Arrow Pest Control is the best exterminator we've ever used. They are very informative and can explain exactly why you are having the problem you're having and will give you options on how you can help prevent it. In our case it was scorpions, and Steve was extremely helpful with suggestions on which plants to remove from around the house, where we could seal off parts of the house, etc. As a result, after 3 treatments we have no more scorpions.
They are also very child and pet friendly, and can tell you exactly what chemicals they are using and any side effects they may have. I won't use any other exterminators but Arrow.

The Roaring Fork is a great place to take out of towners for the best food in the West. Owned by local chef Robert McGrath, his signature dishes are imaginative and delicious. You won't find anything here that is bland... everything has a little kick to it, but most dishes are not too spicy.
Their hamburgers are the best I've ever had anywhere, but you can only get them in the bar. The food in the main restaurant is a little more upscale, but absolutely spectacular.
Make reservations, especially if you're going on the weekends.

The Keg doesn't have a huge menu, but what they have is delicious. Featuring traditional steak house food, their steaks, chicken and seafood are all well-prepared, nicely served and average priced for a nice restaurant. Their patio is lovely, especially on a chilly evening when the fireplace is roaring.
Each entree is served with a twice-baked potato which makes the whole meal worthwhile. Other side dishes, soups and salads are offered a la carte, and the servings are large enough for two people to share. Desserts are also generously portioned and very good.
They have a private room that can be reserved for large parties, and they also offer a special menu for groups, such as a rehearsal dinner or a corporate affair.

Terri's is a fun place to go and browse, although I find their prices to be quite high. Their selection changes frequently and they offer a wide range of home furnishings, from sofas to wall art. If you are looking to furnish a complete room Terri's is often a good place to look, because sometimes people will consign eveything they've had in a room... rugs, sofas, lamps, art... and they all go together.

I recently visited the new Red Kilt Grill and Pub at the Chandler mall. I was excited because I am a huge pub fan and enjoy going to them for the good food and music they usually offer.
The Red Kilt is a boring, typically Americanized version of a pub. The decor is the most authentic thing about it, and that's not saying a lot. The menu offers very little traditional fare and focuses more on items you could find prepared better at almost any sports bar. They are also overpriced, with the average entree price being around $12.
The beer selection is poor. The only Irish beers offered are Guinness and Harp (which the bartender called a "Harp's"), along with a couple of mainstream Scottish beers. They offer no live music at any time. When I was told they couldn't have live music, I asked the manager why it was OK for Garduno's (directly across the plaza) to have live mariachi bands and got no answer.
Overall, I am very disappointed and do not foresee them making a go of it. That's too bad, because it's a great location with the potential to be a really good pub.

Fry's grocery store consistently has the best prices on groceries. Their staples like milk, meat, juice and produce are almost always cheaper than any other store in the area, even when they are not on sale. When they do put stuff on sale, it's usually a very good deal.
The selection is pretty good, the bakery is excellent, and some of the stores have a kids corner where kids can play while parents shop. They also double (sometimes triple) coupons, so combined with their great sales you can save a ton of money.

I've been going to this Rolf's location since it opened, and it has literally outgrown itself. It is hard to get an appointment, always crowded and noisy, and I feel rushed. They only offer hair and makeup services, so you can't get a manicure or other spa services while you're there. Also, if you're booked with one of their top stylists, plan to tip at least 3 different people: one who shampoos, one who cuts, one who styles and possibly more.
The stylists I've had there do a nice job, but I feel that there are better salons who offer a more pleasant, relaxing experience than here. For the top dollar that you pay for the prestige of going to Rolf's, you should expect a lot more than they offer.

My boys love going to Cool Cuts because of the games, movies and train table. However, we've never had a stylist there who is able to cut my oldest son's unruly hair. They are usually inexperienced stylists who don't stay at the salon long. At $13 for a kids haircut, I expect a little more.
The shop is fun and the kids do enjoy going there, so if you have a child who is anxious about having a haircut, it's a good place to go. If you're looking for a really great kid's haircut, spend your money somewhere else.

El Zocalo has great food, but it's the patio and margaritas that are the real draw. On a spring evening it's absolutely wonderful to sit out there among the bouganvillas and jasmine, listening to the fountain and maybe the soft music of a mariachi band. They have a wide variety of specialty margaritas: my favorite is the raspberry margarita made with Chambord.
The food is very reasonably priced and the portions are large enough to share. My friends and I like to go there and share 2 or 3 appetizers, which are more than enough for a meal.
There tend to be waits on the weekends, but if you go on a weeknight there is usually not a crowd at all.

The food at the Chandler location of Tomaso's is not quite as good as the Phoenix location, but the restaurant is beautiful. It's spacious and they have high backed booths to add a little privacy. There is usually live music on the weekends. It's not really a place to take the kids, but wonderful for a nice "grown up" night out.
My favorite at Tomaso's is their canneloni. It's stuffed with an absolutely awesome blend of veal, beef and cheese and the bechamel sauce on top is heaven. Since they change their menu seasonally they may not have it listed, but the chef is always happy to prepare it on request.
The wait staff is friendly and most of them are fairly knowledgeable about wine recommendations. They do take reservations, so call ahead even if it's just a couple of hours before you want to dine.
