great place!!! 11/3/2009

I love coming to PDA! My favorite part is the friendly atmosphere thanks to the wonderful and friendly staff. The food is incredible. I agree with the previous reviewer... the calamari is to die for! I may go there for the food, but it is the martinis that keep me coming back! This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants!!! Pros: food, drinks, and the atmosphere more

Great Grilled Calamari 10/29/2009

Every place has fried calamari but I took a chance on the option for grilled calamari and have been kicking myself ever since. It was great, the waiter touted that its the best grilled calamari in the city, I haven't tried it any where else yet but I have to say I believe he can make a good argument. I enjoyed everything else too, the pasta came to me still steaming. I didn't have room for dessert but next time I will try the hand stuffed cannoli, but I won't skip to calamari appetizer to save room. I will definitely be back soon! Pros: bread is awesome Cons: small, when packed it can be a little noisy more

Good neighborhood restaurant 10/19/2009

My husband and I come often to Pasta D' Arte. Many times we bring other family members. The food is delicious and creative specials are available everyday. Due to health problems, at times I need to make a special request or substitute an ingredient in a dish and Mark, the owner, is always willing to accommodate. For a wonderful meal and excellent service, Pasta D' Arte is the place to go. Pros: Excellent food and drink, great service more

Have you ever been tossed out of a restaurant? 10/10/2009

A group of three of us recently went to Pasta D?Arte to celebrate 2 birthdays. We had made a reservation for 5 p.m. Although the small restaurant was so noisy that we could not hear each other, we were enjoying our food until at 6:30, a mere 1 1/2 hours after we were seated for a 4-course dinner, the waiter dropped off the check and told us that we needed to leave our table by 6:45 because another reservation was arriving at 7 p.m. We were very annoyed, but presented our credit card when the waiter again demanded we leave our table and told us to settle our check in the bar area. All of us have traveled extensively and eaten at every type of restaurant from take-out to 5-star Michelin restaurants. Never have we been treated so rudely. We asked to speak to the manager, who told us it?s not the restaurant?s policy to throw guests out, but offered no explanation for the waiter?s actions. The bartender offered us a drink, but we told him our evening was already ruined. I told both the waiter and the manager that this restaurant is by no means ?Italian? because in Italy it is the height of rudeness to present the check before the guests request it, let alone demand they leave. We arrived with high expectations for a wonderful evening, but instead ended up being tossed out. Never again, Pasta D?Arte. Cons: Terriblle customer service more

Great Food, Great Service! 8/18/2009

We LOVED the special of the night Chilean Sea Bass (got the last portion of the night) - best ever!!! My Italian chicken was hearty comfort food. Service with a smile. We had a fantastic anniv. dinner just blocks from home in this little gem. Try it! Pros: Attentive service, Superb Italian Cons: Atmosphere is cozy and neighborly - not dreamy more

The best thing to ever happen to Jefferson Park. 2/10/2008

I can't say enough good things about Pasta D'Arte. My boyfriend and I started eating here 2 years ago and we are so lucky to have found this place in our very own neighborhood. Instead of having to drive all the way downtown we get to have awesome Italian food (the pumpkin ravioli is to DIE for) and Chris, the bartender, makes me the best dirty martini's before dinner. Plus the service is wonderful and the servers can answer any questions you have about the menu and are very accommodating to any special requests. Mark, the owner and chef always greets us and can be seen walking around talking to the customers many of which he knows by first name. I recommend this place to everyone I know and have every confidence that their experience will be just as wonderful if not better than mine. Pros: Close to home, awesome service, fabulous food and drinks. Cons: Can't think of any. more

Hidden Treasure 3/2/2007

Pasta D'Arte is a small little hidden treasure on Milwaukee Ave on the Northwest side fo Chicago. Located just south of the intersection of Milwaukee/Devon/Nagel, this gem serves authentic italian fare at a reasonable price. The food is delicious and the service is familiar and attentive. Whether you are catching a quick bite after work or taking friends out for a leasurely meal, Pasta D'arte will not disappoint. The chef has numerous specials, and will also cook special requests to order. Just remember one thing...do not tell too many people about our little treasure or they may have to move to bigger digs. Pros: Food, service Cons: Parking, small bar more

great italian food very authentic 7/13/2006

Pros: everything is fabulous more

Delicious 2/10/2006

I happened upon this little gem by accident. I drove past it's location, on Milwaukee, just south of Devon a million times and always wanted to stop, but figured it would be the standard ""pasta, ribs, italian beef"" fare. I was SO wrong! It's a small place, with great service and a sweet ambiance. But the food is what keeps me coming back. Try the Caprese salad - done slightly different with grape tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella balls with a balsamic dressing. Yum. If they have the Ahi Tuna special it is amazing, the garlic mashed potatoes are the best around. And of course the pasta is terrific - with a lot of variety and an authentic taste. Don't love the white minestrone soup, but that's about the only thing I wouldn't order again! May need reservations - it's hit or miss, as the place is small with limited seating. more

Good Neighborhood Place 5/31/2004

True, Chicago has a ton of Italian restaurants, and it gets hard to tell one from another, but Pasta D'arte is one that is worth trying. It's a cute little place on Milwaukee near Devon, owned and run by a couple young guys who try very hard to ensure a pleasant dining experience. It's not incredibly fancy, but it has good food and friendly service; what more do you need? By the way, do give the rotolo a try. Pros: Good Parking, Reasonable Wine List more
