I used this vet practice when I live in the Bay area 5 years ago. I just returned here and went to a cheaper vet nearby and had a bad experience with one of my small/older dogs so I decided to remain with them for my pets' care.
This incident which could have been detrimental to my pet made me realize that you can't skimp on your pets' care as it could cost their life. They are more expensive than other vets in the area however I feel I can entrust my pets' well being with them especially after the aforementioned incident with another vet.
Hours are conveient and they have several specialists on staff.

This place has almost all of your photography needs located on Telegraph in Berkeley. I used to purchase my Black and White darkroom supplies here up until I started using digital formats. I was always happy with the on stock merchandise and superb customer service they offered here. The staff are very knowledgeable and will help you and answer any quesitions you have. You can also rent supplies from here. They offer lenses and lighting equipment for rent at reasnobale prices. It does get busy here thought because its close to UCB and the students there know about the reputation this place has.

Looking Glass is funky - perhaps the last stand of non-corporate, personal service stores- the sort of service that died in most other stores years ago. They carry all the requisite digital stuff from cheap cameras for your kids to the nearly $8000 Canon 1Ds Mark III and the whole line of Nikon DSLRs and lenses. Excellent supply of inkjet paper, photo paper, bags, film and used film cameras. Decent selection of printers, scanner etc. Reasonable rental department with most of the poplar Nikon and Canon digital SLRs and lenses. The prices are slightly higher than online retailers, but the folks behind the counter are knowledgeable and friendly, so I think it's worth a few extra bucks.
It is a little cramped, and you may have to wait for 5 or 10 minutes on Saturdays, but there's a reason there's a line at Looking Glass - it's the only real camera store in the East Bay, and better vibes than any store in the City, though I suppose Calumet has a better selection of expensive high end gear.
Pros: Great service, great selection; convenient hours.
Cons: Somewhat cramped, occasionally there is a wait.

I was SO fortunate to find Sherry Burkart and have her capture our special moments of our 10/15/05 wedding in Mendocino, where she kindly traveled and took the most spectacular photgraphs which will last us a lifetime.
I had heard such horror stories from other brides about their photographer taking too long with the photos, not delivering what they asked for, charging an arm & a leg and I fell so truly lucky to have found Sherry. On top of traveling to our wedding site, only 3 hours away mind you - she took amazing shots and even had all 380+ photos and CD's ready for us within 14 days of our wedding! Sherry was also flexible with our limited budget and worked with us were other photographers would charge an inordinate price and not budge.
Overall, it was a real treat working with a professional who really listens to your needs. I honestly recommend Sherry to anyone getting married or wanting to have professional pictures taken, she is more than worth it!

Cal Cleaners is located on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley and it is about four blocks away from the UC Berkeley campus. It is next to a food market and Sharks vintage store. Cal Cleaners is really convenient for students who need to get their clothes dry-cleaned for nice events or dates and they are very nice to customers. There are always coupons and deals, especially for students so check out Cal Cleaners when you need some cleaning services.

Excellent location, just one block from the 65 bus stop. Offers a wide range of products, and I went there to buy a Cal sweatshirt because they had a twenty percent off deal, and the original price was already comparably cheaper than the student store. Store is small, but still lots to choose from.

Here's an afternoon of bliss: Go to the chocolate store down the street, Chocolat, and satisfy that indulgence, and then mosey on down to the Milo Foundation and pet and gush over adorable little kittens and puppies. And bigger cats and dogs. They are all so cute you could just die. My son can barely stand to leave. He spends the next ten minutes gasping, "They're SO DARN CUTE! They're SO DARN CUTE!!!" You just have to try it. You can even volunteer there to foster kitten families in your home, or to walk the dogs!

This is a great place to take your clothes if you need them altered or just drycleaned. The owner is very good at what she does and doesn't charge an arm and leg for her services. She can do ANYTHING ie. make big clothes smaller and small clothes (to an extent) larger. Her work is quality and it doesn't take her forever to do it. She is very thoughtful. When I had too many clothes to take home at one time she actually brought them to my house (this is not a regular service and I only live a few blocks from her business) I say that because I wouldn't want to create a problem of people wanting their things delivered. It ia an honor to write a review for someone who really deserves to have something good said about them.

This is a good place to go if you're in a hurry. They do things fast--copies and printing or passport photos. They've also got a selection of textured and colored papers priced per sheet if you need to run off a couple resumes. Computer/Internet access is $5 for 15 minutes. A good alternative to more crowded establishments like Kinkos.
