Our family has been going to Dr. Ostaad at Rite Family Dental for 5 years now and we think he's the best. For starters, they are open on Saturdays which is a huge bonus for anyone who has a demanding job (like being a dentist yourself). The office staff is perfect, and the dental hygienist does a superb job for cleanings and whitening teatments. Now back to Dr. Ostaad; he is a genuinely good dentist who takes pride in his work and is very good at it. His interest both in his patients and his work translates into being one of the best dentists I have ever known. Finally, their office is equipped with leading edge technology with real time digital imaging and xray in all rooms and computerized medical records; this means less paper mistakes.

House of Flava is the hip hop fashion mecca. They got all the hip hop threads like Ecko, LRG, Phatfarm, you name it, they sell it. The prices are not ebay, but still not bad given the large selection of what you're after under one roof. The sales staff are very nice and I like the decor of the place. There are styles for everyone in the family, from grade schoolers to the grand folks if they're into this stuff. Oh, by the way, there is also some serious pimp wear with some pretty outrageous suits and accessories. I love going here with my husband for some new clothes that may double some day for a theme party or hip hop event.

This is a great salon geared mainly for men's hair care. The stylists are excellent and my husband thinks they can do miracles with his hair. My husband swears by this place, and a couple of times he has snuck in during his lunch hour to get his do done; they're that fast and reliable. You can either just walk in or call ahead to save even more time. The prices are very reasonable for the level of quality in their work. Whereas I have several salons I frequent, my husband is pretty much stuck with this one for several years; they must be doing something right.

They also carry a good variety of vases and planting pots for both indoor and outdoor use. Of course, they have beautiful fresh flowers and I have had amazing floral arrangements made there. They also deliver, which is a big bonus if you have a friend who lives in the area. The staff is very friendly and courteous, eager to meet your needs. Overall, a hearty recommendation for a great flower shop in El Cajon.

This is the second shoe repair shop I have been to in the San Diego area and it's hard for me to pick one over the other. Lee's Shoe and boot repair has excellent service and the staff is very friendly and professional. The turnaround time is pretty quick since they do their own work. I go through shoes like crazy and so I really appreciate a good shoe repair shop, and this place definitely qualifies. Their prices are very competitive with other places I've been to and their workmanship is superb. I enthusiastically recommend Lee's for great service, value, and quality of work.

If you still like your music on plastic, then this is the place for you. Cow is the vinyl haven of San Diego, or so I think. They have a ton of hard to come by vinyl tracks from as early as the sixties all the way to the early eighties. They staff is really cool and into their music, and you can sell them your old stuff for store credit. They also have a huge ninety-nine cent section with great finds. This is a one of kind place and we are really lucky to have it right here in San Diego. Overall, I give Cow a huge recommendation for superb service, product selection, value, and just simply being cool.

This is like getting in a delorian and taking a step back in time; Gary's Record Paradise is a haven for hard to come by oldies and vinyl records. The owner has been at this for some time now and his collection is quite impressive. The prices are actually surprisingly reasonable given that some of these records could easily be considered as collector's items. This is a great place if you really want to surprise someone with an actual vinyl record that they grew up to fifty or sixty years ago. Overall, great staff, selection, and value. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is into the oldies and vinyl records.

Even though relatively small for a music store, Access Music is aptly name because it gives you access to some hard to come by albums. They seem to concentrate on hip hop, but they have a fair share of R & B, top 40, soft and hard rock, jazz, country, and all the major music players on the scene. I don't think I saw a lot of bluegrass... Anyway, their staff is very helpful and will show you where to find what your looking for instead of pointing you in some random direction with a finger. I like going to this store to browse around and find something I didn't even know about before.

When I first moved to San Diego, this was my first apartment. Sure it's not as new and glamorous as pretty much all the other apartment complexes in University Town Center, but then again that was the main appeal to me. I wanted to live in a low key place close to where all the action was in UTC; you're walking distance to 4 major shopping centers and malls on all four sides, two blockbusters, two dozen or so restuarants and delis, several starbucks, 3 bookstores, 2 theaters, and a whole lot more. And, of course, another major bonus is you can find a one bedroom or studio apartment for a lot less compared to the other complexes in the same area. I love this place, and will cherish the memories forever.

There is a lot of great cameras in this little shop. But more impressive is the huge stock of camera accessories and extras. They carry most major brands, and almost every telephoto or wide angle lens for almost all major cameras on the market. Sure, the prices are not as good as you could find on ebay, but the whole point here is to buy from a place where you can get great service, advice, and actually touch and feel your merchandise before purchase. Overall, I give North County Camera an enthusiastic thumbs up for their great selection, quality service, and reasonable prices.
