Make sure to take lots of Dramamine! I mean...I took two and hour before the boat ride and I still got sick! I did a half day with some friends and it was a blast! The crew was very knowledgeable, and was always willing to help out the novices on board. I caught a grip of sea bass, and even though they're not the tastiest of fish, it was still a good meal when I got home. Just get there early as parking is a real pain. We had to park about a mile or two away, and after a half day of fishing it wasn't fun walking back to the car. more

If you are looking for a good afternoon of fun this is the trip for you. Good for the family and beginner. Three of us took out on the Daily Double half day PM boat at the end of July. The boat was $37 each, tackle was $9 and a one day California fishing license will run you $11. We fished out off the coast of Imperial Beach and the silver strand. This day was great (with the exception of my girlfriend getting sick after her fourth catch). Almost everyone caught the limit of sand bass with a few barracuda in the mix. The crew was great; they instructed us on the best techniques, helped rig our lines up and even cleaned the fish for a small fee. Food and drinks are available on the boat at reasonable prices.
