Kerby's is a fairly large store that is easy to find on the corner of Main and Mesa Drive in Mesa. I've never seen it too crowded but the parking lot has never been empty either. They carry big brand names and are much cheaper than the actual name brand stores in their prices. It's a family run business and you can tell that by the way the salespeople handle themselves. They are helpful and you will get more than one person that offers to help you. I appreciated that they didn't hover around though and let me browse and didn't try to convince me that I had to buy the furniture that day.

Haws Flowers looked like a little hole in the wall flower store but it is close to my house and I drove by it often enough that I decided to give it a shot. I was very impressed with the quality! The salesperson was extremely helpful in working with me and helping me to pick out a good colorful plant to give to my grandma. And according to grandma - it lasted a long time even though she neglected to care for it the whole time. Haws Flowers also carries a good selection of candles too. So if you don't want the actual flowers in your home - you can always buy the candles that smell like flowers.

The Mesa Arts Center is fairly new to Mesa. It is a very interesting building both in looks and design. So fascinating that I had to check it out myself! My favorite part is outside they have fountains and streams that change direction depending on the time of day. I walked inside and saw the huge theatre for shows and saw many people taking classes like ballet and other dance there. The prices seem reasonable for the classes and good shows seem to be on their way. My coworker raves about the dance class that she is currently taking at the Mesa Arts Theatre.

We tried out Brunswick after I found a coupon for it in my Entertainment Book. We ended up having such a great time that we made plans to go back and try out the Extreme Bowling (where they turn off the lights and use black lights, lazers, etc and have unlimited bowling). It seems like it has been there for a while but typical of bowling alleys. They have good graphics on the screen that tell you where you should bowl and make fun of you when you don't do that well. Smoking has been banned inside Mesa public buildings so it's a very pleaseant experience!

When I first moved to Arizona, my piano was still in Washington. I was interested in renting a piano and started to visit some of the local piano stores. Washburn is located in kind of a random area but I gave it a shot. The employees are very helpful and told me about the option of leasing a piano to buy. I decided to wait and get my piano down here from Washington but I enjoyed the friendly staff and how they let me play on their pianos as well.

Tucked away behind MCC and the Fiesta Mall is this older Harkins Theatre. Is a no-frills theater that doesn't have stadium seating or anything. But the best part is - that people seem to have forgotten its there. As a result - it's a much more enjoyable experience to see a movie that will be sold out for weeks at a different theatre. Matinees here are even better since at times you can have the theatre all to yourself! Definitely find this Harkins.

My coworkers and I love to frequent this place for lunch. They have a great special where you can get a giant calzone and a drink for under $5. Since the calzone is so large - I usually end up getting two meals out of it! It's a small family run business that has two locations - one in Gilbert and one in Chandler. You usually have to get there early on Fridays since they fill up really quickly! I love to take out of town visitors here for the simple great. Nothing fancy but definitely a favorite!

I sent my husband to this dentist office on a recommendation. Dr. Whiting is a dentist that has been in the area for years and even runs two different offices in the same city. But since he is so busy - he has other dentist in his office. Unfortunately these dentist aren't nearly as friendly or as knowledegable. It took one dentist 3 times before he could finish a root canal! So if you can see Dr. Whiting - go for it! But if he is too busy - I wouldn't bother with this office.

This place wasn't at all what I expected. I'm not originally from Arizona and was looking for a place that still had the old west feel. This is the closest thing I could find in arizona and while it is fun - it can be expensive to have the whole experience. The restaurant up there is decent but not very cheap. I think I would have rather gone to a chain steakhouse!

My niece had been talking about coming here for her 4th birthday party for the last 6 months. She was so excited. I expected it to be like Chucke Cheese or one of those places but it was pretty cool. The prices were pretty good - and both adults and kids can play on the big tree or in the lagoon. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves and I don't think the parents had to break the bank or anything either.
