Best

It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at goo.gl/FPxYD They have some of the best hotel deals on the web!

Worst

Probably won't go back. Good but nothing special and the food wasn't as fresh as I like. Also had trouble finding something appealing and interesting on the menu.

Just ok. 5/5/2006

This place is located in the hotel Monaco - and for that reason alone, you go in expecting a fantastic blow-you-away experience. Unfortunately that's not what you'll find here. The menu is ho-hum and so is the service. Unfortunately the food is mediocre and overpriced. The decor is nice and the restaurant is very pretty on the surface - it's too bad the food doesn't live up! more

Surprisingly Average 5/4/2006

I had a late dinner with my friend Greg. Sazerac is across the street from the W Hotel where I'm staying. We walked in, got a table (it was pretty empty for 8pm on a Thursday night.) The service was prompt and good. I started out with hushpuppies and molasses - classic comfort food - which was yummy. My main course was a super creamy ravioli dish of some sort with backed bread crumbs on top. I was worn out after about three bits - it was just way too cheesy / creamy. I also had a side of red beans and rice which were good, but not great. I was expecting a lot more and was disappointed. The ambience was fine, the meal was fine, but it was just "fine". more

Soul food without a soul 3/16/2006

This is the kind of dining experience I dislike. Sazerac takes simple southern cuisine and overcomplicates it. The service and the wine list were fine, but none of the dishes I tried really knocked my socks off, and the restaurant itself doesn’t have any character. There are much better places to spend your money downtown. more

Southern Meets Seattle - Everyone Wins 8/17/2005

Sazerac is an upscale restaurant with a southern menu heavily influenced by its Seattle location, both in terms of ingredients and the Seattle fusion flair that pervades most area restaurants. The food ends up generally quite good. My favorites are the crawfish, duck, and andouille sausage gumbo and the catfish, but most things I've tried on the menu have been delicious. If you're a barbecue connoisseur, stay away from the pulled pork as you're bound to be disappointed. A little pricier than most places of its quality for lunch, but still a good buy given the portion size and delectable food. Service is competent, but nothing to rave or rant about. The Happy Hour specials are excellent, both drink and food-wise, especially the pate. more
