Great Wild West Fun 11/26/2005

Rawhide is great fun. My family had a great time having a BBQ dinner then watching the wild west stunt shows. My little one (4 years old) was a little frightened but he still had fun. It's also great that they have free admission and a ton of parking. It would be a great place for a little cowboy birthday party. The staff are in costumes and all look really authentic. more

Worth seeing once 11/11/2005

Rawhide is a fun, albeit "hooky", place. If you are a tourist it is fun to see once. If you live in Arizona, take a visitor their to see what it is all about. Dinner isn't the best and it isn't cheap, so that doesn't come highly recommended. It is worth seeing one time, so check it out! more

Fun, Western Type Feel 9/21/2005

This place wasn't at all what I expected. I'm not originally from Arizona and was looking for a place that still had the old west feel. This is the closest thing I could find in arizona and while it is fun - it can be expensive to have the whole experience. The restaurant up there is decent but not very cheap. I think I would have rather gone to a chain steakhouse! more

Campy but fun 8/30/2005

Rawhide is a fake "old west" town set up in North Scottsdale. It's a great place to take out of towners for a little bit of cheesy fun. They have souvenir shops, stagecoach rides, camel and burro rides and shows going on most of the time. If you want to really do it right, try the Sundown Cookout. A hayride will take you out to the chuckwagon site where you'll sit around the campfire eating "grub" off of tin plates, listening to tales of the Old West, and enjoying live music. Great for a group or a special occasion. Rawhide is moving to Chandler at the end of 2005, so if you're in the East Valley make sure you check it out then. more

a must see 8/29/2005

Rawhide is something everybody in Arizona should see at least once. They have old time gun battles in the road and a great train ride. The kids will love being able to ride a camel or a burro. My husband thought it was cool that one of the camels was in the movie Mummy. The restaurant serves good food for a good price. There is live country music and dancing. This is a great place to take out of town guests. My grandparents loved it when they came out. Better get there so as they are moving at the end of October and they won't open again until December 2005.. more

old town Arizona, today 8/21/2005

This is a great place to take the whole family, or if you live in Arizona and have guests visiting from out of town. It is an old style town where the workers are "in character" and put on fake gunfight shows and other fun stuff. There is a train, a petting zoo, and shops to browse through. It is especially fun for kids, but be aware that during the summer months it will be VERY hot there! more

Rawhide is the best 8/19/2005

Definatly take a trip out to Rawhide if you havent been yet before it closes. We always take our out of town guests here. They always enjoy it. Its absolutly free to get in and they have free gunfights and attractions through out the day. The resturant and ice cream parlor are top notch, and there is soo much stuff to look at in the shops. My favorite part is the cowfolk. Everyone who works there are all dressed up and really get into character. Must see! more

A Classic Must See 8/6/2005

You have not seen Arizona until you have been to Rawhide. It's an old western town. The employees are all in character. There is a wonderful and surprisingly clean petting zoo. There are great shops and gunfights in the streets. You can experience a stage coach ride, see Indians, or ride the mining train. You can even pan for gold. A truly educational experience. more

Great Time at the Rawhide Sundown Cookout 7/29/2005

If you are looking for a special night out with the kids - then the Rawhide Sundown Cookout is the place to go. Open now until Oct 31 - when Rawhide has to move it's location. You take a hay ride out to the cook out site, you get a choice of steak or chicken, a cowboy tells stories by the bon fire, you get to roast marshmallows. And in the end, there is country music and line dancing. Our kids had a great time. I would even take out of town guests here. Definitely worth the money - if not a little cheesy. more

Fun place to visit sometimes 7/8/2005

This is an old western world out in North Scottsdale. It's set up to look like the old days with railraods and little shops as well as funny shows. There is a lot of shopping there. The only downsides are that the prices are a bit high considering what you're purchasing, it is extremely hot in the summer time, and there really isn't much to DO there. It's fun to visit once or twice just to see what's going on there, but otherwise, not a regular stop. It can be a lot of fun your first time though. more
