No. Not if you value your hair. I went there because I thought it looked ""hip"" and I wanted something a little edgy. I had previously been going to a Newbury Street salon which was feeling stodgy, boring, and overpriced. I am a professional and I have my hair bleached. Phillipo told me bleach was ""bad for my hair"" and he would do a ""lift"" and my hair would be healthier and stronger. WRONG. When Phillipo finished with my hair, the entire top layer was burned off. It looks like he cut a short layer on top, but it is simply ruined, broken, and burned off. I am not kidding or exaggerating. When he was blow drying it out (after I told him I do not do blow dryers) and started to style it I noticed all the broken short hairs. I said ""wait a minute, what's this? why is it all short on top?"" And he says ""What?"" ""Oh your hair was damaged when you came in here"" At that moment I realized he was a charlatan, lying to my face. I know my own hair. I had not been to the salon for about 3 months, letting my roots grow out, and I was totally aware of the condition of my hair which was not bad. This guy ruined my hair and then tried to blame it on me! That is the sign of an immature and defensive liar. He should have been man enough to admit that he left the ""lift"" on too long, and it burnt my hair and made it break off. He should have offered to not make me pay for it or offered some kind of apology. I was too stunned and shocked to say much. I paid my stupid ridiculously overpriced bill. I will never ever go back, I will never ever recommend the place, and I will write these reviews so that no unwary customer ever gets the same crappy treatment. Oh, and the worst part of the whole horrible day was the fact that he freaked out when I said my former stylist used bleach and he would treat my hair in such a gentle and healthy manner and my hair would be better off. Instead his ""gentle"" treatment actually made me lose a whole layer of hair on top of my head. I will never ever forgive him for this. AND he cut my bangs too short AND CROOKED! Un-f%$#@ believable. Back to Newbury Street. Stay away from this faker. more

I also wrote this review on yelp. They have a better selection of reviews, however, I find it necessary to tell EVERYONE about how horrible this place is. I had my hair cut by the owner, Phillipo, several weeks ago. THIS IS THE WORST HAIRCUT I HAVE EVER HAD. You figure, going to the owner would be no cause for concern, however, after explaining that I have been trying to grow my hair out from a short cut, and would only like a trim with some layers, HE CUT IT ALL OFF, totally dismissing EVERYTHING I had told him I would like. Not to mention, being in tears, he said ""well thats style"", walking away for me to pay $100 for something I DID NOT ASK FOR. ( I don't know about anyone else but I consider that a form of theft and horrible ownership) With that being said, I contacted the Better Buisness Bureau and reported him, and explained everything that had happened to me. Also, while I was getting THE WORST shampoo I have ever had, I noticed that there were combs, color bowls, and those color brushes (with hair in them) were accompanied by DRINKING GLASSES... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So I also contacted the MA State Board (after some trouble even being able to talk to someone) because I found this so unsanitary and repulsive. Not to mention, being tapped on the feet by other employees walking past in this closet sized shampooing area... SO THEY COULD EAT THEIR FOOD ABOVE ME. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISCUSTED BY ANY ESTABLISHMENT- EVER. Not even rest stops on the side of the highway bother me much after being there. Also, the bathroom was weird, and also totally gross. The laundry is in front of the toilet, and it is also a changing room... tell me how this guy could even get approved for this? Also, there was hair all over the toilet seat, the sink, and gross stains on the floor in front of the toilet. The hamper in the bathroom had hair all inside of it (which is understandable because the robes to be put in are used) HOWEVER it bothered me because there was that gross film on the bottom that happens to trash cans over time, and there was another bin inside the hamper, that WAS a trashcan... he probably didnt have any room for it anywhere else, considering this salon is smaller than my childhood bedroom. All in all, I had such a bad experience, I found it 100% necessary to contact as many people and spend as much time as I could to report the illegality of this man's establishment. DONT EVER GO HERE. more

I just moved into the Boston area and was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled into this hidden jem. Everyone in the Salon was super friendly! I had an awesome time. They spent alot of time on me and actually listened to the hair cut I wanted... that never happends. I walked out feeling stunning and my hair felt so healthy.\r \r I loved the atmosphere in the salon, very trendy and sleek. \r \r The only draw back is that I would have called in advance I waited a little bit becuase I just walked in, it was really busy but they still pampered me and I never felt rushed.\r \r I will absolutley go back, and tell my friends to come with me. Thanks Phillipostyle I love my hair cut!!!!! Pros: Friendly, Fun, Gorgeous Salon!!!!! more
