- we actually had some really good conversations! Really refreshing compared to other salons and stylists that I felt really forced you to chat. Also, when we went we were the only customers so we felt like we had the salon to ourselves. Super relaxing. And the best part is that my friend and I are SPU students and so instead of a $45 haircut, ours were only $30! That makes my pocketbook much happier. I'm just sad that I just started going to this salon and I'm a senior! more

My new regular Salon 8/30/2009

So, I'm usually the victim with the salon horror stories....with the terrible cuts, and bad service... But coming to Robert Samuel salon was such a relief!!!! From the outside it looks really nice, and pricey...so even though I live on Queen Anne, I never went in, until yesterday. Surprisingly, the cost was low for an upscale salon! My hair stylist was TINO, and he was amazing! Very kind, and provided me with A+++ service. He gave me the perfect bob cut, with the layers just how I envisioned it. He also added in some abstract cuts recommended by him, and it's awesome!!!! I can definently trust his vision from now on! I am so thankful that I found my regular stylist/salon....it is such a relief. So if you are tired of crappy service, and terrible cuts...go to Robert Samuel. Highly Recommended!! Robert knows EXACTLY how to cut & color my hair & that's not easy! I wouldn't ever think of going anywhere else. A small personalized salon w/ lovely plantings in a pleasant neighborhood. You can even park in front! Pros: Professional, friendly, fun & clean more

Terrible haircut, will not suggest to anyone. The cost was awful for the poor quality of style provided. It does not fit my sense of style and is just hideous and will take months recover from. Pros: Clean Cons: cost more

Not the place for men 4/5/2009

Women may have a great expereince here, but as a guy, I recieved a so-so haircut and paid $25 bucks more than at other places. Definitely not worth it! Cons: Way over priced!!! more

I have been searching for the right hair stylist and finally I found one. Iris is talented and personable. She suggested some great ideas in how to treat my hair and maintain it. I would highly recommend her. The staff was all friendly and salon was clean. Would definitely return. more
