Panache Hair and Beauty, on Telegraph Avenue (at Bancroft) in Berkeley, has some of the hippest hairdressers in town. I have very short hair, so I need someone who will be able to make it feminine, yet with the pixie style I've grown to love. A lot of people make this haircut a bit too manly. At Panache, I've never had that problem. I always leave there feeling hip and cool. They also have a nice array of styling products with names like Nexxus, Paul Mitchell, M.O.P. and L'Anza. They've also got nice hairbrushes and combs, none of which I need! There is a section of 75% off items also, in the back of the store. I believe that they also do waxing. more

Panache 8/11/2005

This is a great place to go if you are looking for a new look. I went in with my hair down past my shoulders, and had it all cut off short. I was really nervous, but my mom has been going to Panache for awhile so I thought I would try it. She did a great job!! I took in a picture of Julia Stiles and she gave me the exact same haircut as her! I really love it, and everyone who works there does a great job. more

Chic salon next to the Cal campus 8/10/2005

I had my hair cut at Panache a number of times while a student at Cal. Sometimes I'd see the same person, but sometimes I'd try someone new. I was always pleased with my results. The stylists I had were all very professional and friendly, listened well to what I wanted, and delivered a result I was quite pleased with. Prices were moderate -- cheap compared to what I fork out now, but maybe a tad on the "pricey" side for a college town. Plus, they carried a good selection of hair supplies from big name labels. The prices for the products were also reasonable, compared to other stores in the area. more
