This place is simply awesome. Every weird little sea creature that you could think of is here. Weird looking jellyfish, cut sea horses. morray eels, and even sharks. There is a large area that inside on 2 different levels, and then there is also a large section outside (that's where the sharks are). There is also an odd room that you go in that has birds everywhere. I do not know what that has to do with the sea, but it was interesting just the same. The only downside is that it was bit pricey. If you have AAA they gave me a discount with my AAA card.

This is a nice, relaxing amusement park in Southern California. It is not nearly as crowded or hectic as the other parks nearby. It is a great place for families as there are lots of things for kids...
This is a nice, relaxing amusement park in Southern California. It is not nearly as crowded or hectic as the other parks nearby. It is a great place for families as there are lots of things for kids that aren't too scarey. That includes lots of fun rides and craft-making things to do as well. There is a fun disco there that is always packed with tons of people in their twenties and thirties. The corkscrew is probably their most popular ride. It may not be as exciting as the other parks, but there is something to be said for less excitement.

This is one of those little hole in the wall type restaurants that nobody seems to know about. But once you find it, it is like discovering buried treasure. I am not a sushi aficionado but I do know what I like and they have some great sushi here. Like I said, I do not know a lot bout sushi and the staff is always very patient I ask many questions about the menu. They have even given me some free samples when I was unsure of whether of not I would like something. In addition, they have sake which makes the dining experience even better!

In a word: Margaritas. This Mexican restaurant has a lot going for it, but their margaritas are simply the best. Of course they have plenty of other great things worth mentioning, like the food. I love Mexican food and sometimes I get so used to the generic taste of the big chains that I forget how great a little Mexican restaurant can be. The place has a great feel and the staff is friendly as well.

I grew up going to Chew Dental Corp. and did not know how well off I was until I moved in my early twenties and discovered how painful dental visits can be. This office is run by a handful of Chew (yes, that is their real last name) dentists. Dr. Chew, his wife, and various other family members make up the team and they are all nice as can be and very gentle. In addition, their nurses must go through some special training because they are all incredibly gentle as well. I try to schedule an appointment for whenever I will be back in town because I have never found such great and gentle dentists!

This is a great hobby shop that I frequented often as a young boy, and stop in occasionally still when I am in town. They are still in the same building that they started in and still have a simply amazing inventory. They have lots of different things like trains, remote control cars and planes, and model building kits. The thing that I like is the car kits that you buy and put together. They always have a good selection for me to choose from. I remember buying kits for Star Wars ships here when I was a kid. Still a great shop with great staff.

This place has been around forever. I remember spending time here as a little kid, and it is still going strong. They have two different courses that you can follow here. There is a bit of a river running through the courses, with bridges and such taking you over the water. Whenever I go, at least one person in my party loses a ball in the water. They also have a fairly large arcade with a good mix of new and old games. Of course they have good old ski-ball and other games that give you tickets to get some cheap prize. They also have a fun trampoline area where you can jump up real high in a protected area.

This video store has been here for a real long time. It popped up in the early eighties when renting video's was first starting to get popular, and it somehow stood the test of time and competition from the big chains (you know who I speak of!). It is a nice place with lots of different rentals, but I do find the layout to be fairly confusing and messy. In addition, it can be really difficult to get your hands on any of the new releases. It is good for older films, certainly cheaper than renting at one of the big chains, but if you are looking for the newest releases it is probably best to stick to the big chains

There is not a lot of things to do for entertainment in Simi Valley, so at one point or another I would guess that most of the towns residents have visited this bowling alley. It is a great hangout and you can almost always get a lane without waiting. They also have some arcade games (including my favorite: Ms. Pac-Man) for entertainment. They have a bar area that you can hang out in, or you can take your drinks out to the lanes with you. It's a nice, safe environment to have some fun and some drinks at.

When it comes to video rental stores, I am not a fan of the big chains. I worked at one for years and their selection and atmosphere do little to excite me. So I am constantly on the look-out for a nice "mom and pop" shop to do my renting at. This place definetly fits the bill. In addtion to having a nice selection of movie (DVD and VHS) they also rent lots of video games and video game equipment. This is a great plus for someone like me that wants to periodically play some games without throwing down a small fortune on the consoles and games. You can rent both here. Even PC games are available for rental here!
