INCREDULOUS NURSE "ON THE COMPUTER?" 9/14/2010

they don't tell you this when you make an appointment and wait months... and then a few days before the appointment date you receive in the mail this place REQUIRES!!!!!!! you MUST! provide them FIRST with an hour (their estimate) of pre-appointment information from your unblocked computer so THEY! can USE YOUR UNBLOCKED computer information for their research. THEN sitting there i heard a couple there tell the nurse to send information to them via computer and she questioned that THEY! WOULD WANT TO DO THAT! more

Avoid at every cost 5/14/2009

I had the similar experience as Guest user described. They made my pregnancy sooooo miserable that it took me three months to get out of the depression. I had a perfectly healthy pregnancy. In my 20th week scan, I was 2 weeks behind the schedule. So doctor decided to send me over to Maternal Fetal Medicine claiming that baby was too small for age. My dates were off even at the very first scan at 12 weeks. Instead of rescheduling the due date, she sent me to maternal fetal. They bombarded me with all sorts of testing. Bpp, NST, doppler scans every week, and some twice a week. I was two weeks behind in every single one of my scans. But even doctors at MFM didn't bother to adjust the date. It continued for last ten weeks of pregnancy. It costed our insurance company thousands of dollars and costed me severe stress. I dont know what kinda deal they (this clinic) have cut out with MFM. Then around 37/38 weeks of my pregnancy, they started pushing us to get the labor induced, which was actually my 36th week of pregnancy. I went through whole day of labor induction with pitocin, which caused intense contractions every 2-3 minutes apart, but I was not dilating, because my body was just not ready for it. I went through the whole fiasco, one complete day. I wonder if contraction that strong for such long time period are even save for baby. Eventually the baby was born, and she was indeed in 37 week according to the doctor who evaluated the gestational age. Baby was weak and frail, Because last three weaks are crucial for fat gain in babies. But thankfully she was complete and healthy. Doctors were pressuring us to have the baby even earlier, which would have been my 36th week officially. This whole episode was sooo depressing, that I couldn't heal for a long time. I don't trust the doctors at this clinic and also the doctors at MFM. more

Inexperienced Doctor 4/1/2009

My second pregnancy i was referred to a physician due to it being high risk. I got the centers number from my cousin who gave rave reviews. I called and got right in with a doctor new to the clinic. I was already frustrated due to being 27 weeks and transferring. My first appointment was AWEFUL I couldn't understand anything she said and was told that i might have to be induced or have a c section. We were trying to keep the baby IN not get him out!!! I expressed my concerns to the desk and was told that i didn't have any other options because i was to far along and there weren't any doctors accepting transfers for my delivery date...What?? I unwillingly stayed with her and continued to go to the fetal clinic for monitoring, i felt more comfortable there than with my own doc! I stuck it out until my second to last appt. were she continually told me that she didn't want me to go full term because the baby would be too big...I had been there because i was at risk for pre-term labor why would she want to delivery him early? She did it anyways. As i was in labor and he was crowning she was called in and i could hear her repeatedly saying "they didn't show me this", (I was on my hands and knees!!) Thank God i had an awesome delivery nurse or i don't know what would have happened. My husband was furious, and both my mom and stepmom all had numerous complaints about her competency of delivering in the US. Definite review of her qualifications are a must. Later i learned that she had been practicing in the US only 18 months before delivering my baby. Check references and experience before picking a OB/Gyn!!! more

Clinic is more concerned with profits then patient care 7/19/2006

My experience at the Center for Women's Health at Evergreen has been negative. It was very difficult to make an appointment (they had me waiting up to 6 months), and then I've had to wait up to 45 minutes in the waiting room before. The actual appointment usually would be very quick, almost like they cared more about getting to the next patient then about spending time with me or my concerns. My last appointment, I got stuck behind a major accident on the freeway and when I called to tell them I was concerned I would be late. They said they could only hold the appointment up until 10 minutes after. When I was close, but I was already 10 minutes late, I called to see if I could still be seen or if I needed to reschedule. They said to come in. I raced to get there. I ran to the office. Then when I was there, the receptionist at the front ignored me. I had to wait for another receptionist to finish doing paperwork. Finally, when she saw me, they said, "You are too late. We will have to reschedule." (This was only five minutes after they told me to come in!) I couldn't believe it. Why did they tell me to come in and treat me so rudely, if they were going to reschedule anyhow? I understand that they have to keep a schedule and I respect that, but sometimes things like major accidents cause the most responsible patient to be late, and showing a little compassion for the bad luck, and respect by telling me to reschedule on the phone would have been appropriate. This was the last straw for me. I don't want to be at a clinic were I am just a number and not treated with any respect. more

Midwives at Center for Women's Health at Evergreen are fabulous! 1/11/2006

I delivered both my children with the midwives at the Center for Women's Health at Evergreen (5th floor), and both experiences were fantastic due to the compassionate care I received from them. Deb Monson and Mary Bachko, in particular, are stellar, but all the midwives working in the group are wonderful. They take the time to spend with you at each appointment to answer any questions or allay any fears you may have. At the birth, they are quite respectful of your wishes and try to work with you as best they can to follow any birth plan you may have. If, however, your birth isn't progressing, they gently offer options you and your partner may wish to try. The only downside to the Center for Women's Health is that, if you're *not* pregnant, it can be very hard to schedule an appointment. They're quite busy all the time. more

Overall Great Experience, but Choose Your Doctor Wisely 4/21/2005

Overall, I had a very positive experience here during my pregnancy. However, I did not have a good experience with the first OB I chose here (even though she had been recommended by Seattle Magazine). Once I switched to the midwife group, everything was great. There are 4 midwives in the group, and you rotate your appointments with them so that you get to know everyone. If you prefer, though, you can schedule with a particular midwife. There were only a few times that I had to wait for my appointment. Most of the time, I got in early. Appointments with the older midwives tended to be more hurried, but with the younger ones, I had all the time I wanted to ask questions, etc. Best of all, I left the appointments feeling great. As a side note, I did end up having a C-section and the OB from this practice that performed that was great - nothing like the one I originally went to. more
