Customer Service Sucks 10/7/2010

Just tried to email then from their website and got it returned, no big surprise I have always eaten one type of Cheese Steak for the most part, the Pizza Cheese steak since before I left phila?. I keep on coming into the one off Quebec and being disappointed. Not exactly in their food but by a request I make and being told no problem. I like the pizza cheese steak with the sauce mixed in with the meat rather than a condiment topping. I request this and am told no problem. I get home and its not like I request but as a condiment on top. I had to try to mix it up at home which makes it more messy as the meat and bread falls apart. I swear if the place down the street on Peoria had better bread you guys would never see me again. They honor my request?. Unsatisfied customer Scott Miller more

Good Subs... Bad Customer Service Experience 6/29/2010

6/30/2010 - I called at 7:43pm to hve a sub made. The employee advised that they were only doing walk-ins. As I was talking, I was hung up on. I was just advising that I was around the corner...literally. So I walked up there.... Now being 7:47pm... The door is locked...and the guy in there (who hung up on me) sees me and ignores me. I've never had this experience here with other employees that manned the register. 4 years of great service and being my favorite spot...DEAD! Never going back to that location! I called bak and told the guy this as well... The business that I brought that place stops too... Hello Santoros or Pats on Arapahoe! ILLIF BLOWS!!! Pros: Love the Subs Cons: HATE THE SERVICE more

Used to be the best 1/11/2009

Yes, they may have the best cheesesteaks in Denver, but at this particular location the service and food quality has gone downhill over the past year or two and I still get it about once a week or so. The meat portions are less and less every time. I mean yeah the economy stinks, but if I am paying 10 bucks for a 2 dollar sandwich you better throw some friggin meat on there. If i wanted a salad on bread that's what I would have went to Subway! The worst thing is the attitude of the people that run the register. I won't get into semantics, but the guys that run this location are the worst! One of them once put a tip onto my card, which I did not put on there. WTF is up with that? This is the only Pat's I have been to, but I am pretty sure the Philadelphia attitude is not supposed to come with my cheesesteak. It's very unfortunate that I work close by and continue to give Pat's its umpteenth chance. Pros: Excellent Parking Cons: Where's the guy that ran this place 2 years ago when it was good? more

Best Cheese Wit... ever 9/22/2008

I used to work in three different cheese steak locations in/around Philly, this is by far the best you will ever get out here. At least they don't make you the lingo to get a great sandwhich. And order to bag or table is really quick. The bread is perfect, chewy yet crusty the meat is tender and not overcooked - which is easy to do if you have no clue! The only negative is that you actually have to ask for extra cheese in order for it to be propely cheesed. My fave besides your standard cheese wit... the PJ Gobbler (COLD ONLY). They fresh roast that turkey and serve it on bread with cranberry sauce and stuffing. Don't have to wait until Thanksgiving anymore for your day after sandwhich. And they have the traditional snack cakes too. I waited years to get those again! This review is ONLY for the Quebec location, NOT DTC. DTC service is sub-standard, rude, slow during times you should be fast and not customer oriented like the one at Quebec. Pros: Bread, snack cakes Cons: the DTC location more

Best Cheese Steak Sandwiches Ever! 4/6/2008

This is my first review here, but I just had to do it. This place deserves business! I moved to Denver in Nov. of 2006. Since my arrival I've asked friends & co-workers where I can find a good sub / cheesesteak shop. I kept getting answers consisting of these little foo-foo sandwich shops that have the word "gourmet" in their names just to jack up the price of a typical sandwich I could make at home. I quit asking around. I found Pat's Cheesesteaks, of all places, in the coupons in the back of the phone directory. I said "Let's try it. It's just a couple miles from home and absolutely can't be any worse than those we've been trying". I was skeptical when I walked in the door, I mean, the place is nothing to look at. Undaunted by appearances I looked the menu over and ordered a medium cheesesteak. Service was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. A few minutes later my cheesesteak arrived at the table. Anyone who knows anything about cheesesteaks knows that it's all about the bread - and Pat's has *THE* bread for cheesesteaks! It's not some wimpy soft bread that falls apart under the weight and moisture of the contents, but it's not so hard that it hurts to bite into it. Their bread is perfectly chewy every time. The cheesesteak is just exactly that - cheese & steak. If you prefer sweet peppers & onions on yours then be sure to order the Pat's Phatty. Their new South Florida Cuban is very good too (and I should know, I spent 5? years in Miami before moving here). There are more sandwiches to choose from. Make your choice and top it off with an order of fries or onion rings & a drink and you've got the perfect picnic fixings for a day at the park. When you order, note the sizes of the bread up on the wall. They have four sandwich sizes to choose from, but beware of the BIGGIE - it's huge! If you like sandwiches there are lots of places to go, but Pat's is the only place for an AUTHENTIC PHILLY CHEESE STEAK. I'm a loyal customer - you should be too! Pros: high quality food & friendly service Cons: appearance more

Great Philly's 2/18/2008

I've been to Pat's twice now off of a recommendation from a friend. Both times we went during off peak hours and they were either short staffed or the bartender was doing double duty serving drinks and taking orders. Both time the service was slow and below average. However the Cheese steak sandwiches are to die for and I will continue to go back. The meet, bread, additions are amazing and it really doesn't get much better if you love philly's. Pros: Cheese Steaks Cons: Service more

Best Philly's ever! 12/25/2007

Great Sub shop, they have the best subs in town, ok actually anywhere. The store is minimally furnished, nothing fancy, but don't be put off. The staff and food is unbelievable. more

Best SUBS ever in DENVER! 12/21/2007

Not to be missed, and not to be fooled by the "cafeteria" appearance. This sub shop is small, quaint, but excellent. Great fresh subs loaded with plenty of meat, cheese, and fixings, made to order. You will not be disappointed. We're so glad we found this hidden treasure! Great service, friendly staff, eat in or take out! But mostly, great flavor and very filling! Pros: fresh subs, lots of meat, worth the price Cons: not enough of them around! more

Pat's great cheesesteaks 5/23/2005

I only eat at Pat's when in Denver because it remindsme of home...in Philly! more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Housed within the massive Hilton Americas-Houston hotel, this bustling chop house is popular with hotel guests, convention attendees, sports fans and other downtown diners looking for a trendy scene and quality food. The expansive and elegant lobby echoes a similar atmosphere once inside Spencer's, which manages to be inviting despite its size. The adjacent bar and lounge area gets crowded for drinks and pregame meals. There is an extensive wine list and the service is affable and attentive.

    The Food
The kitchen serves up a continental menu with steaks, lamb and seafood. The large porterhouse, filets and prime rib are served sizzling fresh while the lamb and fish are tender and perfectly spiced. The king crab and lobster are succulent and go great with an assortment of west coast beers. The dessert tray is worth a look.

Hits: The king crab legs are massive and delicous when dipped in butter.

Misses: TVs in the bar area distract from the fine dining atmosphere of the main dining room.
